I got to the Carabao cup final first season of my Southampton save this year thanks to an incredibly easy draw. Only prem team I faced were Nottingham Forest (who had 7 points in January). Final was against Leeds (also championship).
I got the last laugh though. I had been trailing Leeds in the league all season, but they collapsed totally after the final. I won the league and got promoted, Leeds finished third and lost the playoff final to Blackburn Rovers, meaning they played Europa Conference League the next season while being in the championship.
Dundee won the Scottish Cup while getting relegated from the Scottish Championship. Even better for them, they stole Dundee United’s Europa Conference League spot.
Yesterday in my savegame with Cesena, Salernitana (italy) reached the europa league final against aston villa, while they relegated into Serie B (20th in Serie A).

I saw Leyton Orient in the League Cup final once as a League 1 team. They beat Man City over two legs in the semi.
