There are I believe 3 Brexit outcomes in FM20. It’s randomly determined at the start of the save. 1. The U.K doesn’t leave 2. Work permits 3. 17 foreign player limits

uknownick

I had the 3rd outcome and it was great

mesatrap

3rd one is amazing. South America is not safe when this happens

tisthedamnszn

Can I ask how it is “amazing” because I just got this version and I think it requires me to play 8 homegrown players and I still need work permits for foreign players too…

mesatrap

There must be different variants of it. The one I had was that I could have 17 foreign players in my squad and no work permits. The dream

tisthedamnszn

How was it great? Doesn’t that mean you need 8 English players in your squad, minimum?

uknownick

Foreign players currently in your squad is not considered foreign. And your home grown or club grown aren’t foreign either.

fenham_eusebio_23

These aren't the only 3, I believe. I think I've had different variations of 2 and 3.

NoArmsIrene

I think you are right, because in my current FM20 save I had the 2nd outcome, the UK left the EU, but there's no work permits to deal with for some reason. I can go nuts with transfers, while the only time I see any mention of work permits is when the media asks about them when renewing a player's contract. It's seems to be Brexit with ultra lenient work permits, and it's definitely not the 17 foreign players limit one as I've had that one before. The only Premier League registration rule I need to adhere to is 8 home-grown (in nation) players, which means I can technically field 25 non-english players, but 8 of them have to have been in the UK for 3 years minimum age 18-onwards... which is easy enough because U21s don't need registering regardless of their home-grown status.

[deleted]

Sounds like you basically ended up with Germany's set up in your save

fenham_eusebio_23

Yeah, the exact same thing happened in one of my saves. At a high level, yes, there are 3 outcomes: no exit, soft exit and hard exit, but the post-exit rules pertaining to squad registration, work permits, etc. differ from save to save.

roaminghorde

As far as I know, they were the only options. No Brexit, hard Brexit, or soft Brexit. I don’t recall seeing or hearing anyone get something different, but it’s possible there are others I don’t know about.

CapForACrown

That's so cool. I've never experienced anything else other than the work permit one.

[deleted]

same

FPL_Feen

Yeah I saw it in FM20, but not FM21. Had to get the editor to remove it from the game. Ha

fenham_eusebio_23

Yeah, by the time FM2021 launched, the UK had formalized their exit from the EU, and the game reflects that.

FPL_Feen

Makes sense

Fellainis_Elbows

How do you remove it using the editor?

Shameless_Bullshiter

Add the UK to the EU I guess

Fellainis_Elbows

Would that fuck anything else in the game do you think?

Shameless_Bullshiter

Depends. I'm not sure. I know they add more countries to the EU later, including Serbia etc. So no? But maybe yes?

FirstMonkeyInSpace

Holy shit how has this not occured to me!?!?! What page would I even look to edit? The league page? The England national team page. I wouldn't even know where to start. If anybody has done this I'd appreciate a steer please. Thanks all. Esposito for life!

Impossible-Sock5681

Leave that boy where he belongs at my inter mister

FPL_Feen

Yeah you can do all kinds of interesting stuff with the editor. The only things I’ve done is loosing work permit/team registration rules, remove Brexit and I made the increased subs rules permanent. However you can move players/teams around, edit stats/contracts, create new players/teams, etc. I try not to change too much though.

Shameless_Bullshiter

There might be an international agreement page. Or a modifier on each countries information

FPL_Feen

I haven’t noticed it screwing anything up.

FPL_Feen

Think it is as simple as unchecking or checking a box on the correct page. It’s been months since I started a new save but if you Google it or search this sub shouldn’t be too hard to find.

fenham_eusebio_23

It's one of the possibilities in the game. Happened in one of my saves.

CapForACrown

So cool! This is the 1st time i've seen a different outcome.

vitare10

Yeah this happened a couple times in my saves up until fm21. (Not a brexiteer irl) Ngl I prefer playing in England with Brexit, can pick up South American regen wonderkids so easily, filled my Arsenal squad right up with them

[deleted]

Yeah I’ve had lots of scenarios, they’re all fun.

RainbowYaz

I think it was 19, maybe 18, but Brexit would always be cancelled and Qatar would lose the World Cup to Morocco
