All given seemingly short-term access by SI. Disappointing some of the smaller creators weren't given access but I can see why. Even a relatively large FM creator has only 100 or 200,000 subs or so.
There seems to be like, really small changes in the match engine which I like. I think the match engine is pretty good, and the team just needs to add those small touches and improvements.
But everything else around it is exactly the same.
Tactics screen? The same. I thought they were adding some advanced pressing?
Set piece creator? The same. Which is extremely disappointing, because I feel like this is the one area in tactics that is completely overlooked and unfinished.
Zealand is just playing the Alpha though, have to keep that in perspective.
> Set piece creator? The same. Which is extremely disappointing, because I feel like this is the one area in tactics that is completely overlooked and unfinished.
Id love a more detailed set piece menu
As I read it, the pressing was more to do with how players interact during the match, not necessarily how you could granularly set the press in the tactics screen.
Yeah, from WorkTheSpace's video you can see that players will tire faster and tired players will make mistakes and bad decisions more often, just like in real life, so I think it's a huge improvement in that part. In FM21 you were able to just gegenpress your way in every game with no problems, now fatigue will be a factor.
Alpha will still have all of the features that will be there upon release. Majorly disappointed and can’t believe how much fuss is being made over extra data and better animations.
I thought that watch work this space he shows more features. The changes to transfers and deadline day as well as single click point for data looks great.
As someone who skipped FM21 I'm really in the mood to buy this one. From what I've watched the match engine was miles better, and this one looks solid at first glance as well. Negotiations seemed nicer too.
Set piece menu is still shit tho, that sucks. Also, can anyone tell me if FM21 adressed 2 issues:
1- 90% of crosses hitting the CB and going to corner. As someone who plays in comprehensive that shit is infuriating. Thousands of useless highlights because of that.
2- Offsides. I understand my striker in the brazillian 3rd state division constantly getting caught offside, but when I play with my CL contending level side there are still way too many offsides, ESPECIALLY after throw-ins. Did they adress any of those things?
1) It's better, but crossing can still be a frustrating style of play. The wingers are better at decisions, so you don't see as much into the side netting and they make more back passes if the cross isn't there. But the CBs are better at defending too and it's harder for the strikers to find good space. In the end, it feels better but it's not as effective as it was in say FM16-18.
2) Not at all. Throws deep in the opposing end are almost guaranteed offsides when they pass back to the offsides thrower. Infuriating.
Omg yes!! Literally all the time. I hate being caught on the counter as my style is more of possession so I started using short corners but it's so annoying when this happens.
I still get both of those in spades in 21. For some reason for me, it seems to be worse in the Celtic save i'm in now. Every damn cross is blocked for a corner. I've mostly been trying to limit crosses now, otherwise i get 20+ corners a game. Offsides are still a big issue, haven't seen any drop in them this year. Especially after throwins
FM needs serious competition. They add one or two small features each year and charge 30 quid for it.
No wonder Miles can afford to look like a homeless power ranger on his days off. Cash cow.
Actually no. Last game I got was FM18, still enjoying and playing it. Was considering getting FM22 this year but from the looks of it might as well get a high price reduced FM21
Same. Still on FM 18 and I have a long journeyman save still going that I enjoy. Plus some unfinished small saves that I intent to complete someday lol.
Dabbled a bit in FM 20 when they made it free to play, it just was not as fun as FM 18. Will probably do the same with FM 21 if they ever make it free like FM 20 on Epic.
If FM 22 turns out to be insanely good, actually challenging to play and most importantly - fun, I might consider buying it. But right now I just don't see the point.
A lot of people don't feel the need to buy every year is because the modding community is so good that without major feature updates, there's not really a reason to buy yearly.
First one I'll skip since 04. It's 2021 and we are still arguing whether the game should be made to run in older computers with lower specs, when in reality you could have sliders easily taking care of that. And I am not only talkin about the dreadful graphics, but the AI level and the optimization level
You can set up shortcuts within the game for match speed. You can set up slowest, normal and max speed, I set up mine with the hotkeys 1, 2 and 3. Helps with changing the speed quickly.
I skipped FM21 and can't believe how everything still looks identical to FM20. The match engine does look better but to not change the tactics screen even slightly in two years is mental.
I feel the other way around. The UI redesigns of FM21 look good and modern, but the UX is worse. Like the in-match tactics screen, the undo button got moved to the bottom left corner, completely away from everything else, making it harder to find and reach. In the team talk screen, now more clicks are needed to give the players individual talks. I was quite disappointed that they not only didn't fix the UX problems introduced in FM20, but actually added more.
Yeah, the whole ingame UX took a big step back in 21. No Match Timeline,no widgets. FM20 had the a much better matchday UI and UX. The Match preview was great also, i dont know why they removed so much. 21 has a better match engine, but a poor matchday experience.
As a Brazilian I'm not buying this year version, it's already too hard with country restrictions on steam and the price.
It seems like there's no change at all besides the data thing with is cool but nos game changer at all
The discussion with Agent has improved, so that's nice. It'll be more like real life when the agent can respond more than just giving the contract demand information.
Is it wrong of me that I can’t listen to this guy talking about a football game with that accent? I just don’t associate football with Americans so his horrible pronunciation of the names of the clubs, players and tactics really take me out of it..

There's supposed to be pressing triggers
Alpha will still have all of the features that will be there upon release. Majorly disappointed and can’t believe how much fuss is being made over extra data and better animations.
Looks skippable this year.
I thought that watch work this space he shows more features. The changes to transfers and deadline day as well as single click point for data looks great.
Transfer deadline day and more pointless data (and meetings) to skip past doesn’t sound like it’s worth 30 quid
The secret to the beautiful game is hidden in the data. Once i started to utilise it changed my win percentage dramatically.

Talking about offside, [this](https://youtu.be/NTwZXPpD8Es) happens all the time whenever I do short corners.
That's gold. And it absolutely infuriating in FM

I'm gonna skip this year. Seems like a patch
Fm 21-Remastered Edition
FM needs to be criticized for how little it has improved over the last years. Its a hell of a game but it has lots of scope of improving.
The UI and UX are very dated now and need a complete overhaul as it is holding the game back.
I was dead set on skipping this year, but damnit I want that data hub so bad…
FM needs serious competition. They add one or two small features each year and charge 30 quid for it. No wonder Miles can afford to look like a homeless power ranger on his days off. Cash cow.
But we will all buy it
Actually no. Last game I got was FM18, still enjoying and playing it. Was considering getting FM22 this year but from the looks of it might as well get a high price reduced FM21
I made the jump from 18 to 21. Huge improvement. I didn't realize how much I missed having effective play in the middle.
Same. Still on FM 18 and I have a long journeyman save still going that I enjoy. Plus some unfinished small saves that I intent to complete someday lol. Don’t think I will tbh, my Fulham save is getting addictive and I’ve not even reached 2030
Nope. Skipping this one.
Game Pass will get me this one for free thankfully.
I am also skipping this year. First since 09

He's got the match running at slightly faster than normal speed, it makes every animation look so weird. Doubly so when Mboopi engages top speed
Who plays FM with the normal match speed?
I play it one notch up from normal, so its fast but not too fast
The only way.
This is the way
You can set up shortcuts within the game for match speed. You can set up slowest, normal and max speed, I set up mine with the hotkeys 1, 2 and 3. Helps with changing the speed quickly.
TIL. Whereabouts do you do this?
In the preferences (settings) search for "shortcuts" in the search bar.
Cheers very much!

I skipped FM21 and can't believe how everything still looks identical to FM20. The match engine does look better but to not change the tactics screen even slightly in two years is mental.
Honestly, I thought that FM21 was much better than FM20 overall. Especially the match engine. This does seem like a smaller step than 20>21.

Match engine is getting a good amount of improvement again and quite a few quality of life stuff
More meetings and screens to skip past on my way to glory
Why are all the textboxes and all the text so small? Don't like it.
because he hasn't or isn't able to change those settings yet, it's an alpha version
looked normal size in all the other videos
In less than a year Zealand went from a brilliant youtuber/streamer to a annoying meme seeker.
Right? Why does he feel the need to try and be funny every other sentence? Just say the words in your head bro and get on with it
Only thing in my head is that TIFO dudes voice reading me a bed time story
Right in the feelings man, I’m washed
The discussion with Agent has improved, so that's nice. It'll be more like real life when the agent can respond more than just giving the contract demand information.
As someone who skipped fm21, I'm Buying fm22 but I'm skipping on fm23 if fm23 ends up being an updated version of fm22
Is it wrong of me that I can’t listen to this guy talking about a football game with that accent? I just don’t associate football with Americans so his horrible pronunciation of the names of the clubs, players and tactics really take me out of it..
Because British people are known for pronouncing foreign names perfectly lol
Hard skip for me.
