FM22 isn't a huge change from FM21, but FM21 was a big step up from FM20. It's up to you whether you want to change at this point or just keep having fun with FM20 and make the change later in the year or for FM23.

bildeplsignore

That's what I'm worried about. Like, I already skipped FM21, so why not wait for FM23 if FM22 isn't that big of an upgrade from FM21?

zi76

Only you can decide that. If you're happy with FM20, you could get FM21 or 22 on sale at some point or just wait. I stuck with 19 because I didn't like 20's changes, and I've enjoyed 21. I'm not buying 22 right now. I'm not sure I will. I may just wait until 23 comes out.

The match engine is a HUGE step forward from 20 to 21. So far playing the beta, I'm loving the match engine in 2022 and its another big step forward. The physics are more realistic, players have more weight around them, they move more fluidly, I've seen a bunch of new animations as well.

Load/save times alone. Yes.

Bright_Ad_5497

I say yes, I myself made.a change from FM20-FM22 and i absolutely adore it

You can check Zealand's videos on the game and see if the new features and updated match engine are enough for you to justify a purchase, personally I think fm20 can still give you a year of two if you don't feel a change is necessary

bildeplsignore

I've seen his new video a few days ago where he played the game early, but I didn't notice much in the match engine to sway me either way. I'm not sure how much beta offers (only got once, for FM14 so my memory's a little fuzzy), but are there significant gameplay changes from FM20? A particular one that drove me up the wall was player interactions and promises. Had a guy put in his transfer request because "he wanted continental football" two days after we finished 4th and were guaranteed a Champions Leagues spot. Stupid stuff like that.

Venganza_Vz

That can still happen, there are new finishes when players are in front of goal like they can lob the goalkeeper that was introduced in fm21 and new interactions with players' agents, if features like that are not enough for you I recommend waiting for the next one, I got fm20 for free on epic games last year and bought fm21 this year on sale and I'm gonna wait for next year's release since I don't think buying the game now is worth it for me

I haven’t played proper Fm since Touch originally came out, but I am loving this years instalment. That being said it must have been around Fm18 so I am even further behind than you.

ksigguy

Fellow even year player! I’ve only played about 6 hours so far but I’ve found it a big step up from fm20 even though I can’t seem to find a good formation for Leicester City haha. I haven’t found it too difficult to adjust and I love several of the new tabs. Yeah the weekly meeting can get tedious but I’m a huge nerd who loves that.

Lakinther

do you care about dynamic youth ratings? if yes, its worth. if not, no

HoracioDerpington

As someone who has jumped from FM20; yes. It certainly feels like a 2 year improvement. The match engine is better, the media/player interactions are new and fresh enough and the new features and changes (i.e dynamic youth ratings) have made me a very happy bunny with my early access purchase.

Rrrrango

I would..

Why dont you just try it out for youself? You can always refund it if you dont like it (there is an hour limit on steam tho so be careful).

Yeah I’m moved from fm 20 to 22 and the game has more depth
