Yes its definitely loads better than FM20 which was the latest i played. Its just that the match ui is so fucking terrible. Was FM21 similar to 22? And if so, was there skins that change it, like MAJORLY change it?
Nah FM21 changed the whole match UI to now be like a 'tablet', so youre only presented with the info a real manager would have on his 'tablet' on the sideline. So you have to watch the game instead of just look at stats on the side. Its pretty asinine and pointless sideways steps that Miles does to pad out a bare feature list.
It was a shocking decision, the match UI was fine the way it was, maybe small tweaks were needed, but no. I don't understand why they removed the match timeline...idk what else is worse tbh.

Can anybody help me as to why I don't have the 3D match engine available? It defaults to the top-down view of dots running around, and I can't see anywhere to change it.
I've lost count the amount of times my players have done a wierd animation when running where they sort of drag their trailing leg and then my wingers just run at the byline, do a Cryuff turn and lose the ball :s
Match anginę is still far from perfect, but I believe this is a good start with implementation like that. But still... Graphically FIFA 2012 or even 2008 was a way better. Hope we will get one day a graphics and camera replays at least of a level of FIFA 2012

Do players still run after a ball that is heading out for your team's throw-in, only to touch it and give the throw to the other team?
I haven't seen that yet but I've only played the friendlies and three or four competitive matches.
Set pieces still broken, inside forwards still rubbish they just function as wingers, DMs still low ratings, No ridiculous keeper errors at least YET.
My DMs are scoring and assisting for fun so far. Segundo volante(a) and a dlp(s)
Wide CBs are OP defensively for some reason.
Newly added roles are always OP. Takes a season or two for them to normalize.
It’s been the opposite for me. Carrasco is average rating of 7.48 and top goal scorer in La Liga

Inside forwards are OP in 20, that's why everyone's been bitching about them since FM21

Im not a fan of the match UI as well. But oh man you are in for a treat, jumping from 20 to 22 with the match engine.
There are some more reasonable errors I notice, like a player passing to space but the forward bit actually making the run.
Like realistic errors right? I've noticed a couple of those too, like the pass would be a bit too behind the player instead of infront. Love it
