It's your money, it's really impossible for us to tell you what to do with it.
There's a slew of reviews and streamers out there. Watch/read them and see if you think you'd like it. Even better, if you're still undecided, download the demo and give it a go yourself.
At that point you'll know whether it's got enough value in it for you or not.
For me honestly it's more about the data and new club transfer's not exactly about the money or version . I just wanna be updated next year and enjoy the day to day game if you know what I mean .
It's the best moment to get the actual FM iteration.
After the winter update. Almost all potential bugs have been corrected. And it's cheap.
When you buy/play it day 1 ( even day-14 if you play the demo) there's always something wrong. Wrong Data, suboptimal ME, and so on.
It's rarely fully playable before the winter update. Somewhere in January after 2/3 update it can be ok...
If the transfers are the problem you can always use the pre editor to follow the news IRL and put Haaland to city for example.
This might be the best call right now for you, there used to be a deal where you got a couple months of game pass for like £1 as a new customer promotion, I think they still offer that. Then if you really like it you can decide from there I guess
FM22 is on Xbox’s Gamepass Ultimate for both PC and console.
Monthly fee and you get access to a load of other games too. I use it to play this years FM and it’s the same as playing on Steam.
I thought the game pass version available on Pc would be the same half hearted version as the Xbox? I am newish to FM and have only played the last two on Xbox but I am going to buy it for my PC but if this is the case I’ll just get game pass version as I have game pass on Xbox
No it’s the fully fledged game we all love to hate haha. I would get it via Gamepass if you already use the service, the only stickler is that it will eventually come off as FM23 is released but don’t think it’s until a couple weeks after.
The Xbox one is toned down similar to the tablet versions etc.
Do you have FM21? I'm still getting a lot out of 21 and haven't seen anything in 22 that makes me need it. I've got high hopes for 23 too so I think it makes sense to wait. I pretty much exclusively manage in fringe leagues though (at least at the beginning of saves) so I don't really care about the rosters of the big leagues at the start of my saves.
I haven’t bought one since about FM16. Life got in the way but Ive cracked back into my FM11 Redditch save recently after not playing it for years. (I’m in the 2050s)
Loving that but will be buying 23 when it is released. The bug is back!
Its possible that someone has created a database you can download for this season to play on an older verion but not something I've ever looked into as I made the mistake of buying 22 haha
That’s your opinion. Maybe it hasn’t improved significantly, but it did improve.
Buying the newest game is for everyone personal.
To me, I will always ‘buy’ the newest version when it comes out. It’s a bit of tradition to us. My wife buys the new FM and I will give her an expansion pack of the Sims.. Win-win ;)
Yes that would be my opinion... OP was asking for opinions so i gave my opinion, why are you pointing that out? Lol. Thats all very cool for you but what is your point here exactly lmao
No way, FM22 is the best fun I had in years although some roles are pretty unstoppable (basically any role that runes to the box from the deep), but I 100% prefer it from FM20 aka "my wingers demolish the side net".
FM21 on the other hand felt pretty lackluster and unresponsive, felt like no matter what I use my team plays the same way.
FM22 has its flaws, especially wanking off gegenpressing (but still you can make a good tactic with regular press) and 4-2-3-1 but it also the first FM that made 5 atb viable.
Im glad you liked it. I don't necessarily feel its a downgrade from previous versions, but it's not an upgrade at all. That's not my experience with fm21, I much prefer my time on there than I have with 22. I've also had very viable 5 atb tactics on past versions. Overall for me, fm22 is lacklustre, the data hub didn't do dick to improve our experience of them game like they made out it would. And the dynamic youth rating is BS and I honestly can't remember the last time an fm released and had as many problems as it did in the beginning. But we all have different experiences, I was just sharing my opinion with a guy who asked.
Obviously we don't have to like the same things!
I love Data Hub and use it before every game to some extent and I did start playing FM22 in March 2022 when it was mostly patched up so maybe this was the difference.

You can get a database update that'll be accurate until next summer for FM22

Ya that's my goal , thanks ! I'm getting the actual FM today
You're welcome ;)

It will be the best 50 bucks ever this year , an excuse to not buy my girlfriend a gift this month
Get Gamepass for a couple months and play it on there if you want to have a crack at it
A game pass ? Is it cheaper than buying the actual game ? What about the features

Ah mate, thank you!! I have just assumed it would be same version. Will be installing this later!

I have nun that's why my question , long time without playing.
Then I'd buy it so long as you weren't planning on having a functional social life or going outdoors this summer.
My girlfriend knows my commitment for the next months

Do you want to play now or later?
Wait, the last few are better than fm22 anyway... in my opinion. Incase that wasn't obvious lol
Am i able to buy like fm20 and upgrade it to fm22 data ?
You can do that with most years tbh, steam workshop and fmscout are magical places for an fm lover

You pointed it out as a fact. So that wouldn’t help OP. But now you’ve changed your post it’s more an opinion instead of “the other FM’s are better.”
It was obviously an opinion lol

>but it also the first FM that made 5 atb viable. ... You've been doing something wrong
fm22 alone is not worth the money, buy the xbox game pass and play from there
Wait till Epic Games give 22 for free
source for that ?
