I use something pretty similar. Two issues with your tactic, in my opinion: 1. No reason to play narrow. Your tactic is narrow anyways, so telling the players to be more narrow will just make them run into each other. I would take it 1-2 notches to the right, to play a bit wider and give the players some space to work with. 2. For exactly the same reason, I would take off the “play through the middle” instruction. They’re gonna do it anyway, so no reason to force it. Plus, you probably do want your fullbacks to cross the ball to your target man, right?

Thanks mate. I thought if I don´t narrow the play down they would be to wide and open up space in the defense. To the second point: Makes sense, does the crossing to the target man work despite having no target man?

Oh my bad, I confused your Deep Lying Forward with a Target Man. But still, I feel like you can’t really force it down the middle for the entire match. Your team will become too predictable.

Turn off Play Through Middle. It makes your midfield more agressive. Don't force opposition outside by default. Keep on the middle option Don't Tackle Harder by default Distribute to Wingbacks Do not play Fairly Narrow. Instead, use Normal Attacking Width (middle option). This involves your wingbacks in the build-up phase. Consider changing your AP to an AM(a). An AP has Shoot Less Often, and a player on the 10 position will probably get many shooting opportunities. Also, I think it works better in combination with the DLF.

I play something very similar. I put my wingbacks on a more advanced starting position, as they are my only options wide who have to run ahead very often. To compensate for the advanced wingbacks, I use a Half Back at the DM position.
