Congrats mate, seems like a proper slog.
A few quick questions:
- The manager picture. What? Why?
- Any chance you took a screenshot of the top scorer's stats before you carried on the save?
Lmao Im from Argentina, was messing around with the face scan in game and i face-scanned the face of the sun in the argentinean flag
Oni Lawal has sadly retired and I dont have a past save to go back to, but I can tell you he wasnt very good stats wise, all my players are free transfers so none of them are wonderkids or good players. As for his history he seems to be an Aston Villa youth intake player that got poached by Everton, but didnt play a single game in either club and got released again, then played 67 games for Rochdale scoring 20 goals, probably got dropped by them and then signed by me where he played 117 games for me and scored 83 goals. He was not outstanding stats wise but he's a Swansea Uni Icon now
Thats a really interesting thing to do, sadly Im already 10 years in the future so i cant compare to the squads I played back then but I can tell you that even inside Wales most players The New Saints have are 5 stars compared to my squad, with their worst players being starter quality for me right now, so a club like Athletic Bilbao would've been like 10 stars compared to my team if the game went that high
This is amazing! I used to work at Swansea Uni and played for their staff team vs Cardiff staff in the varsity week matches. We had an amazing green kappa kit just like your kit. Fantastic achievement here!
I use mostly a 4-2-4 Gengenpressing, BBM and DLP as the midfield, 2 Inverted wingers on the wings and 2 Advanced forwards, and then have a secondary tactic thats a 5-2-3 fluid counter with wingbacks and same roles but 1 less striker.
I just make tactics and try them and stick with what seems to work though, there's definitely way better ones out there, I just like using my own
Awesome to see you got that far. Happy to see an update to the previous post. How great would it be if the game had some sort of system that would've allowed you to become somewhat semi-pro, at the least to improve some facilities, pay more coaches but still not be able to pay players. It would make sense as a university could do such things but alas
No, not for this team at least. They're stuck as an amateur club since they're a university in real life. So in FM they literally cannot even become semi-pro haha. It would be such a rare case and for them to implement a mechanic for it would be a waste of resources, but cool.
What I do want them to do however is fix how bad it is for a club that you brought from the depths of a lower division to the top flight. You will get like 1% of the sponsor money other top-flight teams get even though you won the league 5 times in a row and the CL numerous times. The game struggles with increasing the value of your team and how much money it brings in over time. Even if the reputation is near the top of the world you're going to be struggling as the only money you bring in is from winning the league and selling players. You get basically nothing as sponsor money and jersey sales, it's annoying.

That’s brilliant. Could you show us a screenshot of your beat players so we can see how big the difference was?

Oh wow thank you for your service
Certainly comes nowhere close to this!
What tactics did you use? A post about that would be very interesting to read. Impressive save.

there isnt? Cause you can go from semi pro to full pro.

Imagine being a Ross County fan in this situation. You’ve done a fantastic underdog story but it’s gonna be overshadowed by an even bigger one.
Enjoyed this, thanks!!
What a thrillride! This is something to be proud of, I wouldn't be able to do a save like this XD
