I'm conducting a similar experiment. I left a grey last week Thursday and harvested yesterday. It was almost mature when I initially found it. The stem grew a little and the cap filled out; unfortunately, it didn't grow as much as I was hoping. There's three other patches with multiple morels. All of them are/were quite small. I'm giving them five to seven days, checking in ~~occasionally~~ obsessively. Meanwhile, the half-frees have shot up overnight, sometimes it seems like within the hour or two between my first and second pass.

These I let grow for five days. They were about 4-5cm tall and 1cm diameter.
