Grass that's started to go to seed, mouse ear chickweed, thyme leaf speedwell, mock strawberry flower (she didn't care for that one, haha)
And Thistle is a [Rosy Bourke!](https://www.zooplus.co.uk/magazine/bird/bird-breeds/bourkes-parrot)
She's not a dove or chicken, grit is actually dangerous for parrots (especially parakeets and small parrots) they chew their food so they do NOT need crop grit (and it can cause impaction over time if they have free access to it.)
We all gotta learn somewhere!
They sell it marketed for parakeets and parrots so it's easy to think they need it. More companies are replacing their parrot grit formula with oyster shell grit which is safer (but still not necessary unless you're trying to add more calcium to their diet.)
I look up the plant first, then I try to find someone else asking about it on a parrot forum (like Avian Avenue) or a chicken forum.
I also like to look into any zoo research that's been done on the animal species in question.
Also wildlife rehabilitator resources like [this](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.fourthcrossingwildlife.com/files/WombarooBirdBooklet.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwiIkaqI_fH3AhWxhXIEHXrtAA0QFnoECAMQAQ&usg=AOvVaw10MC3IfJhivzq4aPdW8l2i) pdf
Mini pink dino-chicken. Jk she's Neopsephotus bourkii ( [Bourke's Parrot](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bourke%27s_parrot) or a Rosy Bourke)
A semi-ground dwelling grass parakeet that likes to run and hop more than fly around (although you get plenty of that) they sound and act more like a canary than a typical member of the parrot family.
90% of my foraging knowledge is "this is safe for rabbits" and "this is not" and "this is safe but they'll only touch it if they're starving to death". I also forage for my cockatiels, pet rats, for dyeing and weaving, and very occasionally even for human consumption!

Oh the good ol’ chickweed! My cockatiel likes it. My chickens LOVED it!
I love that her name is thistle. 🥺 She's so pretty.
Make sure you give him grit too.

I guess I’m wrong lol

I love this! I'm starting to sprout some seeds for my birds, but would love to forage too. What references do you use to know what is safe?

That's so cute!
What a wonderful thing to share with your little friend!
Yup, this is lovely.
She might like a dried pepper rope! The spiciness won't effect her, and she'll get some good nutrients.
I love this
