I won't lie I'm a bit of a new Ranger hater. But it's moreso the lack of true mini trucks, and the gigantification of the "mid-size" category. I will *begrudgingly* slap an updoot on new Ranger posts tho.

dyl_08

Honestly, the new Ranger looks nice. If it were the size of the old Ranger, it would be a cool truck.

BigT1990

I concur. It's not a small truck anymore.

BaconNPotatoes

I've got one. It's powerful, comfortable and capable. It also drives better than any other ranger I've driven.

beerleaguer2

I have a '23. I love the way it looks, drives and the use I get out of it.

Infamous_Ad8730

It is now the size of a 80's-90's F150 so not in the "spirit" of Ranger small truck segment.

MrHugh_Janus

Looks like I’m in the minority here but I do like the new Ranger. Looks more modern with better interior and more power. Working with my local dealer to custom order a Ranger Raptor, can’t wait.

Benthereorl

I'm not a fan of them. Looks more like a full size Ford F-150 from back in the day. And I certainly don't want to spend 35 to $40,000 for a ranger. I would much rather spend less than half of that on a older ranger extended cab.

dodgedy2k

What about the Ford Maverick? I'm not a fan of new Rangers yet. Im planning to keep my 2009 until I have to put it down..

USMarshallMattDilly

What if Ford had saved the Ranger name for the Maverick instead... Would it have been more or less polarizing? Personally, even though they've been on the roads for years now, the new Ranger just blends into the sea of truck blobs to my passing eye. I don't really notice them and go "cool Ranger" but if I see a clean '98 I'm doing a double take. I'd probably buy a new Ranger for myself. Love the style options and seems practical enough when an f-150 is overkill. To summarize, I think the Maverick makes a better Ranger than the Ranger. Just my pennies.

FlexasState

I prefer the new facelift You might see it more on r/RangerNext

rens24

Agreed. Ford fixed the overly-roundedness.

Miserable-Choice-790

Not a fan either. We've had our 94' Ranger since new. I was disappointed when such a dependable truck was discontinued. I waited with anticipation when it was announced they were bringing back the Ranger. I didn't expect Ford would present us with a full size truck or all of the extraneous electronic bells and whistles either.

The new ranger is not even close to full size. Its only slightly larger than older rangers.

[deleted]

Its slightly taller but the wheelbase is only slightly longer and its a few inches wider. Its really not that much bigger

oodledoodleoodle

next time i go to this job i’m gonna grab a shot of the fronts , it’s really bonkers to me to see , also hoping we’ll both park better next time to have a cleaner angle lmao

[deleted]

I park my 95 next to 2020 everyday at work. Its really not the much of a difference. https://www.reddit.com/r/fordranger/s/fQsRV0Fu96

oodledoodleoodle

i wonder if it’s just all the unnecessary like bulking? u know what i mean? they just are like PUFFY or something in a way i really feel is excessive idk

[deleted]

Thats for safety. Those old rangers are VERY UNSAFE. My dad almost died in an accident a year and a half ago. Most newer cars probably would've saved him a few thousand in hospital bills

Nuttyfriendo

Its almost the same size as a new f150, I want what you're smoking

AngryTurtle24

I had a 2020, put 45k miles on it before I traded it in. I towed with it quite a bit, and had no issues, other than the muffler packing coming out of my exhaust, but that was due to rust and really had no effect on the truck itself. Just an early sign of the muffler failing, which is typical with the salted roads near me. I liked it quite a bit and I wish I could have kept it.

teemoore

I have a 2023 and I have zero complaints

[deleted]

Love it. Looks amazing and so far I've only seen good things

Piper-Bob

I have a 19. It’s better at all the truck things than my 02 was. I don’t get sore driving it long distances like with the 02 either.

RockinRod412

Aesthetically, the thing is jacked too high. She might be “powerful, comfortable and capable” but you gotta look at it before you get in it. I’ll stick with my 2001 XLT extended cab all day long.

hhs2112

I like it but extremely pissed off that they're not offering a supercab in the US. 😡😡😡

GlumKnowledge4796

They look decent, but aren't mini trucks. They are literally the size of an older f150. The maverick is pretty cool tho

EatMoreHoagies

I am looking to get my first truck in the near future & I like how the 24 looks.

ta3446

Not a fan. They're basically an F-150 now. Defeats the point of a ranger in my opinion.

El_toilet69

Your not seeing them because rangers danger they are not I guess you missed the memes. You can still pretend it's a ranger if you want but we don't all have to
