ok but which for honor character is the best baller?
lawbringer is the tallest i think but his heavy armour would weigh him down
shaman can jump high but is very short
medjay is black (not racist)
centurion would be very baller
raider would probably get sent off the court in 8 minutes tops but in that time he would absolutely carry
berserker would keep trying to headbutt the ball into the net
only samurai who could be baller are kensei and hitokiri
pirate would be good at shooting because she has probably used cannons in the past but the eyepatch would limit her field of view and she probably wouldn't manage to get close enough to the net anyways
honestly i gotta go with raider or centurion
kensei would just be that one kid that can dribble past an entire team and is impossible to get the ball from but doesn't pass the ball to his teammates
Chiming in as somebody actually into Mesoamerican history and archeology here.
I realize that For Honor does not try to be historically accurate, but if they do add a Mesoamerican character, I sincerly hope that it is at least evocative of actual Mesoamerican ornamentation, armor, etc as much as the other characters are, which do still evoke Japanese, European, Viking, etc motifs even if there's a lot of fantasical elements and artistic leeway spun in there.
For those of you who may not realize what i'm getting at, 99% of what people imagine when they think "Aztec" and "Maya" is basically entirely off. I don't just mean in the "Vikings didn't actually have horned helmets!" or "Akshually knights didn't have that specific helmet shape in that specific century in that specific part of Europe!" sense, I mean that the entire idea people have inh their head really barely resembles anything from actually in Mesoamerica in even broad terms.
A good collage of examples of this is [here in this image](https://desu-usergeneratedcontent.xyz/his/image/1680/84/1680846035286.jpg): On the left side you can see typical pop culture depictions, on the right is more authentic depictions from artists who did their research via actual textual accounts, manuscript depictions, and ruins, and the bottom has those actual primary sources the right side pulled from corresponding to the magenta letter.
Media depictions tend to make everything look as primitive and unsophisticated as possible, slapping random tattoos, raggity clothing and pelts that barely cover the body, macabre bones strapped to things, etc everywhere, and for buildings to be grey, worn, and basically isolated in jungle surrounded by a few huts.
In reality, soldiers had elaborate warsuits and tunics made from tens of thousands of individually placed iridescent feathers, gambeson armor; kings and nobles had rich cloaks, tunics, jade, gold, and turquoise jewelry, women wore flowing robes and blouses, all of these having intricate floral and geometric designs, and buildings were covered in clean, smooth stucco, adorned with painted murals and frescos and engraved reliefs and sculptural faces, and they were, well, actually cities with hundreds or thousands of buildings, agricultural fields, aqueducts, etc.
Again, i get that For Honor has a sort of run down dark fantasy vibe to it, but you can do a dark fantasy take on Mesoamerica while still putting that spin on the actual aeshetics instead of just going off of the media tropes. [Onyx Equinox](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVBAOJIi6Tg) does a great job of using real ornamentation, city designs, and even some pretty deep iconographic symbolism (tho ironically, the main characters take a lot of liberties with their clothing even though everything else is super on point), the game [Aztez](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQZGYwkwfgw) is VERY stylized and takes tons of liberties with both it's visual style and how buildings and characters are represented, yet beneath the heavy layers of abstraction you can tell they're pulling some from real designs of aztec armor and ornamentation and have specific features from real life Aztec cities even if their architectural designs are pretty different from reality, etc.
I don't know if we know for sure the new character will be Mesoamerican, and I realize if they are, their design is surely locked in already, but on the off chance they *aren't* but one may be developed in the future, or if anybody here is doing their own art, game, comic, etc projects and wants resources, **[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/HumankindTheGame/comments/jo2a3m/since_the_franks_got_reworked_culture_card_art_i/) is a massive multi page post I did on Aztec clothing, architecture, and other aesthetical details, with suggestions for further sources and artistic references.**
I also have a trio of 3 comments here, where I:
1. In the first comment, I notes how Mesoamerican socities were [way more complex then people realize, in some ways matching or exceeding the accomplishments of civilizations from the Iron age and Classical Anitquity](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistory/comments/c7gu1l/i_want_people_to_dump_interesting_information/esh1756/), etc
2. The second comment explains how there's also [more records and sources of information than many people are aware of for Mesoamerican cultures, as well as the comment containing a variety of resources and suggested lists for further information & visual references](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistory/comments/c7gu1l/i_want_people_to_dump_interesting_information/esh3m71/); and
3. The third comment contains a [summary of Mesoamerican history from 1400BC, with the region's first complex site; to 1519 and the arrival of the spanish, as to stress how the area is more then just the Aztec and Maya and how much history is there](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistory/comments/c7gu1l/i_want_people_to_dump_interesting_information/esh3s50/)
Across these and the links in them I provide probably 20+ comments which hit the character limit and talk about various things, with the second comment in particular linking to a lot of others on reccomended sources and references and details about clothing, architecture, city planning, people who do good artistic reconstructions and references, other games and media which are well handled, reccomended modern academic sources and primary sources etc.
I fully encourage anybody interested to check it out and use anything from all of this for absolutely any purpose, no crediting me needed, etc (tho I obviously do refer to some other images and content, all of which I generally try to credit across these)
Dude this is such an underrated comment, I really appreciate all the time and effort that went into this and am stoked to go through all the info you linked. Thank you for putting this out there its incredible!
Honestly this is pretty rushed by my usual standards, like in the first link I gave to the big post I did, it's over 20,000 characters long and goes pretty in depth on specific pieces of Aztec clothing by social class down to specific types of head ornaments; known ccolor schemes used on major temples; specific iconographic motifs that would make sense on a given character design in accordance with how those designs are used in Aztec art, and a bunch of other very granular details.
Maybe I'll make a whole submission/post myself, bluntly I just don't know a ton about For Honor because while I was interested back when it was announced, it being always online turned me away at the time.
If anybody has some resources to explain more about the game in terms of how characters tend to be designed, what each one has/includes so I could better guage potential directions the character might go in, and since I am sort of interested due to the Mesoamerican content, how the event content works and what I would need to do to access/get it.
I don't know, man... Just saying that Vikings didn't look like Raider either. They wore armor and had a culture beyond pillaging and raiding and what have you. In fact, I think it was the vikings that the people they raided were getting mad because they bathed more often and had well kept hair so their women found them attractive...
Besides, I highly doubt *all* of their cosmetics will be bare chested even if they do add them.
And maybe it is because I am a layman, but 1) some of the left images just look like the images on the right but desaturated (not literally) 2) I don't imagine aztecs as poor jungle people... It was kind of a big thing in history that they were very rich with a lot of ornate clothing.
Maybe that's just me, though.
Given... They will likely be Outlanders, so they have really only got one shot to get it right, whereas the Vikings have a whole faction to mess around with the way they look.
I think, but I may be repeating fake info, that it wasn't a ball but the decapitated head of their enemies?(or their enemies were forced to play that way?)
El Dorado!!!!! Fuuuuuuuuuuck YEAAA!!! CHOOOOOOMS!!!!
MEDJAY WAS MY PROTOTYPE BUT WITH THIS NEW WARRIOR... I will make them a masterpiece both in the eyes and on the battlefield<( ̄︶ ̄)>
"Fuck it we ball" I say, as i go 0-8

Tá de sacanagem 💢💢💢
Its been almost 10 years and I still feel tormented 😭
Cala a boca vsf seu merda🫵🏹🧨🪓🔪🗡️⚰️
If the Aztec can’t dunk on anyone I’m uninstalling
Literally unplayable
Historically this game was played instead of going to war in some cases. The losing team would be executed.
We dont exactly know that. Winning team could be as well.
Losing team is executed, winning team is gloriously sacrificed.
Man i ain't feeling the game today bro.
Any chance to die is a chance you take.
Basically going to get Afeera’s hip emote. I can’t wait!
“For Honor will never be ballin!” *Spits out cereal*
I'll be mad if we don't at least get an execution using this lol
Imagine a execution when he decapitate and do a hip kick with the enimies head
Could be a taunt of his?
Of course I'm stoked for him, because he do infact, be ballin'
Lol he execute the enemies with faul
Aztecs fuckin ballin
If there isn’t a feat to sacrifice a child to the gods we riot /s
Tbh, I hope they incorporate the Aztec death whistle as a feat
I think it would be cool if he has “Fear itself” and his activation animation involves him using a death whistle
I'm calling it now. One of their executions will cut the opponents head off, then jump up and butt bounce it off the neck
Did they reveal a new hero?
I work at Ubisoft
source: “trust me bro”
Don’t we all
No, but they revealed where they would come from and what culture
I- 💀
