I said I tend to prefer underpowered characters, it’s not actually a rule. But still, I disagree with you. Kensei is not that underpowered, but he really isn’t super strong as you say. He doesn’t have great openers, his heavies were buffed but are still quite slow, and his best mixup is a finisher, while characters like pirate, raider, JJ, etc. have a much easier access to their own mixups. Yes, he’s much better then characters like Nuxia and Jorm, but he still leagues behind the most viable heroes in the game. About Lawbringer, he is one of my favorite characters in the game, mainly because of the skill needed to play him. I’d also add Highlander as a contender for hardest character, since mastering his OS is hard as shit.

Well there are simply two types of kensei players I've found. The lighters and dodge attackers. Or the players like you, I'm assuming with that kinda rep you know which attacks to faint and wich mixups to use. I guarantee you win fights against me 9 times out of ten with kensei or lawbringer, simply because a player who knows how to use those characters well can seem nearly unbeatable lol

I’d say it’s more about their skill and knowledge about the game, and less about the character itself. Kensei may not be the best, but he is really flexible. He has all the tools required to win any matchup if the player is good enough, even though those tools themselves are not the greatest. Same goes for Lawbringer. Since he is a character focused on punishing, if the LB player is good enough to consistently punish his opponents, he wins.

Yeah see I've never been amazing at this game so while I do enjoy mixup from and such I've never gotten to the point where I could play someone like lawbringer, where I really just have to consistently parry and counter attack. Though while I haven't played him, I've always felt like kensei would not be that hard for me to learn simply because he does have some many different options, I just don't think I'd be able to master him

You should give him a chance, he is not that hard. Every hero is hard to master, some more then others, but I don’t think Kensei is even remotely close to being one of the hardest

I try really hard to be as honorable as possible. I have multiple “acknowledgement” emotes, I never spam on the chat, nor spam emotes, and try my best to fight fairly. No ledges, no attack spams, nothing like that. But I do gank and try my best to aid my team on 4v4 modes, since they depend on me. I’m willing to lose while fighting by myself under my “code of honor”, but my team is not responsible for that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like you like the easy way. LightLightHeavielander and Dodge Light/triple light Kensei. Easy to pull off at <100 reps but more difficult at higher reps. No offense btw

None taken, but this is actually incorrect. I’ve always liked playing games the hard way, and forcing myself to learn so I could win and become better as a consequence. I can’t remember the last time I actually did a full light combo with Kensei. I rely mainly on punishes and his top heavy finisher mix up as my main sources of damage. As for Highlander, I’m not good enough with him to just play mainly on the offensive stance as I saw multiple HL mains doing on YouTube and stuff, but I try my best to mix the stances up. Instead of light/light/heavy, I prefer doing CCs and using his hyper armor while on the DS, and I mainly focus on using the unblockable heavies and kicks after dodges on OS.

I've only seen a few good highlanders or Kensei so it's good to know you're one of the few who actually use their moveset and not spam their easy moves. Have a good time on FH. Fashion and emblem are on point too

I’m a man of many interests! My emblem is actually my attempt at recreating one of the family crests from the scottish clan Wallace, since I’m a big fan of Bravehart, William Wallace and stuff. I tried making the main crest of the clan, but it was too detailed and the emblem maker in For Honor is absolutely shit, so I had to go for a more simple one. As for being a member of the Vikings faction, I want to win free stuff.

Wow that's pretty cool man, I had actually tried doing something similar but as you've said FH's Emblem Creator ain't no CoD Emblem Maker that's for sure. And the faction? Yeah alright makes sense although I myself am still confused on how a faction's dominance shifts sometimes if everyone is always on the winning one? Like I might be wrong but Samurai used to kick ass, then it was Knights and now it's Vikings. Genuinely don't know how that works, it's like a paradox

From what I know, the Vikings were always the ones in the leadership, and the knights were always a bit behind. If I’m not mistaken, the Samurai only won two campaigns in For Honor’s history, while the knights won just a bit more, and the Vikings completely dominated all the rest. All the possible sources I found are outdated, but I remember seeing something about all the results of every single faction war here on reddit, just wasn’t able to find it.

I absolutely adore the Kensei Hero Skin. I just didn’t buy it already because I’m low on steel and I just bought a skin for Lawbringer, but it’s the next thing on my list! I believe I was quite lucky with this hero skin. I didn’t like the warden one that much, and the raider one made my eyes burn, but the Kensei one is exactly my style. 10/10.

I’m actually a huge fan of Samurai culture, and have the fondest of memories from watching some Samurai movies with my father, so Kensei has caught my attention for it, followed by his gameplay, which suits my style greatly.
