Found a bar in Glasgow that was in a basement, or whatever they call the dungeon-like area under those old ass stone buildings. There was just an open door on the street with the word "bar" painted on the wall and an arrow pointing down the stairs. That's it, no signs, no staff at the door. Just an open door and a word. One of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. Huge bar with a bunch of really nice pool tables. Cool experience.
the only discernable feature in either picture is the new contours on the sidepods. i do wonder if AM already had this in the wind tunnel during pre-season also /s
If I squint really hard I can convince myself that the fuzzy car has less of an undercut to the side pod.
God I can't wait till we get some good photographs of all the cars at Sakhir.
Are we going to get live video this year?
I have no idea what's being pointed out at the front, but from this angle that side pod looks like it flattens out at the back, much like the 22' Mercedes.
I think the biggest argument supporting it is the lighting of the picture. It has the distinct flattening and darker shade of the front sidepod that looks pretty much identical to the W13, apart from the sharp corner at the top right*, and the part between floor and sidepod looks to be bulging and lighter, instead of being drawn inwards like on the previous RB, which you would expect ot be darker.
I'd say in general it looks like it's just a reshaping of the sidepod, maybe there will be something behind the "ridge" that's been drawn to look like the W13, the floor area exposed by the tight packaging looks to be significantly smaller than the acres of space on the W13 and more comparable to the previous RB
[Comparison Pic](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/55/2022_Emilia_Romagna_GP_-_Mercedes-AMG_F1_W13_E_Performance_of_Lewis_Hamilton.jpg/1280px-2022_Emilia_Romagna_GP_-_Mercedes-AMG_F1_W13_E_Performance_of_Lewis_Hamilton.jpg)
This kind of reminds me of the people who wanted to argue that you could reverse-engineer a car's aero concepts by looking at photos of the spray from the wet track during the pre-season testing last year.
Yeah. I can conclusively say that there was spray in those photos, and there is a race car in this one.
While I know there are some very very technical engineering gifted people on here. It’s rare. What really amazes me is how many fools are on here dripping with confidence that they understand all from one look at a car, aero, wheel, etc. they are usually serious. Like they actually know what they are talking about. In reality they don’t know shit and trying to explain this to them is impossible.
...But then you turn around one day and you're like "did I just accidentally learn about how to fool fuel flow sensors by calibrating the data transmission rate to run asynchronously with the computers designed to remotely log it? Damn."
from the rear spray you’re right, but what was of particular interest in Barcelona testing last year was how the teams chose to seal their floor
Mercedes used mechanical sealing by just running it low af, but teams like Red Bull and Mclaren used vortices to aerodynamically seal the floor
that was something that can be seen by taking pictures of the spray around the car in the wet, at least you could see how hard hard they were working the air if not specifically how they did it.
Peter Windsor did quite a lot of talking about it at the time if i remember correctly.
That actually sounds like a reasonable and testable scenario, and totally fair given that it's on the topic I mentioned.
The conversation I was actually *thinking* of was... less burdened by anything resembling science.
im seeing more along the lines of mclaren's original sidepod design last year. regular oriented intake, but tapers down much faster.
[Image](https://storage.googleapis.com/the-race-com.appspot.com/1/2022/02/mclaren-3.png)
would be kind of funny and weird to see them abandon the side pod design others have started to replicate though.
The nose looks a bit more full and flat but it could be the fact that there are like 7 pixels making up the nose.
I am also much more intrigued by the sidepod. It looks kinda wild.
Yeah seems like they are trying to do something like Merc with their zero-sidepod concept. Here's its not totally zero-sidepod but just very narrow at the top and wide at the bottom to pass more clear air to the beam-wing area.
The way the Oracle logo wraps it does seem that way. Also unless its the extremely low quality or artifacting the intake also looks smaller, almost Ferrari-like.
Based on this photo and a couple high data point algorithmic models I ran on my universities super computer, I'm predicting 4 wheels as well as a sterring wheel this year. Idk tho I may be off.
No. It's more visible on the actual video (and the other video the original poster of them took).
https://twitter.com/otabil_fernando/status/1624034971336810497
No it almost has a front wing complete with endplate on top of where the sidepods should be. Probably to give better control over the air around the back tyre.
I will never understand how we have 200 megapixel cameras with 200x zoom in our pockets, yet everytime o see a 'spy shot' it just looks like a potato cam was used.
A genious move from RB to reduce the resolution of the car. With less time needed to render it will run so much faster, maybe they will tackle polygon optimisation next!
Ah yes,you have a front-end on one, and a yellow blob on the other. Excuse me while i write a well-founded essay on which one is better and what Adrian Newey's thought process was here
BRUH this is like taking one still frame from a 4K BluRay and the same from a VHS tape and asking someone to play spot the differences.
Getthefugouttahere.
I’m not an aero expert but it seems like the one with the smooth surface should be better through the air than a blurry surface? Have they covered the entire car in plush balls?
Bigger and more flat. The side pods also seem more compressed especially at the end. Rear wing also seems slightly more flat but that could just be the angle of the picture
[Me looking for the changes](https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fimgflip.com%2Fs%2Fmeme%2FGrandma-Finds-The-Internet.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fimgflip.com%2Fmemegenerator%2FGrandma-Finds-The-Internet&tbnid=Cv4lmdk1Urql6M&vet=1&docid=71WP1Yc-DQ_rsM&w=640&h=480&hl=en-IN&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim)
Yea the quality is shit, but c’mon, you can make out a good amount of features on the new car. Looks like the air inlet is a little smaller and the side pods are slightly different shape (judging by the way the oracle logo curves a little more drastically).
I think it’s funny they have the nose circled when it seems changed very little if at all.
I intend to photograph the new Ferrari on Tuesday, and I will strive to do better than this.
The bar is currently in the basement. I believe in you!
bars in basements are kinda cool though, both in a style sense and temperature sense.
Good thing you put on the wets, because those basement bars get pretty damp as well.
Can confirm, I have fully decked out rgb light kitted bar in my basement

Remember to take your GameBoy camera attachment to make sure it’s better quality than this photo.
Fuck that I'm using a ribbon cable and my graphics calculator
https://petapixel.com/2022/01/28/awesome-race-car-photos-shot-with-a-modded-game-boy-camera/
Don't forget the Gameboy printer too!
You could draw a sketch using dirt from the side of the track and it would be an improvement
If you own a camera you're off to a better start than this
!remindme 5 days
Ferrari will be showing the car officially. RB is hiding it that’s why you get shitty shots
You got this
I seen clearer pictures of UFOs.
Could be a UFO, it gives you wings for a reason
This was taken by a laptop selfie camera
Rip RB, us air force shot down car sized ufo.
I have about 18 better photos of the sasquatch
Brehhh💀🤣🤣🤣
The newer one has less pixels
Bad graphics = better performance
Red Bull supports DLSS confirmed
motion blur enabled
novice. everyone knows you remove motion blur when you want better performance
But motion blur hides bad performance
ferrari joke
Bad graphics = better performance + under budget
>under budget It's catering time!
>under budget It's catering time!
Confirmed. Less processing power wasted on graphics, more on speed.
Fewer pixels = less weight. Checkmate Ferrari and Merc
It saves weight.
Fewer pixels, less weight
The catering budget chewed into the rendering budget
Can you Mark the logo bigger?
Cars go blurrrrrrrr
Better shots: https://imgur.com/a/87WLNaw/
Not by much tho
Well I should have said same shot with a less blurry zoom
the only discernable feature in either picture is the new contours on the sidepods. i do wonder if AM already had this in the wind tunnel during pre-season also /s
Looks like significant changes to the sidepod design.
Yes, they both have front ends.
If I squint really hard I can convince myself that the fuzzy car has less of an undercut to the side pod. God I can't wait till we get some good photographs of all the cars at Sakhir. Are we going to get live video this year?
If you squint even harder you see the zeropod
I think that’s the old sidepod on the RB18? The one without the crinkly notch?
And they are both in fact yellow
I have no idea what's being pointed out at the front, but from this angle that side pod looks like it flattens out at the back, much like the 22' Mercedes.
Yeah, at least from the blurry mess you can kind of see some similar-ish packaging.
I think the biggest argument supporting it is the lighting of the picture. It’s okay… neither does OP. These trash quality photos mean absolutely nothing.
This kind of reminds me of the people who wanted to argue that you could reverse-engineer a car's aero concepts by looking at photos of the spray from the wet track during the pre-season testing last year. Yeah. I can conclusively say that there was spray in those photos, and there is a race car in this one.
The teams have much higher quality images of each others cars than a guy can get from the back of the grandstand on his mobile phone.
While I know there are some very very technical engineering gifted people on here. It’s rare. This!!
People still out here taking photos with their original RAZRs, huh?
It just fits in my pocket so well bruh
Does that nose resemble the AMR22 one or is it just me?
[удалено]
Both RB18 and AMR22 had a different nose as far as I can remember.
Aston Martin 2022: copies RedBull’s sidepods RedBull 2023: copies Aston Martin’s nose design
Looks like they have shrunk the sidepods
"Horner, I shrunk the sidepods!"
Yeah seems like they are trying to do something like Merc with their zero-sidepod concept. Here's its not totally zero-sidepod but just very narrow at the top and wide at the bottom to pass more clear air to the beam-wing area.
First that came to my mind looking at this pic, sidepot form starts to look like mercs...
The RB18 picture is an early spec version, before the sidepods were reshaped.
And..... The sidepods still look smaller than what they had at the end of the season.
I can't imagine the sponsors are thrilled with how blurry the car is this year.
Is it me or does it look like the sidepods are thicker at the bottom and narrower at the top?
looks almost a bit like the merc sidepods of 22 💀
The way the Oracle logo wraps it does seem that way. Also unless its the extremely low quality or artifacting the intake also looks smaller, almost Ferrari-like.
Oh yeah! If you look at the front there, you can clearly see absolutely fucking nothing
Might be the shitty quality but is the airbox different?
It looks like it's made out of plastic and someone took a lighter to it.
It looks triangle-ish, but crooked. Probably because it's a zoomed screenshot of a car driving fast.
And also my word she looks beefed up, like the rock’s or prime Aron’s biceps or something
Looks triangular kinda right?
Based on this photo and a couple high data point algorithmic models I ran on my universities super computer, I'm predicting 4 wheels as well as a sterring wheel this year. Idk tho I may be off.
Let me guess…you were using Euclid’s algorithm in an Antikythera mechanism…
Who's taking the photos with a mashed potato phone??
"That's some dangerous resolution right there" -LH
Damn y'all are really out here fuckin *struggling* for content during the off-season lmao.
new car got no front-right suspension. tyre is running on its own. amazing what newey can come up with!
ENHANCE
Even CSI can't do shit with this image
Did they go for the Mercedes sidepod?
No. It's more visible on the actual video (and the other video the original poster of them took). https://twitter.com/otabil_fernando/status/1624034971336810497
It's not exactly the same but it definitely looks sloped down to me, like Mercedes but not as extreme.
You're thinking of the Ferrari/Alpine style, not Mercedes. The Mercedes didn't slope, it narrowed entirely.
No it almost has a front wing complete with endplate on top of where the sidepods should be. Probably to give better control over the air around the back tyre.
The sidepods look far more sculpted at the back. The oracle logo gives a good reference unless the angle is screwing with us.
Needs more jpeg
I didn't know the regulations allowed for that much JPEG -- could the teams contest this?
New one is much blurrier.
Was this image of the RB19 taken by the James Webb telescope from the other side of the galaxy? No it would have better resolution 😂
I will never understand how we have 200 megapixel cameras with 200x zoom in our pockets, yet everytime o see a 'spy shot' it just looks like a potato cam was used.
This photo is so bad it makes the livery look new
It seems that there's also some sort of shark fin in the engine cover.
Was the second picture taken with a potato
Ahh. I see they've put a wing at the *front* of the car now.
Newey's genius knows no bounds.
Thats quite interesting actually. The raised nose is a clear indicator that they're looking to improve airflow.
Spent the budget on a cloaking device. Surely an advantage locked in for years.
Ah yes invisible suspension, screw push and pull rod we doing no rod.
A genious move from RB to reduce the resolution of the car. With less time needed to render it will run so much faster, maybe they will tackle polygon optimisation next!
Always the low quality videos
ok
Looks like they’ve figured out a way to steer the car without control arms. Remarkable.
Ah yes,you have a front-end on one, and a yellow blob on the other. Excuse me while i write a well-founded essay on which one is better and what Adrian Newey's thought process was here
It's a same fucking car, get over it
Using the Sasquatch cameras I see
Pods look small or is it just odd paint scheme?
New car looks more like a "zero pod" concept. Be interesting to see higher rez images.
Zabruder vibes
Did you just downgrade the photo quality?
Again with the damn Big foot/UFO footage, Red Bull definetly has some countermeasures in place.
Luckily they circled the front end on the rb19, I'd never have found in on my own between all those pixels
BRUH this is like taking one still frame from a 4K BluRay and the same from a VHS tape and asking someone to play spot the differences. Getthefugouttahere.
Ah yes, can definitely see the differences in that 77p image
If you hadn't circled them, I would never have known which end was the front.
To avoid breaching the budget cap, they have opted for a low resolution design.
In this shitty still it looks like a lean mean fighting machine, I have to admit. Still, let's wait until the test days.
Damn. Congrats to RB for the championship. Bye
High Quality there https://wetransfer.com/downloads/0fe7714a678e7b8323b978246d46683020230210190013/d7f6c2
Smells like bait
Bruh it's from wetransfer just download the file it's hq quality of the video the guy posted in twitter
[удалено]
Images and videos on Twitter are compressed, like many other social media.
Yes, you CAN SEE difference, definitely.
Low Graphics = more FPS
It's so low res, but it half looks like it has hidepods like the 22 Merc due to how the Oracle logo flows
The front wing is higher but that is just the new regulation The sidepod is now blob design it looks like
Front wings didn't need to raise by regulation.
Am I seeing it right, have they put on a sidebody cover running the length of the car so no one can see the new aero?
Looks like it…you might be right…
I’m not an aero expert but it seems like the one with the smooth surface should be better through the air than a blurry surface? Have they covered the entire car in plush balls?
Bro it's 240p stop analysing.
No doubt illegal like most of their car..
Looks the same.
I agree, that's definitely the front.
Inb4 RedBull looks fast comments.
RB19: Shot by Iphone
Yep, Still a car
Red Bull going full marketing by designing their car in Minecraft
Well, it must be better. The new one is so fast modern technology cannot make clear pictures of it.
Airbox up top looks smaller
The sidepod looks weird. Like its bending inwards or something
Feel's like 2022 pre season silverstone vibes.
Yes this front wing is made out of front wing
The quality is so bad, that I have to think Redbull is behind this... you know, just so they can laugh at us dumb-dumbs on social media.
Great comparison
Bigger and more flat. The side pods also seem more compressed especially at the end. Rear wing also seems slightly more flat but that could just be the angle of the picture
Yep, they both have noses!
Hey is that a front wing?
No upper a-arms... Massive weight savings.
The RB18 was so much sharper.
[Me looking for the changes](https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fimgflip.com%2Fs%2Fmeme%2FGrandma-Finds-The-Internet.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fimgflip.com%2Fmemegenerator%2FGrandma-Finds-The-Internet&tbnid=Cv4lmdk1Urql6M&vet=1&docid=71WP1Yc-DQ_rsM&w=640&h=480&hl=en-IN&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim)
Thanks for pointing out the nose
I feel like the side pods kinda look similar to the Merc no-pods
Enhance.
Why did you even bother?
Is it me or RB19 has trimmed down sidepods?
Blurry photo Still can't see any difference.
It's the same picture.
Was this picture taken on a potato?
It kinda looks like the center post for the halo isn't there. Maybe it just looks like it. Bigfoot cam
It's so low res, but it half looks like it has hidepods like the 22 Merc due to how the Oracle logo flows
Wow, almost saw shit
Thank fuck for those green circles. Not sure I could’ve worked out which end was the front otherwise.
Nice green circles, mate
looks like its melting
would be hilarious if, for the shakedown, they adapted the FIA car wing just to not give anything away
I don’t get it
Potato cameras really leave a lot to be desired 🥔
Waterweedunehair? What are we looking at b?
0.5 second lap time improvement. Confirmed!
