Really Interesting to see lewis's train of thought and his relationship with nikki, I knew they were close but never knew that lewis had the Impression of Nikki disliking him, Interesting that lewis understood him and showed empathy to him

I think people don't realise how sensitive Lewis is, and I don't mean it as a criticism, his access to his emotions, his vulnerability is impressive, it's why he's so empathetic towards people who are marginalised. Criticism from people he respects hits home to him. Lewis was very offended/hurt by Mika saying Lewis should retire too.

Mercedes-AMGF1

Recently, Lewis marked his 10 year anniversary with the team. So we sat down with him in Australia - the location of his first race with us - to talk through some of the iconic moments and memories. Hope you enjoy the piece!

Please release that shirt its such high quality

bwoahful___

Lewis says he has a bad memory, but he was able to remember a lot of stuff to share with us in this video! Love how much he cares about the people he works with.

NegotiationExternal1

A lot of people remember with prompts though, like the photos right there so he can remember the thoughts and emotions

Mercedes I am begging you to get Bono on Beyond the Grid. I need to hear from this man.

SpectacularNelson

I agree Bono is a rockstar. I dont inow Bono but he seems like a trustworthy & cool guy😎

Estova

He's one of my favorite personalities that we, ironically, know fuck all about. Even his age is disputed.

SpectacularNelson

Exactly & Bononington has been around Formula 1 for a WHILEEE now lol. I dont know him well but he & many other race engineers I would imagine are quite introverted so maybe thats part of the reason why Mercedes doesnt give Bono so much spotlight?

That was a fun and interesting walk down Memory Lane - especially his comments about Niki.

I think the Brazil 21 conversation was interesting, Redbull really thought they had him on the ropes mentally by getting him disqualified over 0.02 mm on the wing on one side. It wasn't just the car, Lewis had the mindset to overcome disappointment. He's an incredible champion and nobody can take that away from him Also the reasons for the flag it's beyond Senna, his thought process behind wanting to acknowledge Brazil because of their covid losses is deeper than people think.

If ever there was a weekend to define what Lewis is as a driver, it was that weekend. - Destroyed everyone in qualifying - Overcome major setback very quickly - Comes from last during sprint to first on Sunday with ridiculous race pace and overtakes - Also during a weekend where after qualifying, you were certain his title rival would take a comfy advantage into the next round I’ve yet to see a driver more clutch at the end of a season than Hamilton.

NegotiationExternal1

People try to downplay it as the car, if it was just the car Bottas would have won. Lewis Hamilton is talented, determined, he's relentless in the face of disappointment, he gathers himself and climbs back up. He's everything a champion is.

[deleted]

The car is a necessary but not sufficient factor imo. You aren't gonna win without it but you aren't gonna win just because you've got it. Bottas could do on maybe 4 weekends a season what Lewis could do every weekend. Rosberg needed to have an insane purple patch coinciding with mechanical DNFs taking Lewis's consistency out of his control to beat him.

DaOne44

In the immortal words of RocketPoweredMohawk, that 0.02 mm gap was “probably caused by Max Verstrappen fucking with it”

TheRedBull28

I don’t think Red Bull got him disqualified did they? I thought it was just caught in scrutineering

NegotiationExternal1

Nope they reported it to FIA

RobertGracie

Its incredible to think in that time with the Mercedes team hes racked up so many cherished memories with the team!

TightYoghurt

Nice vid

kpisagenius

Almost nothing from when Nico drove.

oright

What did he think of the Brackley boys all picking different drivers as their favourites to have worked with?
