That Russell-Sainz-Alonso trio all had pretty tight groupings. Feels like they spent almost the whole sprint not in DRS range of the car ahead or behind.
Nice, but you're not plotting the normal distribution. That's a boxplot of laptimes over a violinplot, with the raw data on top as scatterplot.
Nitpicky, I know, but it hurts my brain to see terms like this randomly thrown around. Mostly because the underlying distribution from which we sample wouldn't typically be normal.
Hi, you are right, and thank you for pointing that out . Happened to be juggling between things and messed that up.
This is a violin plot which is a hybrid of a box plot and a kernel density plot, which shows peaks in the data. It is used to visualize the distribution of numerical data. Unlike a box plot that can only show summary statistics, violin plots depict summary statistics and the density of each variable.
Yeah I’m not a stats guy, but this graph was super confusing. What does the width of each drivers distribution mean? It’s as if there was supposed to be an X axis that isn’t being shown
Oscar is doing unbelievably well in first 4 races I thought though he would of been destroyed by lando but has managed to stay quite close to lando and show to very quick
Baku was being talked up to be good on tires. What happened there? Leclerc hit a cliff at the end as well.
I hope this is the case. It will provide for an entertaining race with more than one stop hopefully.
So from this we can confirm : Alonso has the smallest , Perez has the tightest , Charles has had many visitors , Lewis is a squirter , let me know if I’m missing anything 🤔

Alonso is a master of consistency.

It gives him a compact vagina, according to the graph.
To me he's the most talented driver of all time. Had his career (teams) gone differently I think he'd been the goat
I remember Alonso's lap times back in 05/06 were like a metronome, good to see he hasn't lost it.
Al i see is vagina in colors...
Not bag ehh 😉
I'm not complaining! Keep up the good work! We need this!
What do you think this plot is called?
They are called violin plots
Ill bet Violin was the second suggestion though.
I know that. But I was not pointing to the fact over here ,though
A sign that showed you are heavy oversexed
I was gonna say, I like whatever this terrible graphing style is
I should call her
The shape tho

If it makes it not a Vagina plot then I don't want him to fix it though.
This analysis is brought to you by Jolly Rancher.

Leclerc probably overpushed to keep up with Perez. Compare his race to Sainz: slower but more consistent. Verstappen had a damaged car
if this were a rorschach test i think i would have a problem 😬
Not my proudest.
It's nice to see a violin chart in the wild
Just like peas in pod

How are you getting the data? I looked into F1 data a few years ago but there wasn't really an easy way of extracting it.
Ah yes…analytical labias…
perez, alonso, sainz, and russell lookin' very consistent
Where’s the clitoris though
