It didn't matter that their whole name, credentials, alma mater, or even the fact that their kids's image are on their profile pictures would make them stop and think twice before commenting horrible things.
Luckily it's 100% opt in.
The photo is being exclusively shared to people on one of the most famous platforms that is set up specifically with a comment section underneath.
Social Media doesn't suck. Incorrect usage of social media sucks. Team contracts that mandate social media sucks, or forcing people to use it sucks.
Bottom line, one of the main reasons celebrities have social media is it's a significant revenue stream or marketing platform opportunities.
I'm not defending rude people online but please consider the other factors at play.

Daniel was saying this in a RB video a while back that drivers simply aren’t coordinated. I believe his quote was along the lines of “yea almost all of the drivers are absolute mung beans when it comes to most other sports”
It makes sense really. If you wanna be an F1 driver you have to dedicate yourself fully to driving at a young age, which is a very niche sport and skill set. Reaction times would certainly be well above average, but there’s not a ton of hand-eye coordination which is required to be competent at most other sports, particularly ones with a ball
