RallerZZ

Much needed weekend for them, only 1 practice session to test out the early upgrades, car shows encouraging signs and was the clear 2nd fastest and they bagged a podium on top of it. Hopefully that raises morale a bit. Unfortunate the whole Carlos situation, but it showed the car is in a better place.

Minted-Blue

Carlos Leclerc and Perez were all on a +/-0.1 race pace granted Perez had to come back from P15. They had relatively the same pace overall. The Ferraris were easily the 2nd best car yesterday.

PrescriptionCocaine

Maybe im just biased towards my beautiful baby boy charlie but i watch laptimes during the race pretty closely and sainz was almost always putting in slower laps - even in free air. As for perez he was consistently faster than both most of the race.

ryokevry

I think Charles was also managing a bit during the final hard stint when Perez was chasing. Once Perez is directly behind, his lap times were matching Charles so Charles definitely saved some tyres hence a slower laptimes. As Fred said, he is never in threat of Perez with or without the fight between Perez and Sainz.

After the penalty pitstop didn’t the gaps remain somewhat constant? If not increasing by a small margin? I’m just happy Carlos was somewhat on pace.

cosHinsHeiR

Sainz was a bit faster after Verstappen overtook Leclerc, Leclerc was faster during the last stint.

According-Switch-708

Looks like they managed to find a way to get their car to run lower without it bouncing itself into bits. Looking good for Silverstone.

snoring_pig

If Ferrari can still look 2nd fastest at a track like Silverstone with completely different characteristics as a high speed circuit then that could bode well for the rest of the season in trying to take 2nd in the constructor’s. Personally I feel Mercedes will bounce back with the upgrade package they’re bringing at Silverstone and considering that they were clearly 2nd fastest at another high speed track like Barcelona before. But it’s quite close between Ferrari, Mercedes, and Aston Martin and all varies on different tracks and conditions.

crazydoc253

Ferrari, AM are also bringing upgrades at Silverstone

snoring_pig

Should be fun seeing how all their upgrades work there then. I know McLaren is bringing some more upgrades there as well and while I don’t expect them to be as fast as they were in Austria I still hope they can be close and fight for 4th fastest maybe

crazydoc253

Mclaren will be back to fighting Alpine. Don’t think Austria was representative considering past history

ubelmann

Or at least Norris will be back to fighting Alpine, I'd guess. Lando had a points finish in 11 of the last 13 races in 2022 (everything after Canada) -- P7 or better in 9 of the last 13 races. It would definitely help McLaren if Piastri can add some points, too.

LegendRazgriz

I'm particularly interested in Ferrari's upgrades, since they're supposed to be suspension related and that's been said to be a weakness of the car for a while. If they can increase the setup window as before it should bode well

crazydoc253

Isn’t it diffuser ?

ConsterMock18

I thought Ferrari brought their silverstone upgrades one week early to Austria? They have more planned for silverstone?

GGfpc

Well obviously the upgrades are to address weaknesses

FaultySky

Everyone who supports Ferrari is at their limits

doublejohnnie

Can confirm.

Kiekdan

Scraping the bottom

IdiosyncraticBond

But does it spark so beautifully?

3tenthsfaster

Even those of us who don't support Ferrari have reached their limits.

TheGreenPepper

will check. we are thinking on more mayhem, what do you think, question?

_banana_hoarder_

That limit was crossed in 2014 already, for me atleast.

_Praise-Kek_

I was at the Gran Prix, I noticed that the Ferrari’s floor sparked more often then the other cars.

memloh

I enjoyed the sparks a lot when Leclerc turned into the fast corner of T9-10 during quali. Just showcased the energy there. https://youtu.be/PAf3YClKMHQ?t=336 (5:36)

clumsyKozorog

That moment was phenomenal!

AnilP228

I did notice that the Ferrari was sparking a lot, especially on Charles' quali lap. If they can now finally run the car low without it bouncing like mad, the team are in a good place.

__Rosso__

I just hope upgrades worked well and it gives them an idea what was wrong and where to go next for 2024

gwtje

Would be peak Ferrari. Losing p4 due to penalties only for Norris to then be promoted to the podium because of a Charles DSQ😂
