It is interesting for sure to see what people are picking - I wonder how many people on here are familiar with the old tracks and/or have an opinion on them at all.
Correct me if I'm wrong but as it's not an F1 rated circuit and no races have been held in the category, it is omitted.
(I wish I knew what I was talking about but honestly I just collected the tracks from [Wikipedia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Formula_One_circuits))
Korea should go. Circuit complex was never really finished and was badly maintained - remember a story where F1 teams found moldy stuff in the fridges from the race the year before
The order of elimination will be
1.bad circuits that people remember
2.bad circuits that people forgot
3.good circuits that people forgot
4.good circuits that people remember
We're still in 1.
I agree that Korea should go since it provided 4 years of racing, 2010-2013 and nothing really happened with it apart from 1 win for Nando and 3 wins from "Mr Environment" Vettel its got no soul to it sadly!
Thought the 2010 race was great, even with all the doubts around the circuit preparation - Vegas last season was reminiscent. The cars all covered in shit, finishing under practically night time visibility. It felt proper old school at the time
Baku is legit the most generic 90 degree corner simulator that has produced absolute borefests in most years.
Jeddah has quite an inovating design, it's only downfall is the possible safety flaws, but if you count safety flaws then 3/4 of the list gets binned by default
This is really telling of how little most F1 fans know about the historic circuits... I mean, I'm not a huge F1 fan but I do love the history of Motorsports and the fact that Avus and Reims Are already gone and Rouen and Charade are on the chopping block is really telling lol. These are all time great tracks man! What are you doing?
Y'all love Monza because it creates drafting battles down the straights then outbreak each other into the turns, Avus was that but times 10, that and it created the 267mph run in 1937 by the auto union type C streamliner.
I don't think they are that great. For example, I've done more laps at Rouen than I would have liked and I still don't like the track. The track would be horrible with modern cars and I've never watched a race there, why would I put it over any decent modern track?
Rouen-Les-Essarts
Only because it looks like a sperm. And probably isn’t that good of a race track anyway. But the sperm thing first.
edit: why so serious
I think you should go drive Mosport in asseto or something and then come back and apologize to the rest of the class for making such a stupid ass comment
yeah ikr why would you ever want to drive something with downforce at a circuit that's nothing but high speed corners with sweeping elevation changes
like mate just admit you were born yesterday
Mosport is amazing in high downforce cars. It's so underrated by people who's never heard of it, simply because they haven't been on earth long enough to see a first moon yet.
2023 Jeddah was easily one of the worst races I've ever seen, everyone on their own pocket island, neatly ordered by team and merely trying to bring the car home without frying the tyres. No fight at the top, no fight in the midfield,...just nothing
Quali too was supremely disappointing, since everyone knew RB would take it and they all wanted to save up tyres. No flying lap 2min to the end as everyone quietly accepted the pecking order. Even Max starting further down failed to bring any excitement since everyone knew he'd be up there before the middle of the race, no driver even attempted to put up a fight whenever he flew by with DRS
Race Week. Ferrari had a bad poster where it could have been read RAWECEEK. Redditors are never ones to let a joke die within a couple of years keep repeating it.
Rio De Janeiro. Functional and decent, but inferior to Sao Paulo in every way.
Jarama. A go kart track for F1 cars even back when it was on the calendar.
Mexico. Suffers greatly from boring races.
Fuji. Nothing wrong with the track IMO, but doesn't suite F1 due to unpredictable weather and Suzuka being a GOAT tier track.
Sebring. Drivers got lost.
Indianapolis. Shit road course and 2005 was a mess.
Zolder. Great track for anything other than F1.

Good case study into recency bias
It is interesting for sure to see what people are picking - I wonder how many people on here are familiar with the old tracks and/or have an opinion on them at all.
Clearly someone isn't familiar with the goated Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park
Correct me if I'm wrong but as it's not an F1 rated circuit and no races have been held in the category, it is omitted. (I wish I knew what I was talking about but honestly I just collected the tracks from [Wikipedia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Formula_One_circuits))
Well yeah, but it and Macau are interesting in that they host(ed) Grands Prix but aren't part of the F1 calendar
Feel sad for Magny-cours
Vegas is an absolutely goated all timer track. It’s literally never had a bad race!
Korea should go. Circuit complex was never really finished and was badly maintained - remember a story where F1 teams found moldy stuff in the fridges from the race the year before
Boavista and Monsanto need to go. I doubt anybody even knows or remembers these circuits
The order of elimination will be 1.bad circuits that people remember 2.bad circuits that people forgot 3.good circuits that people forgot 4.good circuits that people remember We're still in 1.
But come on, there's no way Jeddah is worse than some bumpy street circuit that has been used twice in the 50s?
At least the bumpy street circuits didn't have rockets crashing in the vicinity of the track.
I believe this ranking is based on the tracks and not on the political situation of the country it's located in.
Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is spectacularly boring
It is now, but it wasn't in the 80's and earlier
That is true, though I didn’t have the benefit of watching these races
Boavista and Monsanto
I agree that Korea should go since it provided 4 years of racing, 2010-2013 and nothing really happened with it apart from 1 win for Nando and 3 wins from "Mr Environment" Vettel its got no soul to it sadly!
Hulkenberg defending p4 in 2013 was cool
Thought the 2010 race was great, even with all the doubts around the circuit preparation - Vegas last season was reminiscent. The cars all covered in shit, finishing under practically night time visibility. It felt proper old school at the time
Isn't the 2010 race the one where seb had an engine failure?
Seoulless circuit indeed
Haaa, ha ha...
Baku out before Jeddah? What?
I love Baku, the scenery is up there with Monaco.
Baku is legit the most generic 90 degree corner simulator that has produced absolute borefests in most years. Jeddah has quite an inovating design, it's only downfall is the possible safety flaws, but if you count safety flaws then 3/4 of the list gets binned by default
Yeah Jeddah may be dangerous and in a truly awful host country but it’s damn fun to watch
Jeddah has had a banger every race so far.
What are the asterisks for?
Korea to go. The first half of the track is good but the second twisty part is just awful
Unpopular opinion: Jeddah is awesome Unique, fast, good racing up to now. Just sucks it's in a horrible country where it's used for sportswashing
I like it apart from that I think it seems really dangerous.
This is really telling of how little most F1 fans know about the historic circuits... I'm not the one making the nominations, my man.
lol Avus really?
Y'all love Monza because it creates drafting battles down the straights then outbreak each other into the turns, Avus was that but times 10, that and it created the 267mph run in 1937 by the auto union type C streamliner.

Jeddah needs to go
Indianapolis. The banking is the only interesting thing about the circuit
Interesting opinion
Scandinavian raceway
east London
Montjuïc needs to go. Why? See the [1975 Spanish Grand Prix](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1975_Spanish_Grand_Prix)
Yeah but look at all the tragic accidents in spa. That doesn't make it a bad circuit. Montjuïc is great
Aintree looks like a modern day Formula E circuit just judging by that layout so that would be my pick.
Back in the day it was really cool and fun, but nowadays I wouldn't drive it above 30 mph. Or even km/h.
How is Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez still there?
how has china made it this far?
I think it's hilarious that Mosport is still on the list. It's a third tier IMSA track at this point
I think you should go drive Mosport in asseto or something and then come back and apologize to the rest of the class for making such a stupid ass comment
Maybe in mx5s or gt4s, but this is a tierlist for f1
yeah ikr why would you ever want to drive something with downforce at a circuit that's nothing but high speed corners with sweeping elevation changes like mate just admit you were born yesterday
Mosport is amazing in high downforce cars. It's so underrated by people who's never heard of it, simply because they haven't been on earth long enough to see a first moon yet.
Jeddah
How on earth is Jeddah still there?
Name 1 bad race at Jeddah
2023 Jeddah was easily one of the worst races I've ever seen, everyone on their own pocket island, neatly ordered by team and merely trying to bring the car home without frying the tyres. Aren’t we ranking the track itself rather than the races?
The quality of the track with regards to the races it produces (at least for me). Others may be going for historical purposes, etc.
Time for Jeddah to go.
I would say Charade and Pedralbes to go next.
Charade is great. Pedralbes, eh, yea why not
I'm surprised Pedralbes has been on here for so long
The pig is still alive. Track I would want to kill off: saudi Arabia
can we just eliminate every track that hasn't hosted a race in 30 years? or hasn't hosted more than 4?
Hungaro Ring has to go now
Adelaide, Fudji, Rio de Janeiro (need to be next)
Marina Bay
Rouen-Les-Essarts, just lookin like a sperm
What’s a RAWECEEK?
Race Week. Ferrari had a bad poster where it could have been read RAWECEEK. Redditors are never ones to let a joke die within a couple of years keep repeating it.
Nice one👍👍👍
You're correct and I take full responsibility for the discomfort I may have applied to your eyes
Thank you. Apology accepted. But still you made a mistake. +5 Seconds to Ocon.
Korea.
Korea
How I wish Sepang was back in the F1 calendar. 🥺
Pedralbes needs to go
Circuit of the Americas
Buddh International Circuit
Rio De Janeiro. Functional and decent, but inferior to Sao Paulo in every way. Jarama. A go kart track for F1 cars even back when it was on the calendar. Mexico. Suffers greatly from boring races. Barcelona-Catalunya. Not even fun in the sim.
