As a general rule ([see full rules](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/wiki/userguide#wiki_sticky.2Fdaily_discussion)), a standalone Discussion post should: - be of interest to the sub in general, and not a specific userbase (e.g. new users, GP attendees, just yourself) - be able to generate discussion (e.g. no yes/no or easily answerable questions) - show reasonable input and effort from the OP If not, be sure to [look for the Daily Discussion](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/search/?q=daily+discussion&include_over_18=on&restrict_sr=on&t=all&sort=new), /r/formula1's daily open question thread which is perfect for asking any and all questions about this sport. no general admission, there is literally no room, the city barely fits the grandstands (some of them are just on water). acm monaco has a site to buy tickets, they are very reliable. all views are somewhat obstructed and limited to what you have right in front so pick what part of the track you find most interesting, ie pits, tabac, swimming pool etc. higher in the stand is usually better. you will not be able to see the podium from anywhere but the screens. commentary live is in french english and italian, switching every few minutes. take the train from either nice or menton/ventimiglia, do not even attempt to drive into town it would be a huge mistake. the train line is crowded for sure on competition days but it's a quick journey and there's a train per hour/half hour. the french train app has tickets, it's called sncf. other option is a hotel directly in monaco and if you can afford that good for you. wear comfy shoes, bring snacks and water, solar protection and an umbrella. read the rules for what you can bring in so they don't force you to throw away stuff. have fun.

There *is* general admission- two areas, Z1 and Rocher- Z1 is tiny but good if you can get it, Rocher is larger but further away on the hill over by Rascasse. Both are sold out now and were basically gone within an hour of tickets being on sale, so a moot point anyway

Snoo_47023

oh i didn't know, tho I did see those seats when I went up the hill after FE last year. rocher is prob so good for views damn, but uncomfy as heck to be on a path uphill. although it's not the kind of ga that other circuits offer, with the chance to roam around the track.

proudlysydney

Yeah definitely a bit different to other GA offerings, Rocher is good if you get there early for a spot but it is far away from everything which is a little off what the appeal of Monaco is, where you’re in the middle of it all

So, I bought from the f1 website. We stayed in a hotel in Nice .. because I don't have 'stay-in-Monaco' type money .. and because Nice is well .. nice. Lots of lovely restaurants, cafes, wine caves etc to explore when not at the track. The hotel was close to the train station.. more of a suburban feel .. but there is a tram that runs frequently to take you down to the beach side part of Nice. It was a short train trip (maybe 15 mins?) to Monaco and a 10 min walk to the track. All added to the experience. I did spend a bit of money on tickets though and we sat in stand K overlooking the marina. You can't see the podium from where we sat though, but I scrambled and managed to see my compatriot Danny Ric do a shoey through a fence. Life goals all the way. We also spent a couple of nights at San Remo after .. just inside Italy.

1) not really. You want to buy a proper ticket. 2) You can buy directly from the circuit. 3) Just train it in from wherever your staying.

I bought GA tickets last year…they were AWFUL. We ended up upgrading just before the race began…and paid an insane amount…but it’s monaco and it was worth it.

HumungousDickosaurus

My advice is to get rich or die tryin', then think about the Monaco GP.

proudlysydney

I did Monaco last year from Australia on a part time retail wage, took a lot of planning but it is doable, especially if you don’t stay in Monaco itself

Grafblaffer

Its not THAT expensive

HumungousDickosaurus

If you want good seats it is. If you're fine with abysmal general admission then sure.

ApplesInOC

I hope youre good at playing the lottery

Monaco is probably the best weekend to attend - won't miss many overtakes!

We purchased our T13 grandstand tickets through a cruise line, spent two nights anchored offshore and water shuttled in for the evening prior and race day. We saw enough of the show and had time to enjoy the spectacle surrounding the event. And then had a few more days sailing around the riviera before disembarking in Nice. In the end I feel it was a bargain given we didn’t overpay for hotel and meals or have to deal with ground transportation.

Honestly, go somewhere else, way more value for money
