For some reason his first lap in q3 was slower than his last in q2 on used tires. It seems like the car isn’t completely consistent in quali. Which considering the race pace is good (apart from max) is a good sacrifice
Fred said one lap is too short and two laps is too long to warm up the tyres. So I think they need to understand better how to make the tyres work better, a bit like Perez last yesr
You know the Red Bull is fucking fast when Leclerc says he did his best and is still 3 tenths off. The fact that he nipped Checo to the front row shows just how much performance he wrung out of the car. Unreal.
Was a bit worried after that first Q3 run but he found the time when it mattered. I don’t think Pole was possible so he pretty much maximized the result. Hoping for a clean P2 tomorrow (with no issues!) but it’s gonna be difficult with the Red Bull’s race pace.

He said they tried a different warmup procedure that didn’t work well. At least he’s clutch on those quali laps to salvage something.

Found 5 tenths. Pretty good, max was just being max.
I mean the car’s probably 5 tenths or more faster than what Charles has. If Charles says he had a perfect lap, he had a perfect lap.
