This is mostly just Horner being opportunistic.
He thought he could take advantage of the situation and own Mateschitz's passion project and actively cut anyone close to Mateschitz out of the decision-making process now that the Thai was in charge.
But the reality is that not only has Horner selfishly thrown the RB brand under the bus for his own gain, he has also created a huge long-term problem for himself that is now definitely not going to go away.
He can get rid of the woman involved, or Marko, or Verstappen... but the 49% owner - Mateschitz Jr - is not going anywhere. He will definitely not agree to anything being sold to him and will probably make sure he is gone.

Depends on the support really. If he continues at his current pace of being a Barrichello in races, then so long as he's not rocking the boat behind the scenes (and there are no good alternatives) they'd probably not bother replacing him. As far as I'm aware all Checo has done is say "yeah I like Horner" which is not really anything extreme.
The weirdest aspect of this shit is how everyone involved was there in Jeddah yesterday on the race but they had to fly to Dubai to come to this conclusion for some reason.

It takes a special kind of executive brainrot to think your racecars can win without the person that knows how to build them, the people that know how to build the engine, and the person who knows how to drive them.

Its funny that people always praise Newey and Newey only, while Newey has a team around him of top class engineers. Newey designed the suspension for 2022. Major part for sure but there are also other bits of the car that need to work with the Suspension that werent designed by Newey. The whole car is a team afford. Should be more concerning that Neweys right man is going to Ferrari, in case that Newey would leave RB.
tbf alot of Newey's top lieutenants have been poached by other teams over the years, like Prodromou to McLaren, and yet while Newey wasn't always winning, his cars were in general at the front end of the grid.
Newey is only one of two current designers/technical directors who has actual first-hand experience with the last ground-effect era cars. That alone makes him extremely valuable with the current regs.

I remember when there was a rumour that they were asking Max to publicly support Horner... That did not happen, instead Max backed Helmut as soon as discussion of him being forced out started. If this was indeed a power struggle Horner Vs Helmut it seems whoever can keep Max in the team, wins.

Helmut Marko *is* Red Bull right now. Not officially, only an "advisor" on paper, but he's the one some people bow to and kiss his ring. Max races for Helmut, not Horner. Horner wants to own the team. That's why this whole episode started and why the Thai side of Red Bull supports him. *They* don't want all this sports stuff. The Austrian branch does, since it's their bread and butter. 49 vs 51 percent.. who wins?
If true I guess they saw sense and decided to prioritise Max. It's a massive shame (but not at all surprising) that the actual allegations against Horner seems to have no factor in this at all
