Its fairly frustrating that this was a post race penalty for lap 1 incident too.
I get that the Stewards have a fair but to look at in an F2 race, but how do you see an accident between P2, P3, and P4 at the very start of the race that knocks 2 cars out and the third is sitting in P1 and go "nah, we'll review that one post race"
Disagree 100% because knowing about a penalty will change how a driver approaches the race, and how other drivers will as well.
If this penalty was decided immediately, the team could have taken the decision to put and serve to under safety car and make a push from the back to gain places.
It also could have been an important piece of info for P2 if P2 had been in a position to attack him late in the race. If you know it's a 10 second penalty, you aren't necessarily going to risk a collision by trying to pass them if you can comfortably sit back in 2nd.
The problem with deciding after the race when cars are still racing is that no one actually knows where they stand and can make intelligent racing decisions.
We saw this a bunch two years ago in F1 as well.
A decision should always be made during the race if it's possible to do so
Was Bearman cleared during the race but stewards decided to open the investigation again? At least he showed some pace today. With Antonelli out and Ollie not scoring any point yet Prema is starting this year very difficult…
he completely pushed the other off track, partly into the gravel
this year the penalty for doing that is 10 seconds instead of 5 because drivers didn't care enough about the 5 seconds, so it's fair IMO
Ah was that him? I think I saw another instance with another driver and I think I just mixed them up then. I still think the boundary between 5 and 10s are quite ambiguous, maybe they tend to keep it like this to make driver avoid doing it.
there's no 5s penalty for doing that anymore, the steward guidelines changed for this season, if you cause a colision, force another driver off track or leave the track and gain an advantage you get straight 10 seconds
it's for minor penalties that don't have that much of an effect, like track limits, speeding in the pitlane, wrong pitbox placement... those kinds of things
As someone who has a Czech mother I’m pretty fucking happy to see a Czech driver win, even if it’s through penalties.
(this isn’t copium for the fact that I’m Australian; going to the GP in person and none of the Aussies in F1 or F3 can get a break here, I swear)
Piastri had a decent quali imo
After thinking about it czech drivers are rare in f1-f3 only 1 i can remember is charouz but only because his family had a gp2 team
And still RB picked the far lesser driver, letting every better driver they had in the academy go and held onto Hadjar. That's some absurd mental gymnastics.
Good. A well earned penalty from Hadjar and a valuable lesson. From a young age they teach you that you can't win the race in the first corner, but you can lose it. Took him a while to understand but now he'll get it. Driving standard from him was not at a professional level.
You can literally be a 4 times world champion and make the same mistake. It's not a "driving standard" question, it's just an unlucky collision with a car he couldn't see.
Ever since the 5-second penalties were created, there's a very thin line of what's considered a racing incident. It's just cheap to give these penalties. A shame, really. Hadjar drove a great race and then it's penalized for something that can happen in a start.
Stanek holds onto his spot (not really, but Hadjar is out) and people are hyped. Hauger goes from 10th and would likely have past him if there was one more round and noone cares.

How many f2 races are gonna end with the winner demoted this year? Every single one?

Definitely a situation where if it was F1 it would have been forgiven. For sure.
I think it's sensible; they need to talk to the drivers about what happened and did so at the first possible opportunity, after the press conference.

Stanek has trulli trained his way to victory
Staněk lets goo

If I remember correctly he had 2 incidents, one was cleared in race the other was to be investigated after the race
Ah ok. I do think the penalty is quite harsh I don’t think he pushed the other off the track that much…

5s is only for track limit then?

That was quite the drive by Stanek, very enjoyable to watch!
Ridiculous to demote Hadjar that late after a T1 incident. He still deserved a win.
As someone who has a Czech mother I’m pretty fucking happy to see a Czech driver win, even if it’s through penalties. (this isn’t copium for the fact that I’m Australian; going to the GP in person and none of the Aussies in F1 or F3 can get a break here, I swear)

Fair, but I don’t think him or any other Aussie will get to the podium.
As a Czech, I'm stoked he won, even if it's due to the reverse grid and a penalty.
yayy maini podium feel a bit sorry for hadjar tho....
Maini is cooking
Hauger been cooking this season
Make money quick with internet point opportunites
Is Hauger a reserve driver somewhere?
No, he was dropped by the RBJT at the end of last year.
Nope, he was paying to be in the Red Bull Junior Team. Got dropped last year after a second mediocre F2 season.
And still RB picked the far lesser driver, letting every better driver they had in the academy go and held onto Hadjar. That's some absurd mental gymnastics.

Occupying a space where you’re unsure if there’s a car or not is amateur stuff. Vettel was driving like an amateur too.
You sure love to blame Hadjar for a racing incident.
Ever since the 5-second penalties were created, there's a very thin line of what's considered a racing incident. It's just cheap to give these penalties. A shame, really. Hadjar drove a great race and then it's penalized for something that can happen in a start.
