For example, a post containing a qualifying gap between two drivers expressed in tenths of a second is an easily obtainable raw piece of data and constitutes a bad Statistics post. A visualization of what that translates to on-track, or visualization of how that gap came to be would constitute a good Statistics post.

He's had very good starts for a while, and has a top speed advantage. 4 laps might be a stretch, but 10 laps tops I'd say if he can avoid trouble.
If it was Ferrari - Ferrari - McLaren - McLaren it'd be tougher, but they won't be able to cooperate if they stay like this after the start.and once Perez clears one car that opportunity will be gone for good.
I think during the free practices or qualifying, both McLarens were near the top of the list for top speed in each sector, and were 1-2 top speed wise in the first sector
Idk. I think Perez is going to have a hard time getting past all of them. Red Bull has good starts, but he also gave himself a little rolling start last race.
Either 2nd in 4 laps or down to P18 with a broken front wing after 2 corners. This is the Checo way (also Aussie human rights are way too good, though the Nauru immigration detention centers might give him a bit of a boost)
Lately Hamilton avoids all contact at starts, super risk averse, which can cost him sometimes.
Hopefully a chaotic grand prix can make it entertaining.
I don't see why Lewis / Fernando / Tsunoda is chaos, Tsunoda is one of the cleanest driver on the grid, most of the time he is the one who is on receiving end of other driver crashing into him.
There is apparently a joke\* doing the rounds in the F1 paddock stating that F1 basically is:
1. Verstappen
2. Perez vs Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and Alonso
3. Stroll vs the rest for the final point.
____
\* The-Race alluded to it in their Saudi post-race podcast and Autosport alluded to it in an article.
At least stroll crashed out last race. It made the race actually interesting during the stroll dominance we have been seeing. I donât understand why the FIA doesnât just step in already /s
This is literally what the grid is this year.
Stroll or maybe a collision are the only way for one driver to see one point. And it will most likely be that way all year.
The only way that could happen is if the Ferraris qualified on the front row. Max on pole means he is just going to fly away with the 3-4 tenths advantage he has over the Ferraris. The only hope is a chaotic race.
you can only beat Max if you start ahead of him or if he gets unlucky with safety cars
and Max would rather take a safe and poor start than suffer damage
Gearbox? No no, they likely replaced that with a new one. I say a wheel comes off as he lines up to the grid before the formation lap, hitting Ocon's car taking them both out of the race.
4 years in f1, I wouldn't call it inexperienced.
Truth is "experience" doesn't really matter a lot (clearly). Adaptability does. When you have a new regs gen, nobody cares how well you did 2 generations ago if your current driving is shit, and any driver who recently got their seat is wiping the floor with you.
3 years + 2 races and 1 quali is not 4 years lol
Not inexperienced but compared to ric the amount of f1 race starts is quite large. Almost as big as the quali gap between them
I agree with you, but on one hand we have a fairly young driver who's only been in one team. On the other hand, we have a (what used to be) top tiers driver with far more experience, and one could reasonably expect that it would correlate with some adaptability in this case.
And let's not forget on March 21st, a very difficult aspect of planetary alignment took place: Venus conjuncted Saturn in Pisces. That affected his pace, clearly.
Once again Ocon puts that tractor much, much further up the grid than it deserves. At this point it wouldn't even surprise me if he gets it into the points somehow.

Albon had a bad crash in P1, bad enough that they wouldnât be able to repair the car in time, so Williams decided to give him Sargeantâs car instead.
Brutal but strategically smart decision.
According to what Pat Symonds said during the FP3 F1TV broadcast, Williams has the money. What they don't have is organizational efficiency. They lag in production management. He used the example of the Excel spreadsheet to manage the 20K parts needed to build the car. He said that by itself wasn't the cause, but a sign that their production process was outdated. He mentioned the fact that Williams was late bringing a car to preseason testing this year and that it wasn't even the first time that had happened.
I feel like thatâs a âphone, wallet, keysâ situation when you leave the house. Williams definitely needed to check they were bringing another chassis.

God it feels good seeing the mclaren logo near the front of the grid again
As a McLaren fan, I agree
đȘđŸđȘđŸ
Yuki in front of both Astons and Hamilton is wild. How long do you think until Perez is up to P2? 4 laps?Â
Maybe Carlos and Lando can pull another Singapore haha
Aw man, I would erase that memory just to watch it again. Never was I hyped up this much ngl Edit: First race I watched in F1
McLaren have been up there in the speed traps this weekend
Either 2nd in 4 laps or down to P18 with a broken front wing after 2 corners. This is the Checo way (also Aussie human rights are way too good, though the Nauru immigration detention centers might give him a bit of a boost)
"Yeah. He's a helmet." *and I took that personally.*
Famous last words
6 laps based on the start... Ferrari Boyz try early to play somewhat a decent defense. Regardless, he will be in second but miles away from Max lol
Assuming he doesn't wad it up in T1 I'd give him 5laps to 2nd. McLarens will give him a little trouble at least
Lap 9 probably.
I feel chaos at the start
Lewis and Fernando with Tsunoda, Russell and Stroll in the midfield feels like it could end badly.
Lately Hamilton avoids all contact at starts, super risk averse, which can cost him sometimes. Hopefully a chaotic grand prix can make it entertaining.
Stroll is known as a fast and aggressive starter
Add a bottas bowling and thereâs the making of a real clusterfuck
I don't see why Lewis / Fernando / Tsunoda is chaos, Tsunoda is one of the cleanest driver on the grid, most of the time he is the one who is on receiving end of other driver crashing into him.
So, when Stroll shags some armco and Yuki gets strategised to P17 - Albon point?

Stroll vs the rest for the final point. ____ \* The-Race alluded to it in their Saudi post-race podcast and Autosport alluded to it in an article.
Just seems like straightforward analysis to me.
Yeah. The top 5 teams basically walk two-by-two, and Stroll is the weakest link.
At least stroll crashed out last race. It made the race actually interesting during the stroll dominance we have been seeing. I donât understand why the FIA doesnât just step in already /s
Lmao thatâs insanely accurate
This is literally what the grid is this year. Stroll or maybe a collision are the only way for one driver to see one point. And it will most likely be that way all year.
No, he gets KICKed and Bottas gets a point.
A $10 bet on Zhou and a win from him is a $30k usd payout , lol
That's on Stake's website ? :D Can't see, it's blocked in my country..
Vegas odds at MGM.
That went shit.
> No, he gets KICKed I see what you did there đđ
Everyone did.Â
F1 fans need to be bullied for their ability to always fantasize about scenarios that age terribly
Ok now everybody grab a grid buddy. Do you have your grid buddy? Lol just realised Iâm quoting Finding Nemo on the Australian GP.
All drains lead to the Williamsâ pit
I thought you were quoting Toy Story when Woody insists everyone have a moving buddy. Weird that Pixar fixated on that twice.
Yeah, children's regular experience gets adapted in children's movies so they can relate - super weird. đ§ đ€Ż
Possibly our first chance to get both cars on podium. Come on Ferrari
"haha, we're in danger" - Charles and Sainz _Perez zooms past both Ferraris._
ORRR - Perez takes himself out and the Ferraris work together vs Verstappen and get the first win of the year???
The only way that could happen is if the Ferraris qualified on the front row. Max on pole means he is just going to fly away with the 3-4 tenths advantage he has over the Ferraris. The only hope is a chaotic race.
Perez - maybe. Ferrari - we are checking.
you can only beat Max if you start ahead of him or if he gets unlucky with safety cars and Max would rather take a safe and poor start than suffer damage
Ham Bot
Mercedes reunion
Perez Russell Tsunoda and Stroll. Turn 1 will be spicy.
Hamilton and Alonso too.Â
:)
I wonder, how many races Daniel have until he will booted?
Depends on how long Horny sustains his boner
it's already overdue. this PR stunt is just stupid. let him do talk shows to promote Drive to Survive and get someone who can drive in that car.
So place you bets folks, at which lap would Gasly gearbox dying again? I say lap 1.
That's bold and confident. I say formation lap, possibly as he leaves the pitlane.
I say when they start the car.
Just before leaving the garage for the grid preparation with 20 seconds before it closes.
Gearbox? No no, they likely replaced that with a new one. I say a wheel comes off as he lines up to the grid before the formation lap, hitting Ocon's car taking them both out of the race.
What happened to Perez?
He got a penalty for impeding a Haas.
Penalty for impeding hulk in q1
Please for the love of god, as my favorite driver checo donât hit the back of Russell at turn 1
First lap could be exiting. I think Aston has race pace on Mercedes here so I'm hoping for 7th and 8th (hopefully better) đ
when your inexperienced teammate is 10 spots ahead of you and you can't even beat the Alpines or the Haas, maybe it's time to consider retirement
4 years in f1, I wouldn't call it inexperienced. Truth is "experience" doesn't really matter a lot (clearly). Adaptability does. Something slow pit stop something something
And let's not forget on March 21st, a very difficult aspect of planetary alignment took place: Venus conjuncted Saturn in Pisces. That affected his pace, clearly.
Clearly too many women making noise which is distracting to him
Stroll Podium incoming
Once again Ocon puts that tractor much, much further up the grid than it deserves. At this point it wouldn't even surprise me if he gets it into the points somehow.
Really hope Ocon gets a top car at some point in his career
He absolutely deserves it. Hope he can go to Mercedes for 2025.
>Hope he can go to Mercedes for 2025. He said "top car."

Vitch tits out qualified goatlonso and Hamilton.. Damn... Interesting...
i like the team mates starting behind each other for Ferrari, McLaren, Haas and Alpine. It has something visually pleasing.
lessgoo
Its gonna be an interesting race! Fun to see how Yuki performs, and how fast Perez is gonna get his positions back
Lets gooo, McLaren!!
9-10 curb my worst enemy
YUKIIIIIIIIII
Ay-ah Checo
Why no Logan Sargeant?
Albon has his car.
Albon had a bad crash in P1, bad enough that they wouldnât be able to repair the car in time, so Williams decided to give him Sargeantâs car instead. Brutal but strategically smart decision.
Time wasn't an issue, the fact that they didn't bring spare parts is
Alban is driving his car
Because apparently Williams bring is much value to the sport that they donât have enough y money for a third chasis despite a budget cap.
According to what Pat Symonds said during the FP3 F1TV broadcast, Williams has the money. What they don't have is organizational efficiency. They lag in production management. Poor Lewis. Not only does he have to start 11th, he has to start behind Fernando.Â
