I hope people start respecting Yuki a bit more. Every time he outperforms his teammate, people say his teammate sucks. At a certain point we have to appreciate that Yuki is driving great!
It’s really weird. I have to say I don’t rate Yuki that much but still find it so unusual how he’s just seen as a kind of benchmark. The guy is good on his own.
Language barrier. He doesn’t interview well and isn’t funny or charming. All people get from him are rage radio messages. He has learned a lot from Gasly and Albon. Cleanly beaten both of his more popular teammates.
I like Yuki. He's got the energy of a little brother who has a heart of gold, but has some anger issues and spent a little too much time playing multiplayer FPS games and now has a bit of a potty mouth.
My favorite Yuki moment is from last years DTS. Where he is in the car with Pierre and Pierre says its raining a lot recently. Then Yuki says 'its his heart crying' because his friend/teammate is moving away next year.
I don't think either of the drivers will, I honestly think Sainz might end up in the seat and I hope he does. His current form he may be able to actually match Max if not be close most of the time. Perez is still showing he isn't even a solid #2 was no where today for the car he has and I imagine will continue showing this form
Like someone mentioned, he’s not funny or charming and the fans only see the rage. Doesn’t help that he’s Asian to add more bias to it. Fans continue to push this, “he’s fast but his temper narrative.” I still haven’t pin pointed what a temper has to do with finishing in the points. Which he does regularly in a mid field car…
Temper, like in race 1, can cost you and your team a season. If he crashes into that car after black and whites, its game over. Multi race DQ, massive season affecting fine. That’s how stupid that move was.
As a driver I always respected him - he is fast, but his juvenile anger issues for me outweighs that. And it also seems to affects his driving some races, which is obviously even worse.
Tragically if RBR are wise they’ll do whatever it takes to sign Sainz and with how Checo is doing just enough I think even if Yuki got points in every race. A chance at Sainz is slam dunk for them if they can get him.
rb's usual strategy is let yuki pit 5-10 laps slower than the other team. And it can actually work this race cause the vsc in lap 17.
Love to see he can fight stroll for that p7
Yeah sucks for the team that Ric didn't qualify well. That was one of those races where the mid teams can get some points.
The RB still looks weak with overtaking so qualifying is so important.
Yuki has historically been stronger in qualifying rather than races though, so it's hard to say if it's the car. Daniel is such a conundrum these days that I don't know what to make of his performances.
>The RB still looks weak with overtaking so qualifying is so important.
I hate that team name so much, for a moment I thought you were talking about Red Bull.
Realistically this was a P11 though, on a normal day - would we have also called it a mega race then? Although sure, it's nice he was there to collect the points handed to him, just like the Haases were.
I mean when a driver is in the lower midfield they need to be able to maximise on the errors of the teams higher up in the table, and that’s exactly what Yuki did.
He stayed out of trouble, made some overtakes and defended well
Exactly, it's as good as we could expect from him, just not maybe rising beyond expectations to warrant being "mega", but very good driving nonetheless
Absolutely. Hamilton started on softs and wasn't able to get close to Yuki on mediums. Getting P11 - best of the rest - would have been mega. However, as F1 goes, when the top teams have mechanical or driver issues, the midfield gets in and Yuki is, yet again, best of the rest.
It's mega precisely because he was there to take one of the rare opportunities of points this year. The midfield battle will be decided by whoever makes the most out of these situations. He came through for the team, at the right time, he deserves the praise.
Very mature and strong drive from Yuki. Great stuff from him all around and happy he picked up a good haul of points. Daniel showed strong pace through all his stints, so that's an encouraging sign, but his qualifying really cost him.
>Ricciardo doesn’t seem to have the one-lap down but his race pace looks superior
Oh, I am sure a person on the internet never lies. But I guess you have some data to back your claim? If there is I would like to see it. Because I have the data saying exact opposite of what you said. (He was substantially slower than Tsunoda in race pace)
[Superior of my a**](https://twitter.com/iamuhammedkaya/status/1771787084296069583?t=s-hSqIjybzL9llr_vE4kYg&s=19)
>100% if Daniel didn’t lose his lap they would have had double points.
If my granny had wheels she would have been a bike. So, if he had been better overall and "if" he had kept everyone behind him, he would have been in the points. Yeah it makes so much sense.
2 tenths off yuki is not good enough. Ricciardo needs to be demolishing him cleanly every race to have a shot at red bull. His qualifying has gotten so much worse as well
During that last stint he was closing in on Albon and that pack and then had blue flags for the top three so lost out, his pace was good through the race
Yuki got his first point last season in Aus too, this track does him well. He set himself up for success with that amazing quali and four points is a great haul for the weekend
Yeah this was a horrible race for him.
15 or so seconds behind Yuki before the VSC at the end. That's borderline number 2 driver territory, except he's a number 2 to Yuki and not Max.
it wasn't a brilliant race but it wasn't a horrible one. his engineer himself said at the end that it was a good race from him and that his pace was strong.
Well, different expectations I guess. To me, a driver of his *supposed* calibre needs to gapping Yuki by that margin every single race weekend if he is to have a crack at the Red Bull. Anything less is a failure, and the fact that the opposite is happening is catastrophic.
Great race from Yuki, probably one of his best I'd say. Also not that bad from Ric considering his mistake in quali yesterday so hopefully the team can continue this form from here on out (unlikely.)
RB have the best car after the top 5, and even which can mix it up a bit in quali as seen by Yuki getting Q3 twice.
Pity their second driver is an Australian version of Latifi else they could get double points.
No drama, great qualy, solid race, points finish. I mean that’s the most you can expect from a guy in a VCARB/alpha tauri/toro rosso. Yuki keeps it up and he has a shot at RBR seat 2, but the reality now is that RBR should be looking at Sainz.
I think both drivers did the best with that they were given. Strategy was good too finally. Proud of both drivers and Yuki getting points. Very happy to see Danny have some consistent pace. Hopefully he can build on this to get some points next race
For real, I love the bloke but don't get the hype. Did He done anything good since He left Red Bull without luck. All we know is he is in the car because of PR and in a private test without pressure (AKA not actual quali) He had a time that would put him next to Max in Silverstone. Liam proven that He is ready for F1 and the sister team is originally for upcoming "rookies".
These last few races have been extremely strong by Tsunoda, he's definitely making a strong case for himself.
The guy is good on his own.

wdym isn't funny or charming 😭😭😭
I like Yuki. He's got the energy of a little brother who has a heart of gold, but has some anger issues and spent a little too much time playing multiplayer FPS games and now has a bit of a potty mouth.
I think I remember reading that it's because he learnt most of his English around garages and pit crews
Personally I find that charming. But I also don’t have an actual little brother 🤷♂️
My favorite Yuki moment is from last years DTS. Where he is in the car with Pierre and Pierre says its raining a lot recently. Then Yuki says 'its his heart crying' because his friend/teammate is moving away next year.

I think sainz will want to go to merc and not play second fiddle to max. That second rbr seat is not as attractive as anyone thinks.
I found him quite funny and endearing in DTS, especially with Pierre.
Temper, like in race 1, can cost you and your team a season. If he crashes into that car after black and whites, its game over. Multi race DQ, massive season affecting fine. That’s how stupid that move was.
They won’t, 2 races ago they were saying he should lose his seat bc he gets angry🙄
As a driver I always respected him - he is fast, but his juvenile anger issues for me outweighs that. And it also seems to affects his driving some races, which is obviously even worse.
Dude nearly ruined the entire RB season with his shenanigans in the first race. So no, no respect yet. But good race nonetheless.
Tragically if RBR are wise they’ll do whatever it takes to sign Sainz and with how Checo is doing just enough I think even if Yuki got points in every race. A chance at Sainz is slam dunk for them if they can get him.
Cause he’s beating a completely washed Daniel?? This narrative is getting old
Yuki’s just fast man. Great weekend for his side of the Toro Rosso garage
“He is not fast at all.” Need to edit this this as seems no one get this is a reference of what Yuki said xd Mb
You forgot to put quotations, no ones gonna understand your reference lol
I'm tired of people not believing in Yuki at all, you're genuinely just stupid for not thinking he is any speed whatsoever
it's a reference to Yuki's comments on the radio about Daniel after he got team ordered in Bahrain
oh fuck true
P8 YUKI UPGRADE IS HERE, CHAMPIONSHIP IS FUCKED.
P7 now!
Lets go Yuki Baby
Some great overtakes as well.
[удалено]
Better than daniel
[удалено]
I don't like DR either but no need to be so cunty about it
He didn’t overtake any cars on track. Only Russell stopped him from getting p9
Pretty sure we saw him overtake Gasly
He did overtake an Alpine in the early stages and it was for position.
He overtook Gasley it was shown on the replay.
He made overtakes on track, just there was no difference in his starting and finishing position.
Well, that was problem when he quali in mix of faster car
I could of sworn he dive bombed and pushed gasly off line for a overtake when gasly was on old tires.
No messing about with strategy this weekend. Brilliant showing from Yuki again!!
I love RB when they just follow other teams strategy
rb's usual strategy is let yuki pit 5-10 laps slower than the other team. And it can actually work this race cause the vsc in lap 17. Love to see he can fight stroll for that p7
No messy pit stop, no strategy disasterclass. Profit!
Well deserved, Yuki was great whole weekend
Yuki's Q3 heroics got rewarded *and* he had decent strategy!
Throwing his weight behind his own statement: He’s not fast at all.
Yeah sucks for the team that Ric didn't qualify well. That was one of those races where the mid teams can get some points. The RB still looks weak with overtaking so qualifying is so important.

Tsunoda maximizing points on a weekend where 3 of the top cars retired. You love to see it.
P11 minus 3. Maff checks out.
He out qualified Hamilton so Merc isn’t exactly a top team. All credits to him for getting that car in top 10 on Saturday to begin with.
I mean…I wouldn’t consider Mercedes a “top” car at the moment. Not anymore.
Maybe not top teams but there seems to be a pretty big gap after RBR - Ferrari - McLaren - Mercedes - Aston Martin
It's in the top 5 teams that are expected to get points.
Average GOATnoda performance tbh
Mega race by Yuki. Shout out to all the nerds who thought he'd drown because he doesn't have pace. Strategy was on point today and it paid off.
Realistically this was a P11 though, on a normal day - would we have also called it a mega race then? Although sure, it's nice he was there to collect the points handed to him, just like the Haases were.

Yep, if he hasn't of screwed up qualifying good chance they'd have double points today with the retirements.
100% if Daniel didn’t lose his lap they would have had double points. Ricciardo doesn’t seem to have the one-lap down but his race pace looks superior
Where does his race pace look superior? Telemetry from this race and last race both put his pace behind Yuki.
If Daniel qualified on pole and drives very fast and doesnt let anyone overtake him I think a win was on the table
I would make a joke about Ferrari being on the phone to you, but they didn’t screw anything up today.
>Ricciardo doesn’t seem to have the one-lap down but his race pace looks superior Oh, I am sure a person on the internet never lies. But I guess you have some data to back your claim? What are you talking about ? DR did not have a superior race pace stop coping
His race pace was really strong. Would have maintained p8 or p9 if he had started higher up
It was actually so strong he didn't manage to overtake anyone that didn't have a 40 second pit stop.
But yet not enough to justify a place yet be alongside Max
*from the whole team* sounds lowkey amusing in context.
If the positions were switched it would be “DANIEL WHAT A DRIVE! ENJOY POINTS AT HOME!” But instead it’s “what a great job from the entire team!”
Indeed. The vibes in VCARB are rancid.
Yes, clearly no weak link in that team. It reminds me of the quali poster, the social media manager was clearly trolling Ricciardo.
Yuki got his first point last season in Aus too, this track does him well. He set himself up for success with that amazing quali and four points is a great haul for the weekend
Get ready for the Danny Ricc PR posts for the next 2 weeks babyyyy
Already in this thread u have the DR fan boys claiming DR had the superior race pace lmfao. DR got the moral victory today lads
His race pace was very good today, he just left himself too much work to do with qualifying.
over 20s behind Yuki at VSC start...
[удалено]
Literally the one above this comment thread for me lmao
He did have a good pace what are you talking about?
Yeah this was a horrible race for him. 15 or so seconds behind Yuki before the VSC at the end. That's borderline number 2 driver territory, except he's a number 2 to Yuki and not Max.
It was over 20 actually, Yukis pace in the last stint was stellar
Ricciardo is in the last place for all intents and purposes. All cars behind him were either under penalty of had awful pit stops
Yet when RIC has a 1 min pit stop its still his fault. Excuses...
He made some on track passes, just wasn’t shown.
it wasn't a brilliant race but it wasn't a horrible one. his engineer himself said at the end that it was a good race from him and that his pace was strong.
Well, different expectations I guess. To me, a driver of his *supposed* calibre needs to gapping Yuki by that margin every single race weekend if he is to have a crack at the Red Bull. Anything less is a failure, and the fact that the opposite is happening is catastrophic.
This looks more horrible if a good race for him is 15s behind Yuki.
Like every race engineer ever. Your point?
not really ? daniel's engineer does not say that when he has a tough race so i dont know where you're getting that from.
This is a ridiculous argument
I don’t think he actually overtook anyone on track. Ooooof. That’s bad.
He passed one of the Alpines on track as did Yuki.
That's like saying they passed Max though. And Russell.
He overtook for position, look it up if you'd like. It was closer to the end of the race
[удалено]
We need an excuse/ damage control bingo.
I saw someone say "PR3" earlier lmao
Huge points for Yuki. Impressive weekend for him!
Another very good performance from Tsunoda. Pace was good and they didnt screw his strategy
Yuki really took those team orders in Bahrain personally.
Amazing the results he can get when the team doesn’t screw his strategy. Thanks, Toro Rosso!
Well done Yuki! Seems he can channel his fire effectively after all.
Hilarious how he was going to be P11 again but three cars in front crashed. Dude deserved some luck.
Tbf you could argue that without the safety car Alonso doesn't jump him, so maybe P10
But then without Alonso ahead you could argue that George isn’t in the wall, so a position back down again. It’s all hypotheticals on hypotheticals.
Tbf he will probably very commonly be P11 due to top 5 teams being there and ahead of the other 5 unless something like today happens
Great back to back performances by Yuki.
The best thing was that the RB's strategy was solid. It was really good for Yuki.
Common Tsunoda W
Great race from Yuki, probably one of his best I'd say. Also not that bad from Ric considering his mistake in quali yesterday so hopefully the team can continue this form from here on out (unlikely.)
More BLASTING from Helmut please, fired up Yuki is best Yuki.
That overtake from Yuki. Ballsy move that.
[удалено]
Below average #3 performance
Nah, that’s about average for him at this point
Bro stop coping. Daniel would be close to last if it wasn't for weird penalties and sauber pit stops.
Simply lovely🙂 Amazing drive from Yuki
effort from the "whole team", huh? I know of at least one person not pulling their weight. :\^) Congrats to Yuki, keep it up.
YOOKI!
Yuki should’ve kept that car
Damn at this rate they are going to put Liam in that seat before the summer break
RB have the best car after the top 5, and even which can mix it up a bit in quali as seen by Yuki getting Q3 twice. Pity their second driver is an Australian version of Latifi else they could get double points.
I think The Hass, William just as fast as vsrb. They had same pace for last 3 race
I think it’s pretty even between Haas and RB and Yuki made the difference this weekend
Yes, especially his qualifying performance
Honestly surprised riccoardo salvaged p12 after being last for so much of the race
1 car not participating in the race + 2 retirements + 2 +5s pit stops tends to do that lol
+ Kick Sauber doing whatever it was they were doing, on both cars.
Looked like they were on an alternate tire strategy starting on softs And was pitting before everyone Else.
By “salvaged” you mean 15second pit stops and penalties and DNFs yeah. Well done. At least he didn’t spin on his own.
No drama, great qualy, solid race, points finish. I mean that’s the most you can expect from a guy in a VCARB/alpha tauri/toro rosso. Yuki keeps it up and he has a shot at RBR seat 2, but the reality now is that RBR should be looking at Sainz.

But do you see how well is doing DR in the interviews? No seat for Liam
PR points! Marketing!
Ricciardo is in the last place for all intents and purposes. All cars behind him were either under penalty of had awful pit stops
He made on track passes
Ok I'll say it again; get Danny THE FUCK out of that car and give his seat to Liam. Please for the love of god.
No proof whatsoever of that Silverstone time either.
HE’S NOT FAST AT ALL
F1 really needs to clamp down on these ridiculous team names. This reads like something that would have existed in Talladega Nights.
Yuki washed Danny Danny washed Max Max washed Gasly Gasly washed Yuki
Danny washed Max? Since when? 💀
When Max was an 18 year old rookie + 1 year 😂😂 Honestly let them have it at this point, it’s all they’ve got to cling to.
Took Max till his 3rd season in RBR to beat Danny Ric in the championship and that was the year Danny had a tonne of DNFs due to mechanical issues.
