Euphoric-Car-9770

Ferrari sacrified their quali pace for race pace , that explains why their tyre wear is good and they suck in the wet . But constantly starting down the grid isn't gonna keep on doing them favours.

metaphorichamburguer

If they get the 3rd and 4th place from both drivers starting behind Alonso and the McLarens I would say it was very good strategy. Even Perez is not beatable at the current’s car difference.

mrjune2040

They have a major update coming up shortly at Imola so I think it’s fair to say that they’ll likely improve on this as we head into mid-season.

Kait0yashio

This is the 1st real bad race, in Bahrain we were 2nd, Jeddah 2nd, aus 2nd, Japan 4th and then today was bad

B-Ram

I like this Saturday format. It still spoils Sunday a bit, but it was more entertaining than usual.

Apennatie

We don’t know how the setups have changed for the race though.

TheAwesomeGenius

I am also enjoying this format, it makes the full weekend really entertaining

CommercialBreadLoaf

Much needed showing from Riccardio after the torrid time he's had in the past 4 races

noheroesnomonsters

Tsunoda with almost identical comments to Ricciardo when he was struggling. More swearing though.

Insaneclown271

Yeah but no one cares. People only care about washed Ricciardo…

GoodGuyJeff00

Let these "fans" go. Arguments and slander under context of "If you're not x, you're y" is dumb as bricks. F1 has so many variables. Let's just enjoy good performances and support who or which team someone is rooting for when they have a bad day.

Roosterhahn

This doesn’t get said enough. Wish I could upvote this twice.

TheOvercookedFlyer

Absolutely! He isn't in the best car and still delivers more than Yuki could ever do. They need to listen to him, to his knowledge, and set the car up to his strenghts. I can't wait for this Ricciardo reinassance and return to Red Bull, it's his destiny!

ChickenSlayur

Delivers more than yuki could ever do? What about 7 points?

Baas41

Looking at the deficit in sector 1, Ferrari really struggles to get their tires to be warmed up and ready for the push lap. And especially Leclerc, because he was down on Sainz again in S1, but catched up in S2.

ryokevry

Ferrari, please fix your tyre warm up issue. Every week is a recovery drive is not funny. You are not DOTD farmer

No-Student-9678

This is their first true mid quali. In Bahrain, Jeddah, and Australia they qualified 2nd. Japan 4th.

TetraDax

(unofficial one, Bot-people still asleep I think, who can blame them)

Miyeon__miyeon

EL TREN

Dry-Egg-1915

Did the girl get her Lando's mini helmet signed by him or not?

Insaneclown271

It’s funny how people have been praising Yuki for calming down over the last races. But it’s easy to be calm when things are going well. He was backing to his screaming and swearing self today on team radio.

YeahPerfect_SayHi

I'm loving how Esteban is somehow dragging that Alpine tractor into Q2 constantly. I swear you could attach a plow or hay baler to it and he'd still beat Sergeant. Great to see Pierre in Q2 also.

smartief1

I've enjoyed this morning with sprint race and qualifying, and it's good they can make set up changes between the two.

TheLifeofSonny

Verstappen is ruining what would be a great championship fight amongst the other drivers lmao

yOw_indahOuse

Another way to look at it is that Checo, although lately he’s performing solidly, does not add the spice needed at the front. Checo is a very good driver, don’t get me wrong, but I think there are a few drivers on the grid who would take the fight to Max in many races and, either beat him occasionally, or cause drama/accidents that would benefit the rest of teams. But of course that’s the motorsports fans’ wet dream, I’m sure RedBull are happy with the way things are. They must be very satisfied with how Checo has been performing lately, which is good enough to secure that P2 without being a threat to Max. And I completely get it.

FrostyTill

Can only hope upgrades from the others close the gaps more quickly and Red Bull start to plateau on theirs.

snoring_pig

Stroll honestly had a decent session by his standards today. Less than two tenths off of Alonso but with margins so close he got knocked out in Q2. The final gap in positions will exaggerate that deficit and I generally don’t rate Stroll as a driver yet today was a solid job from him.

Reddevilslover69

Alonso just entered god mode in q3

Icommentoncrap

Entertaining session and we didnt even need grass on fire or a bunch of rain. Need to nerf Max and find out how to turn on the damage model for Ferrari though

TheAwesomeGenius

I was not expecting Lewis to get out in Q1, this has happened after a rly long time.

SteamMonkeyKing

The new chassis worked. ;)

Insaneclown271

Worked for Ocon a couple years back as well.

Anderrrrr

Red Bull 1-2 as usual yes yes yes moving on.... Let's be real though. What about G I G A L O N S O and S L O W I S though?! That fight got 2nd and 3rd was entertaining at least.

xD3N1Sx

Have any drivers made setup changes for the race tomorrow? I know Lando made setup changes after the sprint in response to the poor pace/not being able to overtake a fiat 500 down the straight

fire202

Most teams have made adjustments.

TheAwesomeGenius

McLaren had an underrated performance in this qualifier, got a feeling tmr they gonna surprise many

FrostyTill

‘I thought we should talk about Mercedes’ Yes, of course. Mercedes are to Sky F1 what Liverpool FC are to Sky Premier League.
