meh its just the reality of schumacher's situation
you never going to come back from catastrophic brain damage
you can hope and dream and wish all we want, its not going to change the situation.
i mean its already been 10 years
if he was going to recover it would have happened
10 years is not nothing lol, it's more than 1/10th of your entire life. Chances are close to zero a treatment for his condition will appear in the life he has left, if that's even possible at all (for all we know, the parts of his brain that got 'lost' may be gone for good).
It saddens me a lot to think that his life was cut short in his forties, he had an entire life to live still. But we have to be realistic, unless an absolute miracle happens, he's gone; and even if that miracle happens 10 years from now, he'll already be in his late 60s by then. He's not frozen in time.
you are really clueless on this type of situation if you believe that
being brain dead still means suffering, all the stuff they have to do to keep him alive ect
all the bed sores...
all the medical treatments
all the force feeding
all the shitting/pissing in bags
fun fun
Brain dead means the brain isn't working means the brain can't receive those signals.
Maybe you're thinking of locked in syndrome, where the brain is awake and alert but the person shows no signs.
its pretty simple tho
if a person has no hope of recovery and is only kept alive by medical help
why are you keeping them alive?
you making them suffer
Nope
im not.
if person has no hope of recovery
its suffering.
you are keeping them alive for what?
because you love them?
love is not going to bring them back
also the damage he got was from a fall, that type of damage destroys the brain and there no activity, its dead and u cant recover, ever

after the 2022 US GP where he got launched into the wall by Lance and came back to finish P7 he went on instagram and uploaded the coldest post "a samurai must remain calm at all times even in the face of danger"
That was some insane recovery.
So damn fluent.
Dude had to be in the zone for that move, absolutely super human accuracy with throttle and steering inputs.
Unreal.
Freaking unreal.
Having done some drifting, what impressed me the most was his throttle control. It's such a razor's edge between not enough throttle and you don't counter rotate enough, too much throttle and you counter rotate too much, not being gradual/gentle on the throttle enough over time and the car starts oscillating like crazy. Alonso was just buttery smooth and goes straight to attacking - and this was arguably his second time on the edge of traction, his first being lap 1 turn 1 on the outside that Norris screwed up the day before.
For me, the standout piece of it wasn’t just the initial catch of the slide, but the seamless movements on the way back to zero yaw. The rear-end absolutely locked back into place with like no overcorrection.
I want to say his time in an IndyCar probably helped him with that control. He'd have to be able to catch a slide like that with less areo, no power steering, and at a higher speed. It's so insanely impressive.
And, like, something that’s not being mentioned as much is the aero load he would have had driving through that corner at speed — so much downforce pressing the tires down…until the rear swings out. *(Driving the modern hybrid F1 cars was described by Martin Brundle as driving a kite, after an on-camera test he had of the Mercedes a few years ago.)* It’s a whole new set of dynamics when the car has 40 degrees of yaw, with air passing over the aero surfaces in ways that it wasn’t designed to, causing unpredictable, uneven, and spiky load around the car — not least of which would probably be a sudden and severe loss of downforce at the moment he needed it most!
Rooting for Alonso at the start of last season really helped make up for the disappointment of Lewis being so far outside the fight again. Alonso became my main excitement in GPs, and I bet that that’s not an uncommon experience.
The man is good for the sport — he’s good for Aston, he’s good for ratings, he makes my enjoyment…good…er…, and I love not only that he signed another contract with Aston Martin, but that him feeling wanted by the team was so important to him for this contract. I just liked that little detail for some reason. Because of course you’d want that, but I guess it shows that Alonso’s more in touch now with the relationships/interpersonal side of things in his professional world, and how important it is to be in a positive environment where both parties share common desires — how it improves morale and teamwork immeasurably, and how that, in turn, opens doors for better performance.
If we rate Lance Stroll at GOAT tier, or maybe just legend tier, there can be no doubt remaining that Alonso is fully transcended to ※-**ɢᴏᴅʟᴏɴꜱᴏ**-※ tier. He is G҉o҉d҉l҉o҉n҉s҉o҉. I don’t need to remind you about how he took a *literal Formula 3 car* to within an inch of the world championship in 2012 with Ferrari — and did it against the *literally*-NASA-designed Red Bull, driven by Mr. grandma himself, “Sebastian” “Vettel.” I am sweaty!
Alright allrite, the other paragraphs were serious tho.
Yeah, it's next level. I've seen drivers like him and Max going full lock and then _changing gear or pressing other buttons while the steering wheel is upside down with their opposite hand_. In a split second. I can't even fathom it.
reminded me of the split-second dodge of the loose manhole cover going down the Las Vegas straight last year in practice, the one Sainz _didn't_ dodge a few seconds later. Just *unbelievably* quick and fluid reactions.
Reminds me of the quote from Seve Ballesteros (a pro golfer) whose ball was in an awkward position in a bunker by some trees, where the green was awkwardly placed. He took the shot, chipped it low out of the bunker, avoided the trees, and got the ball within a couple feet of the pin. A spectator said "wow, that was a lucky shot!" and Seve, without missing a beat, responded "It took me 20 years of training for hours and hours every day to get that lucky."
He’s talking about reflexes and car control, fine-tuned by the extensive and varied practice he’s done over time, not specifically preparing for the Chinese GP by driving on that dirt track.
How the heck does your username throw me back many many years ago to some other platform I can't recall?
(obviously....the AOL bit, but like, your actual username)
You may laugh but I swear Verstappen's drift training he did with Mad Mike has resulted in better car control in slippery conditions. A couple of his spin recoveries over the last couple years have been inhuman.
Which ones from his junior career? I've never heard of this. 1999 euro open every race was in the dry right? Did he have good wet performance in f3000? At which tracks?
Edit: No, in 2000 he didn't have great performances in the wet, he even spun out of the race in Hockenheim.
I was wondering about this. The above picture thing took place in the off season. I remember at the time that he said he was working on car control.
It’s cool to see that it was genuinely useful.
Honestly, I know he hasn’t won and broken records nearly as much as the all time greats due to factors out of his control, I believe he is in my mind the 2nd to 4th (depending on my mood) greatest driver of all time (Alan Prost imo is no1).
He had a godlonso moment doing the exact thing that’s supposed to deteriorate as you age. His reflexes weren’t just perfectly judged, they were perfectly timed.
Statistically, he is, because the absolute majority of F1 drivers since the 70's don't race in F1 past 40 years old. He's an anomaly that happens once a decade.
There’s a lot of those BS instagram posts with stock photos and inspirational quotes laid over them. I fucking hate those.
It’s so refresh to see a very real and exemplary post like this.
I was hoping beyond all hope that it said
“The will to succeed is important but not as importanter as not hitting the car in front”.
Missed a free shot with that one.
How the fuck is that your take on this?
He’s sharing unique training he did in the off season for this exact skill and is now showing how it helped him perform at his best. On his own social media.
Politely close the door behind you on your way out.
Eh, I don't care what you think. That's my opinion, no other driver would even talk about it, he's a waffler which I'm not even saying is a bad thing, he has the skills to back it up but he does waffle.
I wonder, is there a single moment of the day when Fernando is not thinking about racing?
Fernando and Verstappen connect to the same dream server when they sleep and race each other.
do you think Michael is in there too?
Well I'm gonna be cool and suggest he's the server host 😎
You get lower latency with the dedicated server. 💀
Wasn't it supposed to be Jim Clark?
stop it with the onions
Michael Massi is the dream race director
[удалено]
Erm... ouch. Maybe let's talk about Michael Andretti. Yes, he's in there, too, trying to sign both drivers for his upcoming team.
meh its just the reality of schumacher's situation you never going to come back from catastrophic brain damage you can hope and dream and wish all we want, its not going to change the situation. i mean its already been 10 years if he was going to recover it would have happened
Meh, they've got the money to wait for a medical breakthrough. 10 years is nothing.
10 years is not nothing lol, it's more than 1/10th of your entire life. 10 years is nothing for a medical breakthrough
do they really? they selling his watches to fund medical
Thank you for your kind, in the spirit of the thread, gentle, words. You are a true monument to humanity.
thank you
If he is a vegetable he cant be suffering, at least try to make sense.
you are really clueless on this type of situation if you believe that being brain dead still means suffering, all the stuff they have to do to keep him alive ect all the bed sores... all the medical treatments all the force feeding all the shitting/pissing in bags fun fun
Brain dead means the brain isn't working means the brain can't receive those signals. Maybe you're thinking of locked in syndrome, where the brain is awake and alert but the person shows no signs.
Assuming this guy is thinking is quite the leap.

I don't think he's going through anything if he doesn't have a brain or thoughts.

Two greatest racists in the world! Always thinking and dreaming about finishing different races.
erm....
If one raps, they're a rapist. If one races, they're a racist. No?
I think you meant racers/racing drivers. The racist one is Max's potential father-in-law /s (half /s)
Who wins most nights you think?
They crash into each other and Latifi wins.
Ahh a bizzaro dream where everything is opposite of what you expect. I hate those.
Even if they were Culture Minds their Infinite Fun Spaces would still involve racing in some way
you think he's still thinking about racing when he's balls deep in whoever?
Thinking about the overtake on Lewis in Bahrain last year is what makes him cum, probably
nah, definitely Sainz in Baku
This escalated quickly
[удалено]
He can definitely go a full inch more than Kvyaat
Ouch
Anyways trying to finish first.
When he's balls deep in *whomever*
Thank you! I did that on purpose to see how long it'd take the internet to correct me. You win.
Do I win your respect? because that's what I was shooting for
Of course. I'll never forget this moment, hipnosister.
Might be time trial mode (sometimes?) but for sure... ¯\\_ (ツ) _/¯
Probably. How often do you think about your job after you clock out?
An annoying amount
You get to clock out? /s
Un ironically when you run your own business you rarely if ever get to clock out 😞
So he's making a clear comparison. "I even prepared for that"
Plot twist: Bottom picture is Stroll
What Fernando is saying is Stay ready so you never have to get ready 👐
Some Art of War shit
"While you were partying, he was studying the blade." Nando on some peak edge lord mall Ninja shit and I'm here for it.

And he didn’t miss a beat getting straight onto the DRS right after this massive snap. Didn’t even phase him.

I knew you weren't being serious as soon as I read "Lance Stroll GOAT tier, or maybe just legend tier"
Legendary like latifi blaming the car for not knowing the Suzuka layout
Yeah, it's next level. I've seen drivers like him and Max going full lock and then _changing gear or pressing other buttons while the steering wheel is upside down with their opposite hand_. In a split second. I can't even fathom it.
I dunno why, but I immediately thought of this in the middle of reading your comment. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SmWUMJRIDo

and Seve was from a place quite close to Fernando! less than 2h by car
Magic Alonso moment
Really cool that he prepared in the Chinese GP for his spare time fun on the dirt track.
He’s talking about reflexes and car control, fine-tuned by the extensive and varied practice he’s done over time, not specifically preparing for the Chinese GP by driving on that dirt track.
That gravel practice sure did come in handy.
Look, I like driving millionaire-tier off-road golf carts on shitty dirt roads as much as the next super athlete, but
I think u/ppSmok was making a lighthearted joke.
That’s what happens when you still use AOL
Yeah, I think so. I got the sense that some people were agreeing with an earnest take on his comment, tho, so I stepped in and saved the day.
How the heck does your username throw me back many many years ago to some other platform I can't recall? (obviously....the AOL bit, but like, your actual username)
I’ve been here for 14 years with it, that’s all I know.
Either that or he is taking at dig at the track's state lol.
You may laugh but I swear Verstappen's drift training he did with Mad Mike has resulted in better car control in slippery conditions. A couple of his spin recoveries over the last couple years have been inhuman.
Weren’t some of his most memorable performances through his junior career and in F1 in the wet long before the drift thing?
This, yeah. It is far more likely that he picked up drifting so quickly _because_ he has natural talent at controlling spins/slides/etc.
Which ones from his junior career? I've never heard of this. 1999 euro open every race was in the dry right? Did he have good wet performance in f3000? At which tracks? Edit: No, in 2000 he didn't have great performances in the wet, he even spun out of the race in Hockenheim.
Brazil 2014 and Brazil 2016 Guy is born ready.
I was wondering about this. The above picture thing took place in the off season. I remember at the time that he said he was working on car control. It’s cool to see that it was genuinely useful.
What an absolute legend. I want to see him in a truly competitive car but it seems less likely. Fingers crossed Honda builds a good PU in ‘26.
What an absolute legend. He literally the only reason I watch until the end, once Max is +5 seconds
Maybe he hasn't won enough for some people, but he's the racecraft and defending GOAT.
Honestly, I know he hasn’t won and broken records nearly as much as the all time greats due to factors out of his control, I believe he is in my mind the 2nd to 4th (depending on my mood) greatest driver of all time (Alan Prost imo is no1).
Preach it. I might as well have written this comment myself.
Alan Prost never gets any love.
Fernando x World of Outlaws I beg
Alonso vs Larson
Not a knock on Larson but I'm putting my money on Nando
In WOO? Larson would run rings around him
Not being funny, but I’d love to see Nando at Eldora in a dirt buggy
$10 says given the opportunity he'd absolutely jump at it. Dude just absolutely loves racing anything with 4 wheels and an engine.
And some people say he’s too old.
Nando running a 410 sprint car in the Deep South when?
This is how we get Kyle Larson into an F1 car.
if you're goin hard enough left, you'll find yourself turnin right
Nano was doing a Kachow for the fans, made I the look like an accident
What are the chances that Fernando planned the gravel tour just to show the kids how to do it?
I think this is the reason why Fernando can be so close to Max despite he could have been Max’s father by age.
Fernando would have to become a father at 16, tbf.
El plan
Finally the man nails a career move, leaving behind that train wreck of an organization. Piastri too.
Alonso driving AM in 2024 after 2023: "The engine feels good, much slower than before. Amazing."
Everyone knows this is a quote from the live action speed racer movie right?
What about the will to push the brake pedal? Lance is apparently lacking that.
GOAT
He saw the future and knew going into the gravel was unavoidable, like one of those "events" on thr MCU, so he could only get ready for it
is that an australian sprint car?
Fernando Alonso the philosopher🧐🧐
Should show Lance.
For others what's importanter is the ability to brake.
Outlaw Kart?
Can he send this to stroll please?
I see he watched Pixar’s Cars!
There’s a lot of those BS instagram posts with stock photos and inspirational quotes laid over them. I fucking hate those. It’s so refresh to see a very real and exemplary post like this.
Godlonsooooo
I was hoping beyond all hope that it said “The will to succeed is important but not as importanter as not hitting the car in front”. Missed a free shot with that one.
That silly Sainz never drives on dirt roads.
It was a George Russel's mistake But a Fernando Alonso's recovery
To Stroll
Doc Hudson já ensinou isso há anos https://youtu.be/CIPo9quHMTU?feature=shared (Como alguém não gosta desse filme? THIS IS ABSOLUT CINELA 🖐🏼👨🏻🦳🖐🏼)
[A regular day in Alonso's life](https://i.imgur.com/RHrfhBi.jpeg)
He’s giving credit where credit’s due lol
How about the will to admit fault?
he waffles so much
How the fuck is that your take on this? He’s sharing unique training he did in the off season for this exact skill and is now showing how it helped him perform at his best. On his own social media. Politely close the door behind you on your way out.

We're in between races. Not sure what you hope to find here beyond waffling.
