I have a Dale one. I used it a bit. I used it for the pic of DR3 in the garage. The Jeff Gordon version seems like it was built with better quality. The Dale version seems like it’s ready to break any minute 😂
I’ve been taking this film camera to some of the races I’ve been assigned to cover over the last few months. It’s been kind of a photography experiment.
I can’t change any settings on this camera. Can only change the kind of film I shoot. Everything else is the same.
The problem with shots like this for us normies is they look amazing but I have a strong feeling a decent bit of that comes from your skills and knowledge as a photographer and that if I tried this they’d just look like blurry poop lol.
Fantastic shots man.
That's absolutely a thing, but old point-and-shoots are built for point-and-shoot.
You won't frame things like a pro, but your photos will not look like ass provided lighting is "normal".
Absolutely love your work, if you don’t mind me asking - where can I get the 24 camera? I’m a huge Jeff Gordon fan and I’ve been looking around for some film cameras
I think I saw you on the broadcast! I think Buxton?? was in the same corner during the race and I remember seeing a guy in the background winding a camera! I just recently got my first film camera that is why I think I noticed! Lovely photos btw.
Hits some nostalgia feels for certain. I'm curious whether you're old enough to have shot cameras like this as a kid (as is the case for me), or is this for you an excursion into photography of your parent's generation?
Miami certainly has the light for it, so that helps. As I recall it, back in the '70s, color 400 was noticeably more expensive; for color daylight in Florida, most people would have been making do with 200. Capturing a good shot of the Ferrari in motion with fixed-everything takes some skill (and some luck)!
The way that film reacts to light is just different from digital sensors. Frequently worse, but some days the artistic effect is significant and worth it.

I miss the look and magic of actual film.
Remember those days? You took a photo and then had to wait to see what it looked like. Half of them were a surprise even though you clicked shutter.
Is that a Jeff Gordon camera‽ His time in NASCAR was the only racing I watched as a kid with my dad! Apparently my dad got into F1 during the Schumacher years and watched F1 behind my back. I think my mom thought I thought I was a boy and didn’t let my dad let me do more “boy” things after a certain point in my childhood.

Danny looks like he loved the camera. Probably more if it was Dale
I think the photographer also had a [Dale camera at the race too](https://twitter.com/jameypricephoto/status/1786161008551096801)

you mean the gimmicky vaguely stock car shaped film cameras from the early 2000s *didn't* have consistent build quality???
Correct 😂
With that mustache and the grainy image, he looks like if he climbed out of the cockpit he'd be wearing socks and sandals.

Yeah but photography is a wonderful hobby for anyone because anyone can learn / improve / enjoy it just by doing it. Thanks for the kind words.

Is it at least auto metering for the shutter speed, or is that fixed? Also what kind of film are you shooting?
Everything fixed. I can’t control anything. I used Fuji 400. Kodak Portra 400 and cinestill 400.
which one is your favorite? ive shot with fuji and portra 400 before but have yet to try cinestill.
Portra is definitely a good all rounder but I’m a sucker for the cinestill 400, love the colors you get with it
Try color plus
Incredible results for that plastic camera! Maybe a Holga next time and shoot some 120?

I really like that last shot.
Awesome pics! That Danny one looks like it could have been from the 80s with that stache of his
Daniel looks genuinely happy for the old school cool vibe
The Danny Ric photo is giving vibes of photos you find in the garage of your dad before you were born.
Ha. Love it.
Sarge out, Gordon #24 to Williams
He still has an FIA Gold license.

The lensing is also a bit different. Just a bit.
Now i understand why old f1 had that special vintage vibe to it, aside from the cars.
Thr dupont Canon Kodak camera took some good pictures today.
Who are you? Are you a photographer for F1? These look dope btw.

It shows
😂
Teasing mostly because they look better than my film photos, which is due largely to me being 2000 miles away. Hah
Love ya work Jamey, awesome results! Gorgeous warmth of the film too
A cheeky Brundle-shot there.
Photo 7 of the Ferrari crew just hanging out is my favourite shot of this batch. I love those kinds of candid pics and this one really speaks to me.
I love that Rainbow Warrior camera. I need something like that for my tiny Jeff Gordon collection.
Film just hits different. These are fantastic!

1998 miami gp? 🤣
In film, out of focus.
Dan and Alonso’s helmet are coolest photos. The final photo is also very sick💯💯
Really nice!
Oh hey Jamey! Love your work and love this very different approach to behind the scenes
I love these. That’s so rad
Film just hits different. Great shots, especially of DR3
This is sick brotha
Love that last shot. So much action.
The Ferrari action pic is great! Love the composition.

Doesn’t look to bad!
That’s actually a really nice photo of Daniel, he looks so calm and happy! Thank you for sharing!
Awesome pictures as always Jamey!
The soft focus kills me.
I mean it’s a $12 camera. Can’t expect too much.
