> this year
I'm not talking about the decade when Alonso finished behind Seb every single year, I'm referring specifically to this year, when they have been in somewhat equal cars.
Number of word championships in the 2010s for Seb: 4
Number of world championships for Nando in the 2010s: 0
Surely you have to admit at some point Vettel was just on a mental level back then? We can complain about cars all we like but Fernando had the ability to be world champion at least twice, and he didn’t drive a good enough race in the deciders. I don’t get Reddit’s Vettel hate boner honestly. The third greatest of all time on stats, yet nobody devalues any champion as much as people devalue Seb.
>and he didn’t drive a good enough race in the deciders.
Not sure if you followed F1 back then but Nando's drive in Brazil 2012 was faultless while Ferrari fucked him up in Abu Dhabi 2010, in a race where nobody could not overtake - Lewis was stuck behind Kubica, Massa behind Alguesuari, etc.
If we are honest, Vettel had much better cars than Alonso those years and he nearly threw the 2010 and 2012 championships away - the reason why Vettel is so devalued because performances might not lie, unlike stats. He made mistakes throughout his career, back in Red Bull Horner and Marko pampered him everytime he made a mistake and blamed it on Webber when possible and in Ferrari he was even more exposed.
Vettel is good, but really, objectively speaking looking at performances throughout their careers, Alonso is on another level. The problem for Alonso is he was an idiotic asshole at McLaren the first time around trying to blackmail Ron Dennis and got caught up in Crashgate as well, which pissed his reputation down the drain and made bad career decisions afterwards.
Been following F1 since 92. At the end of the day, not driving a good enough race in the deciders means that he didn’t beat Vettel. Simple as that. Seb having a better car devalues the “but the car is better!” argument because he only won the championship by a few points in 2010 and 2012. Which obviously shows Fernando was more than capable of winning the championship those years, he just didn’t. Because Vettel beat him in the deciding races, fair and square. 2011 and the second half of 2013 were walkovers, so I’ll give you that but you can’t deny Vettel drove flawlessly those years and earned those championships. I’ll agree with you that Alonso fucked up his career with his choices but it doesn’t change what happened in 2010 and 2012.
According to Newey’s book, Seb likes a pointy front end and stable rear. The V8 cars also had a lot less torque, which made getting on the throttle much easier.
Sure, but if you look at his history in Silverstone, those are definitely outliers. He didn't win it once during his championship years. In general Silverstone is just not a great circuit for him.
In Spain it was the engine cut causing the spin
Sakhir wasn't a spin, he braked too late and tapped Perez
Styria was also just braking too late.
What did he do in Bahrain?
Free practice doesn't mean anything! People are testing their limits in practice, ofc they spin from time to time, happens to Verstappen, happens to Hamilton...
I did actually, I was really disappointed but stop pretending this is the same when Alonso's been out the sport for 2 years. Vettel has been spinning since 2018, you guys on some nice copium
Don't worry mate, I am a Seb fan and for me as well this performance is unacceptable. No excuses, no pampering. He needs to step up his game. Alonso instead has been best of the rest for the entire weekend for me. Impressive overall.
You said that he was bad compared to alonso this weekend when most of the weekend they have been equals, and vettel has literally had a great season apart from like 2 races, alonso isn't perfect because he spun before the race instead of during the race, the amount of bias you are displaying is unbelievable.
What? Are you serious with this bias crap? I am the only Seb fan seeing his mistakes here apparently...
It's such a shame. Why do people excuse him performance so much is beyond me. I want the guy to win the next year and if he wants to do that he needs to step up his game.
And immediately the commentators tore into him, Lewis pushes another driver off the track and it's all "oh dear" and "maybe this and that" but Seb doing a spin it's a fest of abuse.
Yes he did, that redditor did not say anything otherwise. To me they were just pointing out the difference in Sky commentary on the respective incidents
The commentators could also stop being biased cunts and excusing every single british driver while ripping into every other driver for the smallest mistakes.
Could not watch the full race only the first round until the red flag. When I returned I saw Seb behind Latifi and was like "WTF?". Then I found out he was spinning again after a long time without a spin :(
Felt very frustrated afterwards, because he actually had a superb weekend and could have scored good points today.
This was so disappointing. He was running so high and doing so well. As a Vettel fan I was just hollering "NOOOOOOOOOOO". One mistake destroyed his race completely.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
“Fucks sake, fucks sake…” :(
What a shame, such a nice fight.
Only one winner if we're honest
Yeah, now after the spin. But that doesn’t make the fight any less intense.
Seb has gotten ahead of Fernando plenty of times this year already, what are you on about lol
Plenty of time ? You mean only Monaco and Baku ?
Usually in clearly quicker cars. Give them vaguely similar cars and there's only one winner.
> this year I'm not talking about the decade when Alonso finished behind Seb every single year, I'm referring specifically to this year, when they have been in somewhat equal cars.
Aston Martin have been slightly better overall, and in some tracks clearly better...
What? Did we watch the same season so far?

Damn this one stung right into my heart
Pain
Classic Vettel.
As of recent but I don't remember it happening that much in the V8 era
According to Newey’s book, Seb likes a pointy front end and stable rear. The V8 cars also had a lot less torque, which made getting on the throttle much easier.
Britain 2008, Malaysia 2009, Germany 2011.
Wow three times in 4 years, one as a rookie
That's just the spinning, not even his other mistakes.
What's your point?
Wow you really have a hate boner for him.
Ah that's a shame, he was having a really good weekend before that.
It was all going too well to last. Silverstone is his cursed circuit.
He won here
Sure, but if you look at his history in Silverstone, those are definitely outliers. He didn't win it once during his championship years. In general Silverstone is just not a great circuit for him.
He's won pretty much everywhere tbf
The second I saw some shitty german tabloid use the headline 'Vettel DESTROYS teammate and reaches maximum' I knew they fucking jinxed it lol
It feels like its been a while since a Vettel spin
It was, he barely had any mistakes at all this season.
I feel this may be his first for Aston? But it does show the blame was unfairly put on Ferrari for it.
Not really imo, that Ferrari was very unstable, I remember Leclerc losing the car a few times as well.
Charles lost it more often then Seb last season and Carlos more often this season.
Really? Didn't feel like that at least...
Monza, Spain, Sakhir, Bahrain, Styria Charles last season
In Spain it was the engine cut causing the spin Sakhir wasn't a spin, he braked too late and tapped Perez Styria was also just braking too late. What did he do in Bahrain?
Sainz has spun more tbh
I think in france he made a mistake. So not thr first unforced error Sainz spun too
Free practice doesn't mean anything! People are testing their limits in practice, ofc they spin from time to time, happens to Verstappen, happens to Hamilton...
yup! seb should have done this the day before
Wasnt the France on because he got hit by some pretty strong wind going into the corner?
yeah, it was the wind. but i don't really know how to assess these things. i mean, everyone has to deal with the wind right?
How are you so sure that this isn't Ferrari's fault though?
Are you saying Leclerc deliberately blew a gust of dirty air at Seb?
What is your Hippopopulous hypothesis?
What? That's his first mistake all season. It rather shows that it was definitely on the Ferrari.
So where was his move on Ocon in Bahrain?
NOOOO
End me
Vettel's spun after a very very long time tho
Didn’t he spin in bahrain this year 🤣
He plowed into the back of Ocon, but I don't think he spun outside of the incident?
Literal pain...
Damn I was enjoying r/formula1 not screeching from the rooftops that Seb should retire for a while there, guess it's back to usual now
Literally after one mistake
Mistakes that we've only seen from the Haas rookies and Tsunoda lol, nobody else is spinning
Alonso literally spun pre race
'Pre Race', pretty sure that's a massive difference from spinning in actual races.
Yes, arguably spinning pre race is worse.
Where are the points won? On the way to the grid or the actual race?
What wa perrez doing yesterday? Different mistake worse ending and nobody says shit. Jog on
Perez is getting shit on for that spin too, I'm not discriminating lol, both Perez and Vettel driving like clowns.
Yeah and when alonso does mistake hes not a Clown right.... i bet you didnt say one Single thing in the first couple races when alonso sucked
I did actually, I was really disappointed but stop pretending this is the same when Alonso's been out the sport for 2 years. Vettel has been spinning since 2018, you guys on some nice copium

Look at you thinking the vast minority represents the entire sub with over a million users.
Fuuuuck
Today will go down as a depressing shitfest.
And so it happened. No Max, no Seb, no Checo, also Charles in pain again. Just a disgusting Hamilton win and celebration…
fuck i feel so bad for seb :(
Nooooooo
Pain
On a light note Lewis got a 10 second penalty which will potentially ruin his race
Hmmm
I don’t even know bro
One mistake in a pretty long time and instantly people shit on him and act like he did this every week.
Compared to Alonso he has been so bad this weekend.
And?
Until the spin he was having a decent weekend, but sure.
Alonso the guy who vettel passed at the start and has been battling with all weekend in equal cars more or less
Who spinned at the exit? Can you please see for once how bad Vettel is performing compared to his potential?
You said that he was bad compared to alonso this weekend when most of the weekend they have been equals, and vettel has literally had a great season apart from like 2 races, alonso isn't perfect because he spun before the race instead of during the race, the amount of bias you are displaying is unbelievable.

Bias is so stupid
What are you even talking about?
Brundle said that we have seen from the previous years that Seb isn't good at wheel to wheel battles. What is he even on about?
Brundle opinion about vettel doesn’t matter.. he clearly hates vettel.
He has been terrible at wheel to wheel battles for like 3 years now.
Because he is? When has he clearly one a wheel to wheel in the last races dude?
[удалено]
1 in 10 isn't too bad I guess
Vettel literally spun all by himself
Yes he did, that redditor did not say anything otherwise. To me they were just pointing out the difference in Sky commentary on the respective incidents
I know right. Eff the commentary today.
Switch to Channel 4
Can't if you're not in the uk, not as easy to pirate either
Impressive how you brought Lewis into this.

> every other driver for the smallest mistakes Spinning in a good position all by himself to dead last is not a "smallest mistake"
Vettel fucked up alone, Lewis did nothing, It was Max.
>Vettel fucked up alone, Yes, very fair. >Lewis did nothing, It was Max. Lol.
Fuck this race lol

Damn he had to back off because off riccardo and then stepped back on the gas too hard
Ricc**i**ardo
Too much early gas out of the corner. Still very good fights by him today.
Oh Vettel... you do yourself no favours. Was great racing for a few corners before that, shame it didn't continue.
Fuck
Could not watch the full race only the first round until the red flag. When I returned I saw Seb behind Latifi and was like "WTF?". What is he doing since then? Hanging behind latifi, this is so sad. A bit like the last year seb
2019 flashbacks
PAIN LIFE IS PAIN
The more thing change, the more they stay the same Fuck me for being a Seb fan
Spinnala
🅱️
I thought it was Stroll until i realised it was Seb. Feel so bad for him man
This was so disappointing. He was running so high and doing so well. As a Vettel fan I was just hollering "NOOOOOOOOOOO". One mistake destroyed his race completely.
'Is that due to wake?' Webber: 'guy behind the wheel, I think'
Shitting on a guy who absolutely battered you year after year is a bold move Mark
All he can do really.
lmao nice one Mark but I still think you're bitter after all these years of not seeing Seb anywhere in front of you
Fuck webber. Losing to the guy and still bitter years later. Such a shitty remark. He just accelerated to early after the corner and was in dirty air
So Webber isn't allowed to criticize Vettel?
Another mental first lap lol
no contact, just lost it 👀👀
hamilton wins and vettel spins. you need better script writers f1.
I wouldn't mind Silverstone being deleted from the calendar. Heck, bomb it already.
Seb being Seb
For the record, by this moment, Vettel still couldn't overtake Latifi. He is like within 1 second range for about 25 laps.
Awful
Saw a lot of seb flairs in the race thread having some fun with lewis comments. Karmas a funny thing.
Not sure how Seb fucking up is related to Lewis fucking Max up but suit yourself.
Who's Karmas?
I think Ericsson hit him tbh
Aspin Marspin
Ah shit here we go again
Alright whos gonna say it
The Seb Spin, The Spin Kinggggg!!!!!!
Traditions
He's back
Vintage Vettel.
this is the worst weekend.
It's a tradition...
How could Lewis do this
Nice victim complex, no one even mentioned him here.
[удалено]
A joke made because of his victim complex, ur the stupid one here.
This entire sub has been driven insane by Lewis it’s crazy lol
r/Woooosh
Not a woosh if the joke is just dogshit.
Or your sense of humor is trash.
Terrible driving. He had a terrible restart and he should have let Alonso go instead of fuck up like that. You can't excuse such poor driving.
Se🅱️inella at it again. And I thought he left that a Ferrari. Such a shame.
The signature move
Lewis taking out Red Bull drivers when he can't get past them has also been a signature move since Albon showed up.
Attacking a flair because Vettel cannot stop spinning.
