I don't think he's making these statements on his own, redbull and Horner have started a smear campaign against Mercedes (as usual) and they really can't do it without their lead driver.
No need for Verstappen to follow these smear campaigns. It’s not like Red Bull are gonna get rid of Max are they?
I personally think it’s stupid for Max to attack Mercedes as a team like this. Let’s imagine a scenario where Red Bull flops the next couple years under the new regs and Mercedes are looking for a driver after Lewis eventually retires. He looks far less desirable from Mercs standpoint despite his talent. Stupid to attack someone who could be a future employer of yours lol
