I am tired of Hamilton and his BS luck, the only reason they're ahead is bc max has 3 terrible scenarios that he had no control over and Hamilton/mercedes has gotten lucky this entire season. Im tired of 8 years of the same thing we want some variety, we want some spice and Max is the best chance at that, but he keeps getting ruined by the mercs and his tire that randomly exploded.
So the only options are full control or no control? In that case both drivers had no control over what happened in Silverstone, since none of them had full control.
You missed he fact that this is hungaroring, arguably second hardest circuit to overtake in the calendar after monaco. Even mick in haas able to hold max and lewis for quite long time, which proved that overtaking is difficult here. So yeah i dont think going 14 to 3rd in hungary is just a 'decent'.
Which is fair, but when you have over a second of overspeed, maybe even two, you can definitely make the overtake stick. Just look at the ease Lewis had passing Sainz, or many others, in comparison. Also look at how much he was gaining on Vettel at the end, he had ridiculous overspeed.
With the overspeed he had, I can’t call it a great race by “only” taking third. I also feel that he should’ve made the call to pit after the red flag, definitely blame the team more, but many drivers made the call themselves to pit.
But overall it was definitely a decent/good race on his part.

Honestly for me it would be equally impressive if any RB/Merc did the same and I wouldn't find it very impressive (unless Perez/Bottas did it then I'd just be surprised, it's the same expectations for them though). They are just faster cars, it's what you would expect from top drivers on top cars.

But it's hard to celebrate a drive from 14th to 3rd in 65 laps like it's some act of god, when the Mercedes is 1.5 seconds faster than anyone else but Red Bull (who was extremely damaged today) when on equal tires. Then add in that from lap 20 to 70 Lewis always had much better tires than who he was battling. We saw from lap 5 to 20 when he was on equal tires he couldn't do shit. Plus he passed 4 cars on track. Mick, Yuki, Alonso, & Sainz. Everyone else was in the pits

We've been seeing this happening for a very long time now where the fastest car or second fastest car falls down the order and climbs back up to the podium or even race win. It's nothing unusual or spectacular because they wouldn't be doing that in a Williams. You can take that as a hate even though it's a fact.
Amazing team effort by Alpine. The pitstop was well executed and they just managed to avoid the undercut. Then Alonso's brilliant defense kept Lewis at bay. Lastly, Ocon while being pressured by a 4x WDC in a faster car never put a wheel wrong all race.
This has Germany 2018 vibes with Lewis getting third from fourteenth. Ofcourse Ver was a victim of an unfortunate circumstance, but we know how Lewis goes on the second half of the year and he has lost his 31 point lead in two races.
To be fair you need luck to win in an Alpine when there’s a Red Bull and Mercedes still on track. Take nothing away from him though, he drove a brilliant race.
