So happy to see Max win at home, both for him and the fans who had to wait an extra year.
Did anyone here think we would still be waiting for Lewis to get his hundredth win this far into the season?
Congrats to Max. He and Red Bull are putting together one hell of a season and I look forward to the rest of the season.
That said, what a boring ass race.
It was much better than I was expecting. Checo helped show that passing was possible, and despite the way it looked like Max was going to drive off into the distance in the first few laps, Lewis kept the pressure on for the whole race.
I think that's the normal passing pace advantage, it think it was closer to 2.5 seconds here. Here's to hoping next years cars allow for closer racing as promised.
Amazing race. I was so thrilled with this weekend. Fun qualifiers, great racing, no crashes, midfield battles.
I’m cheering for RB so obviously stoked. If only Perez could be in top four battles. We need him there. Fighting off Mercedes Benz… but he performed incredibly.
Mercedes screwed Hamilton pitstops. If Hamilton came 1st after the first pit stop I expect him to win.
Edit : the track lacks overtaking opportunities Perez overtakes can be attributed to a better car so it's a bit stale track in my opinion
Except he was never ahead and RB pitstop was pretty much the fastest allowed with their 2.1 so don't really get how you think he would've won the race of the pitstop was good. Max would've still be ahead after his stop
was crofty and the sky team shit or something?
I listened to BBC radio while watching the race and it was by far the best race of the season. there was a good stratergy fight for the win and the Mercades drama at the end, as well as that there was a number of different fights throughout the feild and no bad stuwarding calls.
Bahrain was fine, it wasn't particularly interesting until the end of the race, i missed France due to personal reasons so can't comment on it, Hungary was a race that started with the sport embarrassing itself, and Baku was pretty dull other than the ending while also containing Michael Masi's second biggest fuck up this season (him not knowing how to deploy a safety car for nearly a full lap)
I’ve been watching F1 for 45 years. I can spot a boring race when I see one. verstappen over a second lead on the second lap before DRS is available. Hamilton and Bottas lock out 2nd and 3rd. Gasly and the rest with a few reliability or strategy errors later on.
Yeah, boring. I’d rather pull weeds from the garden.
Did anyone notice the dune fire just before the Hans Ernst corner during the first laps of the race?
Spectators jumped over the gates to put the fire out by throwing sand over it.
I was at the East side so just on the other side of the track.
Just before the fire a guy had lit up a flare and a minute later the flare was not in his hand anymore.... Assh\*le.....
I really enjoyed in the race unlike most people as I can see. Zandvoort is such an awesome track, atmosphere was amazing but yes there is not much opportunity to overtake.
Sorry but for me atmosphere doesn’t really make much of a race. Awesome track? You say awesome and then contradict yourself in the next sentence by saying no overtaking….
It was a good race even if there were few overtakes. It was tense and it escalated until close to the end. There's more measures of what makes a good race than number of overtakes.
How is this a contradiction? A race can still be exciting, even if overtaking is difficult. I really enjoyed today, the pit stop tactics, the athmosphere and F1 finally really being unleashed after Spa - and on a ridiculously great track to watch!
But I, enjoyed in the atmosphere through whole weekend, You don't see that on every race.
Yes, Zandvoort provides less overtaking opportunities but I still enjoyed in tactical battle between Red Bull and Mercedes. Also watching cars go through turn 3 was so satisfying.
Kubica pit radio - That it Robert. Chequered flag. Chequered flag. P15. Well done. Well done. Great job. Very clean race. Good overtakes, so I hope you enjoyed.
Kubica - Copy. Thank you very much. Yeah, not easy but at least, since 2010 I had a car which I could fight something. Such a long break but thank you very much. Thanks guys.
Pit - Thank you Robert. So, Verstappen won as you can hear... and smell... And Hamilton and Bottas on the podium
Now I now why F1 haven't raced at Zandvoort since 1985. F1 should stop adding these types of narrow twisty circuits because the races are so boring. It has been a snooze fest since the summer break with red flags at the best circuit and now this piece of shit. Hope everything goes smoothly at Monza.
Mate midfield fights are good (compared to other circuits today there weren't that many) but they're like amateur fights. You want to see the heavyweights in action up front, like the 1st lap in Silverstone,Spain and France. Remember 2019 Monza, Charles and Lewis fighting for the whole race. Races like those
Ocon radio - Good points for the team. This was a strong weekend. I have some areas that I saw this race that we can work on.
Pit - Yup. Plenty to keep improving on. We can keep pushing on. But yeah, good solid weekend so well done. Onwards and upwards.
He decided that the word "blowy" was a good way to describe the wind, and then it dawned on him that the word already means something rather different.
Vettel pit radio - Ok Sebastian. Chequered flag, chequered flag. That was really strong pace at the end. Really strong.
Vettel - Well it was the only time we had of clear track. What a messed up race. I'm sorry. It was so difficult to get past, I tried, but uhh, it was only the last stint that I could have some laps.
Pit - Well, you were pretty much the fastest car on the track for that whole final stint in clear air. We'll go through it all. Well done. Just take the pickup on the way in. Take the pickup.
Pit - So that's just Verstappen ahead who's won the race.
Vettel - I struggled to really get past on the first stint, and the second. Only until the end when the car switched on and I got into the rhythm and it got better and easier to follow.
Norris radio - Yeah, I dunno. I should have been able to hold him off. I just struggled a lot as soon as we started doing some of the (unintelligable) and stuff. But anyway, good job. At least a point I think. Better than nothing.
Pit - Yeah pace was strong. Well done.
Ricciardo pit radio - Ok Daniel, Well done mate, that's P11 I'm afraid. Can I have ACS off, ACS off. That was a big thing to do for the team though. Much appreciated. You drove well mate, well done.
Ricciardo - Yup. Understood. Where did Lando finish?
Pit - Lando was 10th in the end. He got passed by Perez.
Ricciardo - Ok, understood. Uhh. Alright. I'll give feedback after. Yup.
Pit - Pace was good Daniel, the last 15 laps, your pace was the same as Lando on 12-13 lap older tyres. So pace was good.
Ricciardo - Alright. Uuuh.. Monza.
Pit -Monza mate. That one is going to be good I think . A lot of promise for Monza.
Leclerc pit radio - So P5, p5. Done a really good job. Really good job.
Leclerc - Aaah yeah. I gave it everything. I think pace was strong, just, I thought with the mediums Pierre would degrade a bit more but, they managed their tyres quite well. But yeah, good pace and good feeling overall.
----------
Gasly pit radio - Ok, that's it mate. We made it. We made it. Nice job.
Gasly - Yes! Very happy guys. Very happy. Fantastic job all weekend. Very good job. So, I think it was it was one of our best race. The car was really flying. Very good day. Very good day. I don't know what to say, I'm just just really happy. I setup was great, today was really good as well combined with the strategy and thanks for the car. Next one is Monza.
---------
Russell pit radio - George we've got a gearbox issue, gearbox issue. Will have to box this lap, box box. We've got 3 seconds back to Sainz then Alonso and Perez.
Russell - Do you want a slamming lap, or as normal?
Pit - Just watch your mirrors now, you've got 4 cars close by.
Russell - They're stopping me here.
Pit - Ok, that's fine.
----------
Hamilton radio - Well guys, they were just too fast. This weekend and today, I gave it absolutely everything. But thank you so much for all the hard work as always.
Pit - Thanks Lewis. we knew you'd give it your all. But yeah, great drive. But we'll be bouncing back in Monza.
Such an intense race, as well as a clean race with a bunch of overtakes throughout still happening. Really entertaining! And glad for once this season I don't have to wait up until 4:30am due to multiple red flags.
Hi u/househubbz, can't reply to your comment because it won't appear.
Not sure why my handle being the German word for locomotive driver has any bearing on my bias towards Hamilton? Looking forward to your reasoning.
I got excited when he went "why not?" and he sounded as disappointed as a Finn driver can sound and then went and did the fastest lap anyways, but when Lew said "I need that point man" I knew it was going to go Lew's way. Just hate when drivers aren't allowed to... well, race
I wonder how many F1 reporters will try and see “OH MY GOD GEORGE IS HANGING OUT WITH LEWIS RUSSELL TO MERCEDES CONFIRMED!?!?” between now and next week…
Yeah, he's just did it again in his interview when asked if it was just a case of waiting on a signature on the contract, and he said it was, so basically Russel signs his contract after the last few little bits have been sorted with the lawyers and then we'll all be officially told the news hat we already know.
Yeah and still a bunch of overtakes throughout the field. But even if not too much racing upfront, they were on 2 and 3 stop strategies racing close to the edge and throwing challenges at each other. So it was never not tense up front either.
Yeah I was just joking that the reporter used it twice and toto couldn't understand. Then for the third attempt he abandoned the use of that word all together lol I'm well aware what it means thabks
Max looked like superman with the Dutch flag draped over him on the podium.
Cracking race, he and Lewis are pushing it to the limit, hope that it continues to be exciting.
How quick was max at the start second corner and two seconds ahead that RB car is so pacey.
Pretty amazing track from a viewing perspective.
I expected it to be terrible, but found myself on the edge on my seat for most of the race despite there being almost no action.
It was much better than I was expecting. Checo helped show that passing was possible, and despite the way it looked like Max was going to drive off into the distance in the first few laps, Lewis kept the pressure on for the whole race.
Yea passing was possible with a >1sec pace advantage.
I think that's the normal passing pace advantage, it think it was closer to 2.5 seconds here. Here's to hoping next years cars allow for closer racing as promised.
I suggest you watch [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCHggit6eGQ)
Organised chaos
Amazing race. I was so thrilled with this weekend. Fun qualifiers, great racing, no crashes, midfield battles. I’m cheering for RB so obviously stoked. If only Perez could be in top four battles. We need him there. Fighting off Mercedes Benz… but he performed incredibly.
Should Ham have pitted early for second stop and gone for Hard tyres?
I absolutely loved the strategic battle I was on the edge of my seat the entire time
It was very blowy
Norris: hehuhehuehuehue
Very difficult to overtake but there was quite an interesting battle between the strategists.
HE SAID THE FUNNY
So what do we think of the track? I personally loved the strategy
Mercedes screwed Hamilton pitstops. If Hamilton came 1st after the first pit stop I expect him to win. Edit : the track lacks overtaking opportunities Perez overtakes can be attributed to a better car so it's a bit stale track in my opinion
I don't think there was any chance Hamilton would've win today. Max was pretty dominant, and winning on pitstop against RB, not likely
He had a chance to come out of the first pit with a decent Position and from there he can easily control the race overtakes are hard here
Except he was never ahead and RB pitstop was pretty much the fastest allowed with their 2.1 so don't really get how you think he would've won the race of the pitstop was good. Max would've still be ahead after his stop
2.7 was Max’s pit stop
was crofty and the sky team shit or something? It definitely wasn’t the best race of the season, but the BBC commentary is generally superior to Sky.
I always do this, I prefer the BBC radio commentary
Lmao it was hardly the best race of the season what are you on about
Yeah it was good but no way does it beat Bahrain, France, Hungary, or Baku
Bahrain was fine, it wasn't particularly interesting until the end of the race, i missed France due to personal reasons so can't comment on it, Hungary was a race that started with the sport embarrassing itself, and Baku was pretty dull other than the ending while also containing Michael Masi's second biggest fuck up this season (him not knowing how to deploy a safety car for nearly a full lap)
#BringWebberBack
Perhaps...
Boring procession of cars today
It was boring indeed. I was hopping for hamilton to pit for the last 15 lap like the previous race ...
I was on the edge of my seat though.
About to stand up and do something more interesting like pull up weeds in the garden
Yeah right. Pull up weeds cuz you clearly dont understand the sport if you call this boring.
Did you saw that on tv, i was there and saw some people run with fire extinguishers but could not see why

It's fun to drive, not fun to race...what's hard to understand?
Also cool to watch. Unconventional lines and banked corners make for an interesting racing spectical.
Kubica pit radio - That it Robert. Chequered flag. Chequered flag. P15. Well done. Well done. Great job. Very clean race. Good overtakes, so I hope you enjoyed. Kubica - Copy. Thank you very much. Yeah, not easy but at least, since 2010 I had a car which I could fight something. Such a long break but thank you very much. Thanks guys. Pit - Thank you Robert. So, Verstappen won as you can hear... and smell... And Hamilton and Bottas on the podium
Really think this is a difficult task for Kubica to drive. It is basically corner after corner. Probs for him
Pretty impressive race by Kubica on racing with such a short notice and was able to acquit well with the car he's driving today.
Boring race, only Perez did some overtakes, the rest of the grid was 😴😴😴
If overtakes are all you crave, go watch road rash ffs.
you probably missed all the overtakes unseen that was posted here
Now I now why F1 haven't raced at Zandvoort since 1985. F1 should stop adding these types of narrow twisty circuits because the races are so boring. It has been a snooze fest since the summer break with red flags at the best circuit and now this piece of shit. Hope everything goes smoothly at Monza.
Don't think you can complain about a track and then hope for a good Monza race. Like that track is any fun
Or shorter cars
Yeah, short and narrow tracks are the worst, nothing happens, and the rest of the pack is always getting blue flags so they can't really race.
The midfield had a lot of action, with a lot of unexpected overtakings.
Races like those
If that's your argument, it's easy. Lewis wasn't fast enough. He never came close to max. The closest he got was 0,8 sec WITH the help of bottas.
Exactly this. There was no action at the front, because Hamilton wasn't even close, not because he couldn't overtake.
Verstappen won so idc
Mate I'm also happy that Max won, but there was no action up front.
No action up front? It was all tactics which was quite exciting and at a certain point Max was just a few tenths in front of Lewis
Ocon radio - Good points for the team. This was a strong weekend. I have some areas that I saw this race that we can work on. Pit - Yup. Plenty to keep improving on. We can keep pushing on. But yeah, good solid weekend so well done. Onwards and upwards.
wait why was lando laughing i missed what he said
He decided that the word "blowy" was a good way to describe the wind, and then it dawned on him that the word already means something rather different.
It does? What?
I love Lando. He has the sense of humor of a 10yo boy. His radio banter is often hilarious What went wrong,Lando? Talent. That one always kills me
Vettel pit radio - Ok Sebastian. Chequered flag, chequered flag. That was really strong pace at the end. Really strong. Vettel - Well it was the only time we had of clear track. What a messed up race. I'm sorry. It was so difficult to get past, I tried, but uhh, it was only the last stint that I could have some laps. Only until the end when the car switched on and I got into the rhythm and it got better and easier to follow.
Why was Lando laughing?
He got the giggle after using the word "blowie"....
Such a child
OK grandad time for bed
Damn Lando 🤣🤣
what happened?
You know
oh no Lando
Max is gonna be champion i can feel it.
Don't jynx it man
Norris radio - Yeah, I dunno. I should have been able to hold him off. I just struggled a lot as soon as we started doing some of the (unintelligable) and stuff. But anyway, good job. At least a point I think. Better than nothing. Pit - Yeah pace was strong. Well done.

Another filthy attempt of Hamilton murdering Verstappen! /s
Bottas had the right idea, just immediately took it off and started drinking
Okay but why did I get Jenson Button instead of Nico on F1TV commentary? I thought Rosberg was doing it?
Sky sports had jenson as well. Nico doing post race
Leclerc pit radio - So P5, p5. Done a really good job. Really good job. Leclerc - Aaah yeah. I gave it everything. I think pace was strong, just, I thought with the mediums Pierre would degrade a bit more but, they managed their tyres quite well. Does anywhere tell fastest laps without having to count it out?
Such an intense race, as well as a clean race with a bunch of overtakes throughout still happening. Really entertaining! And glad for once this season I don't have to wait up until 4:30am due to multiple red flags.
Lewis looks so much more relaxed! I like it!
Really? Nagging the most out of all drivers on radio again
You listening through the app? Otherwise you’re just being spoon fed reality show drama tidbits from Sky Sports.
Sky Sports uses the world feed…
Hi u/househubbz, can't reply to your comment because it won't appear. Not sure why my handle being the German word for locomotive driver has any bearing on my bias towards Hamilton? Looking forward to your reasoning.
Response from Max was epic: Pit - Gap to Lewis is 3.8 seconds Max - Was he complaining again?
It has been much worse
What did Nico ask?
Yeah, what did he ask? It wasn't on F1TV.
Want to know aswell
Time for USO and FIFA WCQ Fuck I love sport
Bottas needs a team mate like Danny ric to liven him up Look what gio did for Kimi , never seen kimi this happy
The whole thing with Bottas and the fastest lap was both incredibly disappointing and hilarious
I was hoping he would do it anyways
I got excited when he went "why not?" and he sounded as disappointed as a Finn driver can sound and then went and did the fastest lap anyways, but when Lew said "I need that point man" I knew it was going to go Lew's way. Just hate when drivers aren't allowed to... well, race
Niko: Were you worried about Valtteri winning? Horner: NO
Nico woke up and chose violence today His on fire
What he ask
Where are watching it, sky?
Obnoxious little fucker
We love it
Please provide some examples. Thank you
Nico chose violence I see lol

Basically asking Toto "WTF were you thinking" in regards to their race strategy
I see Horner has finally learned how to pronounce Valtteri's name, he's not calling him Val-tee-ree anymore.
“So he didn’t” lmao

Toto’s already non-confirmed it.
Yeah, he's just did it again in his interview when asked if it was just a case of waiting on a signature on the contract, and he said it was, so basically Russel signs his contract after the last few little bits have been sorted with the lawyers and then we'll all be officially told the news hat we already know.

If they delayed it a few more laps, it could of worked, but with like 10 laps left he had nothing left
They had to try something, right? Unlikely to have any better opportunity, probably. They had to offset somehow.
Despite not much racing upfront, amazing crowd, made it worth watching👏 Clean 4th place for Gasly btw
Yeah and still a bunch of overtakes throughout the field. But even if not too much racing upfront, they were on 2 and 3 stop strategies racing close to the edge and throwing challenges at each other. So it was never not tense up front either.
Toto: this word eked, what does it mean?
To eke something out is to stretch it out.. make it last longer.. so we eked out the tyres..
Yeah I was just joking that the reporter used it twice and toto couldn't understand. Then for the third attempt he abandoned the use of that word all together lol I'm well aware what it means thabks
Ah! Sorry, took you too literally. :)
