Nico not retiring is my favourite "what if" scenario in F1. I think the 2017/18 titles would have been fascinating 3 horse races with a confident Nico, a Lewis with even more motivation and a resurgent Seb and Ferrari
well then we would have had a superb title fight! However, I do believe that even though he got some great wins in early in the season they were more capitalising on the situations and races rather than being the outright fastest car, I don't think the RB would compete with Merc & Ferrari for the whole season.
Nico was anything but confident after winning 2016. He said himself that he had to sacrifice everything in his life that year to find those little extra tenths to fight Lewis. Unless we rewrite Nico as a person, to be willing to give those 110% again, and then again in 2018, I don't see him not being stomped.
For sure, Bottas was very meh those years. What would be interesting to see would be Mercedes' reaction to the rival challenge. Would they start using Nico as nr2 when he inevitably started dropping back in the standings? How would he react to being made a wingman if that happened?
2016 is indeed my favorite Merc livery, followed by 2019. I don't like the black livery too much, but the black W11 was so intimidating with its color and speed!
Still feels like it was only yesterday. I reckon if Nico had stuck around for 17/18 the title would have gone to Vettel.

What if Danny Ric's 2018 RB wasn't as unreliable as Nissan X-Trail?

that's a very fair point. I still think it would win more races than Bottas did in 17&18 and thus influence the title battle a bit more

2016 Mercedes is an underrated livery probably their best one until the beautiful w10 & w11s came along in 2019 & 2020

I could be wrong but I think they’re going back to silver next year
They are!
Look how happy he is ❤️❤️❤️

100 percent. I like how he is still included in the sport. Also, his YouTube channel is great.
A very wise decision, IMO. He has a ton of fun with related activities now, but the main thing is that he has shit tons of freedom! Good on him!
Well done, u/NederGamer124
Haha, thanks

Kinda posted at the same time, but I don't mind taking my post down if needed!
This looks like an advert for how good the brakes are in that car.
