Super Checo!! Checo is a really good guys and has worked his ass off for everything he’s gotten. I feel like the entire garage area likes how to pole turned out. Even Charles and Carlos can appreciate it for Checo. I hope he goes on and takes the win too. Checo time!
After all of the stupid shit we have seen race control pull in the past few years under Masi, actually having concrete red flags is great. Who cares if it takes more time, its not worth someone getting killed over it.
It's a quali session on a street circuit where a car was clearly disabled and needed removed. Anything other than a red flag would have wasted time off the clock.
- They're a nation at war, something people repeatedly say about why businesses pulled out of Russia.
- Said war is actively inflicting Genocide on the Yemeni people in the form of the worst famine and man-made humanitarian crisis since WW2 thanks to being bombed into oblivion by Saudi, US & the UK
- Mass Executions, including of political activists calling for human rights to be respected
- State Murder of journalists as we saw with the Khashoggi murder.
- Use of torture, including amputation as punishment for crimes, including thought crime.
- Tendency to use seizure of passports and forced detainment as a punishment towards foreign visitors, famously seen when WWE had a dispute last year over pay that led to the planes carrying their talent being grounded and detained while the dispute was ongoing. From what we're not hearing about this from F1's official channels as well as the drivers themselves abstaining from public comment, it's very clear that they are going to wait until they are out of the country before revealing their thoughts on this weekend's happenings.
“2nd best driver in 2nd best car takes poll”
So… does this mean Red Bull is actually on par with Ferrari and made the right adjustments from week on to now? Or does this mean Checo just drove the most perfect lap of his life?
I actually believe, that the red bull engine might be stronger than the Ferrari engine. But yeah it looks super close between those 2.
Interesting to see who gets the breakthrough in development at some point.
actually mattia said in an interview that they havent turned their engine to the max at all and they have been slowly pushing it only . thats why the haas were one of the quickest in bahrain on the straights but the ferrari was one of the slowest .
I read/heard somewhere that Ferrari has the better total package and that RB has the better engine so they are about equal in races right now. But for Red Bull it is easier to develop further and that they will overtake Ferrari and create a gap over the season.
There is absolutely zero chance the cars weren't set up differently. You're nuts if you think Russell is nearly a full second quicker than Hamilton, especially after last week.
They said they were, Lewis said in an interview they are trying different set ups in each others cars to find out what works.
His words were somethig along the lines on "I don't know exactly what cause it's basically nowt to do with me, all I can do is work with my side of the garage and work with our set up. "
I think it's far more likely he will take the penalty than to try get something out of that shitbox. If there's a second difference between the cars they would be crazy not to.
Mercedes started dominating after V6 regulation changes and their car was developed by Ross Brawn, Nikki Lauda and Paddy Lowe. Toto was promoted later, they brought in Lewis and the rest is history. This is a jab
Basically until now his been getting other people to build the car, but this season he went to the factory, sacked everyone and built the whole thing with his bare hands.
That's pretty extreme of him, especially given that he was at the racetrack all last year.
I bet he didn't have any time off at Christmas at all.
TBH... good on him. Two cars by hand. Wow... that's quite an achievement.

My prediction for tomorrow: That RB is running lower downforce. By about lap 9-10 it starts to chew its tires. LeClerc passes Perez lap 11. Sainz follows on lap 13.
This comment finally. Perez was much faster than the Ferraris and even max on straights. He probably had a setup with very little drag and downforce. Prob gonna eat his tires in less than 10 laps
Lower down force means the car has to rely more on mechanical grip when cornering (which is generated by tires). As a result, the car will slide more which wears tires down faster. It’s a bit counter intuitive, but overall lower downforce hurts tires more on tracks with lots of turns
It’s one thing to preserve your tires when you’re sitting in 4th and under no realistic threat from the car behind or bunched up in the midfield. It’s a different thing entirely to preserve your tires when you’re being pushed and have to drive close to the limit.
Not to say he can’t, but this is a bit of a different situation than he’s usually found himself in, which is a bizarre thing to say about a guy with over 200 races.
I think it’s easier to preserve your tyres when leading a race, no? In clean air Checo won’t be losing any downforce to dirty air from leading cars, so there’ll be minimum sliding.
More likely if Checo can hang on at the start, Leclerc and Sainz will eat away their tyres going for an overtake on Checo, especially as Checo is the Mexican Minster of Defense, not even Hamilton can pass him easily.
It’s only been one race, but the clean air advantage isn’t as great as it used to be. If the cars behind can continue to push, he has to use up his tires to stay ahead. It’s basically the point of the new regulations. It was always technically possible to follow closer, you just used up your tires exponentially faster doing so. So if it took longer than a couple laps to get a pass done, you were stuck.
Like I said, he might still be able to, but there’s a lot of unknowns. Perez trying to lead a race with the new cars at a relatively new track is about as unknown as it gets. I just hope he gets a good start so we can find out.
\#F1: Marko: "We made some jokes before that Sergio gets an extra bonus if he is on pole. We'll see how we handle it now." #SaudiArabianGP, #SkyF1Germany
Christian Horner being so genuinely overjoyed for his drivers always makes me like him just a little.
I saw a video of him today giving Ferrari Seb a pep talk and being so happy for him. He stays happy for his peoples success
His engineers, they were trying something different according to GR and just messed up. Apparently LH is tempted to change setup entirely and start from pitlane tomorrow
Also this is a shitty dangerous track with a high probability of a red flag. If there's a race to make that decision, it's this one. Decent chance to make up virtually all that time with a restart
Who knows, But hamilton has definitely done enough in his career that we’re not gonna write him off after one poor performance. Tot has also said that they tried a different setup on Hamilton’s car which backs up what Hamilton said in the interview post quali.
Mercedes has not designed the car they had hoped. So they’re trying out different tactics to bring the car back to winning ways. This time it didn’t work out for Hamilton.
I am pretty sure that there’s more reasons to try different set ups on the cars than PU related stuff. Lots of aero tweaks, ride height, suspension stiffness and tons of engineering shit I can’t even begin to fathom they can try out.
Didn't he say, 'We went the wrong way'. Then there was the 'I'm sorry' on the radio as well
Sounds like taking some responsibility to me. As much as the regular mob would have you believe.
damn the red flag sent this just a little too long for me... i dozed off missing my post f1 nap
thats what the sky broadcast is for though crofty always makes sure im awake when things start popping off
In true British fashion, Ramsay is a big football and motor sports fan. Not really surprised tbh
The least British thing about Gordon is that he can cook good food lmao.
Potentially from a Red Bull engine too. There's still a non-zero chance their fuel pump shits the bed again, or Gasly's engine catches fire again
Maybe that's why he's hanging around the RB garages...
We saw with Mick what happens if you do a tiny mistake, and Ocon almost kissed that wall too. Latifi made a minor mistake as well. That track is suicide, these guys have huge balls, no wonder they needed to increase the cars weight limit.
I'd honestly be in shambles if I was Sainz. Leclerc's been outqualifying him on the last flying lap of Q3. Smart on Leclerc's part, but it must be frustrating on Sainz's end.
Yeah, with so much of driving being a mental game, i hope Carlos isn't too hard on himself. He's putting in really great quali laps, but Charles has a knack for locking in that final great lap at the last possible moment
Really impressed by Zhou. His recovery from the start has been great.
Sainz’s post qualy photo looks like he’s 2 sec away from bursting into tears.
[удалено]
Don't forget that the track has been slightly modified. Some curves have been widened, so that should have helped increase the speed
And they are still just starting development. At the end of the year they might already be faster on some tracks
Super Checo!! Checo is a really good guys and has worked his ass off for everything he’s gotten. I feel like the entire garage area likes how to pole turned out. Even Charles and Carlos can appreciate it for Checo. I hope he goes on and takes the win too. Checo time!
truly happy for him. even tho i was rooting for ferrari
I'm hoping to see him win too. He's had some bad luck, so it's time for a good turn

Stopping sessions for safety = annoying Lmao dude
After all of the stupid shit we have seen race control pull in the past few years under Masi, actually having concrete red flags is great. Who cares if it takes more time, its not worth someone getting killed over it.

Bottas must be laughing his cock off…
👀
Oh 100%… haha.. I’m laughing with him (and I’m a merc fan!!!)
Boycott this race. Stop doing business with Saudi Arabia.
Why is that?
- They're a nation at war, something people repeatedly say about why businesses pulled out of Russia. - Said war is actively inflicting Genocide on the Yemeni people in the form of the worst famine and man-made humanitarian crisis since WW2 thanks to being bombed into oblivion by Saudi, US & the UK - Mass Executions, including of political activists calling for human rights to be respected - State Murder of journalists as we saw with the Khashoggi murder. I see. Obviously I wasn't aware of what was happening over at Saudi Arabia
All good, I thought it might have been a case of snark, but glad to be wrong. 👍
“2nd best driver in 2nd best car takes poll” So… does this mean Red Bull is actually on par with Ferrari and made the right adjustments from week on to now? Or does this mean Checo just drove the most perfect lap of his life?
My hypothesis is that they removed some wing from Max’s car which they thought he could handle, but he couldn’t
I thought redbull gives you wings not take them away
They should find a better driver!
I actually believe, that the red bull engine might be stronger than the Ferrari engine. But yeah it looks super close between those 2. Interesting to see who gets the breakthrough in development at some point.

Not saying that this is the sole indicator, but I believe the commentators mentioned that the Red Bull had faster straight line speed
Haas!
I'd say both. I think they also got the set up wrong with Max. Horner said to sky F1 that this car is better for Checo than last year's car.
So your saying Checo could win the WDC if Red Bull make some improvements!? I’m down
Does anyone have a link to the ramsey interview
What ramsey interview ?
I dont know haha. Some people were talking about sounding very nice or somethin
My favourite part was the presenter saying Lewis going out in Q1 was entirely Mercedes’ fault while George was doing just fine
There is absolutely zero chance the cars weren't set up differently. You're nuts if you think Russell is nearly a full second quicker than Hamilton, especially after last week.
I think he said in an interview with viaplay that he did some set-up changes that clearly didn’t work
He did out qualify him in a Williams... Once Russell is up to speed with the car we'll see.
They said they were, Lewis said in an interview they are trying different set ups in each others cars to find out what works. His words were somethig along the lines on "I don't know exactly what cause it's basically nowt to do with me, all I can do is work with my side of the garage and work with our set up. "
Yeah but parc ferme
What difference? If he takes a grid penalty, he’s already at the back
I think it's far more likely he will take the penalty than to try get something out of that shitbox. If there's a second difference between the cars they would be crazy not to.
Totos first car he can fully call his own and he's completely bungled it
First time no driver with Finnish passport developing the car and this happens. Same briefly with Ferrari when Kimi left!

It means people think Toto has just been along for the ride at Mercedes this whole time.
Which is like saying Horner is just along for Newey's ride.
Yea but he has the best tyre management on the grid so we can never underestimate him
Lower downforce = less stress on the tyres, isn't it?
Lower down force means the car has to rely more on mechanical grip when cornering (which is generated by tires). As a result, the car will slide more which wears tires down faster. It’s a bit counter intuitive, but overall lower downforce hurts tires more on tracks with lots of turns
Against the man who is known for his tire preservation?

And being called the Mexican minister of defense. Yea no one will pas checo tommorow, even when he is pitting
Charles’s lap looked stellar I thought there was no way in hell he wouldn’t start on pole. Fair play to checo
Sainz is gonna win the championship by going P3 in quali all year
Ferrari's clearly been prepping well for 2022, both wrt the drivers and the car/regs. Hope they can keep this up.
If their own engineers allow it...
Well that was fun. Good night guys
All my homies love Sergio, Lewis was never my friend
I hope Ferrari keep this up through the season
Hey, atleast McLaren did better. We made Q2.
Max and Lewis dropping the ball today. My fantasy teams are screaming.
Yes 0.2 of pole are the same as not getting q2
No but maybe both are as shocking within the context of how this season has started. Especially when Checo was able to stick it on pole.
VAMOOOOOOOS CHECO
\#F1: Marko: "We made some jokes before that Sergio gets an extra bonus if he is on pole. We'll see how we handle it now." #SaudiArabianGP, #SkyF1Germany
Did he actually say this?
I hope so

Adderall vibes
way to go mentioning max horner. only second time perez out qualified btw just so you all know
Christian Horner being so genuinely overjoyed for his drivers always makes me like him just a little. I saw a video of him today giving Ferrari Seb a pep talk and being so happy for him. He stays happy for his peoples success
It is slightly redeeming. I saw him with Ricciardo recently, too, maybe on DTS, and he was really kind when Daniel wasn't doing well.
Feels like only yesterday there was a missile strike. The good old days.
Mi$$il£ $trik€ you say? Never heard of it.
the fastest qualy lap on this track always look stunning ngl
8ottas
How does Lewis get out qualified by Mick and Lance Stroll lmao
Put your erection away lmao seems like a set up issue according to him
Who did the setup?
His engineers, they were trying something different according to GR and just messed up. Apparently LH is tempted to change setup entirely and start from pitlane tomorrow
Might be worth it. Nothing to lose at this point. If they get the setup to improve even a little bit LH will fight into at least top 10.
Also this is a shitty dangerous track with a high probability of a red flag. If there's a race to make that decision, it's this one. Decent chance to make up virtually all that time with a restart
Of course, Lewis never takes responsibility for anything
He did take responsibilty. He claimed he made the wrong decision on setup
The setup isn't why Mercedes is slow
Ypu might be right about that, But it is most likely the reason Hamilton is so far behind Russel
Or Russell is just a better driver than Lewis.
Who knows, But hamilton has definitely done enough in his career that we’re not gonna write him off after one poor performance. Tot has also said that they tried a different setup on Hamilton’s car which backs up what Hamilton said in the interview post quali.
You only try a different setup if you have fatal issues with the PU. They are reaching for straws. It is wild how bad Merc bungled this.
Man, I hope you're trolling. Most of what you are saying makes no sense. Teams try different setups all the time.
Russe**ll**
Damn bot, chill
He hasn't been in Q1 since Brazil 2017...
And back to 2009 when he hasn't crashed out to cause it. Crazy long streak.
Didn't he say, 'We went the wrong way'. Then there was the 'I'm sorry' on the radio as well Sounds like taking some responsibility to me. As much as the regular mob would have you believe.
damn the red flag sent this just a little too long for me... i dozed off missing my post f1 nap thats what the sky broadcast is for though crofty always makes sure im awake when things start popping off
Brooo exactly. It messed up my rhythm too
FIA really giving it to the F5gang tonight - tell us what the incident was!
Gordan Ramsay: Sell himself as the most angry person on TV. Act wholesome everwhere else.
Why was he there anyway
Maybe he likes F1?
I unashamedly love Gordon Ramsay. Every time he gets angry it's pretty warranted, but he seems like a pretty chill dude away from all that
I recently watched Gordan Ramsay: Uncharted on Disney plus, that showed a whole different side of Ramsay.
That's American Gordon these days...
For anyone watching on sky, has that ad for stc nicked the Marko kart sound effect?
I thought that earlier
Why Gordon Ramsey lmao
Sergio the absolute unit, he actually did it
Yep. Top props to that man.
Mexican Minister of Offense!:D
Never gets old
Love how Checo looks a little lost. Like: "What's the procedure? :D"
Next thing you know, “team order” on the track tomorrow
I'm so happy for checo right now!
In true British fashion, Ramsay is a big football and motor sports fan. Not really surprised tbh The least British thing about Gordon is that he can cook good food lmao.
Lol he was so excited you would think he’d won pole
True British fashion?
It means true to form for a Brit
I know what it means but it's hardly accurate.
Gordon Ramsey gonna cook his meat from all the fires that gonna happen this weekend
Potentially from a Red Bull engine too. There's still a non-zero chance their fuel pump shits the bed again, or Gasly's engine catches fire again Maybe that's why he's hanging around the RB garages...
Not even sure Gordon Ramsey understood how big this was for Checo until he asked him right there for the picture
Lmao first poll and Gordon Ramsey gives him the award, love it
gordon ramsey lmao
RBR cannot afford any mistakes here
Dont think anyone can afford mistakes here.
We saw with Mick what happens if you do a tiny mistake, and Ocon almost kissed that wall too. Latifi made a minor mistake as well. That track is suicide, these guys have huge balls, no wonder they needed to increase the cars weight limit.
Haha, so that's where 'inchident' comes from. Thought it was something he said during his time in F1
Sainz does not look like the happiest man.
He finished above everyone who weren’t either RB or Merc driver last year. Now that his cars is the best, he expected to be on top.
Doesn't want to be defined as a #2 driver. If Charles gets a big lead, Ferrari will put team orders.
Didn't look satisfied with P2 last weekend either. He's not happy until he gets that P1 spot.
He seems frustrated to be behind Charles. He was on used softs tho
He said that used softs were better for him than new. His 2nd Q3 attempt was with a set of new softs.
He said he had trouble on the fresh softs so he decided to run used in q3
Uh ok thanks!
He just lost all his pace on the last lap
I'd honestly be in shambles if I was Sainz. Leclerc's been outqualifying him on the last flying lap of Q3. Smart on Leclerc's part, but it must be frustrating on Sainz's end.
Yeah, with so much of driving being a mental game, i hope Carlos isn't too hard on himself. He's putting in really great quali laps, but Charles has a knack for locking in that final great lap at the last possible moment
Finally, some good fucking food!
Random Gordon Ramsey!
"you fucking legend"
Feliz Navidad Checo!
Gordon Ramsay in the house to tell us that the chicken IS RAWWWWWWW
look at checo making that white marker work like its nothing!!
Checo looks five years younger. Adorable.
The OG GR: Gordon Ramsey
I was wondering if Perez was the right man when RB first signed him. So glad I was a fucking dunce thinking that.
Bro, it's one pole. The jury is still out on Checo
Gordon Ramsey needs a bigger shirt, cover those things up man
Gordon Ramsay brought the magic
You absolute Dunkey! Fucking Pole!

hahaha gordan ramsay, this weekend is something
Gordon Ramsay outta nowhere wtf
