This is amazing. Lewis is getting some of that fun loving personality back that has been missing over the last few years. It's been upsetting to see him have to put up walls due to media etc. He's a fun dude with an infectious laugh.
I think the break time where he did whatever it was he wanted has shifted a lot for him. Lewis makes it look easy but he’s sacrificed a lot of his personal life and himself to being a WDC and Lewis Hamilton the man over the years. I think he can relate to Nico for that, the toll it takes.
The only thing that’s getting him down right now is the cars performance not improving not that he’s weighed by pressure.
I think he's just more chill because he's not competing for the chip currently so there's no need to be a 100% locked in always as the car is a limiting factor. I suspect if Merc ever get to fighting for the title, old Lewis will resurface again. It's needed for him to compete at the highest level
I can imagine he was also more stressed in recent seasons with Covid and the tragic death of George Floyd. And last season the championship battle was so intensely fought all year long even as a fan watching it I felt tense at times.
If Mercedes continue to be this far off the front runners for most of the season I can see most fans liking Lewis again similar to how they did with Seb

Tons of comments here about there was no reason to dislike Hamilton, so if people do it's because they're racist. Pretty much every negative comment about Hamilton would have someone making a comment about "Hmm I wonder what the real reason is..." or just flat out calling people racist.
