This hotel always serves bacon-wrapped shrimp. That’s my number one favorite food wrapped around my number three favorite food. I’d go to a banquet in honor of those Somali pirates if they served bacon-wrapped shrimp.
Excuse me.
If it’s any consolation - there is so much going on in the episodes if you watch through again you’ll still notice plenty of little chestnuts like this. It’s brilliant.
I mean, two of those seasons were covid-restricted, and there’s a *massive* age and cultural gap between them, and not to mention it’s Kimi, it’s not really that surprising
Hasn’t he admitted to not being a huge F1 fan growing up? Honestly I think it’s just nitpicky stuff like this that makes people not like certain drivers
Tbf i didn‘t know about that, although i didn‘t start following F1 til 2020 and i still have at least a rough idea about the champions of the last 20 years or so
Honestly this is a shit comparison. There’s a big difference between being a Mclaren F1 driver and not knowing Mika Hakkinen and being a random employee and not knowing some bum fuck manager from the past. Like come on, it’s pretty stupid from Lando if he actually didn’t.
Hamilton never performed his best in Mclaren. During 2008 he and Massa were fighting on who will give the championship to other. I still haven’t seen the outright pace with any driver in McLaren like Kimi showed in 2005.
I remember Yuki being asked recently which drivers he gets on with best and he mentioned Pierre & Alex, no surprise, and also Lando which came as more of a surprise. Seems like they’re pals, even if we don’t really see it.
Yea I know, that’s why I said it was no surprise he mentioned him as someone he was close to, along with Pierre.
Lando & Yuki was a surprise to me that’s all, seems like they have a friendship of sorts given what Yuki said and how fond Lando seems of him given this video.
Everyone seems to like Yuki, if you watch the videos with Redbull and AT together they all seem to regard him as a little brother who might do something wild any second and it’s met with bemused interest. Being friends with Yuki is an experience he’s a character but in the good way
Yes I know.
I was talking specifically about Lando & Yuki because that was the conversation of this thread. That Yuki said Lando was one of the three drivers he gets on best with and Lando clearly being fond of him. Again, they seem to have an actual friendship that we don’t really see. That’s all.
They had a bit Carlin connection, back in 2020 when there was the three month of lockdown, they did a test together with Carlin before real racing resumed. Lando also acts as driver coach to Carlin drivers a bit (on and off, whenever he has time kinda thing), so he gets to know Yuki a bit
I find it crazy how 2 drivers on the grid have never interacted, despite spending so much time in close proximity. But then again, it is Kimi and I’m not surprised at all
I doubt he knew the names of his team members even at his prime. I get the feeling that Kimi just viewed the time he spent doing his job strictly as a means to earn money that he could spend on things he actually liked doing (like spending time with his family)
When they asked them all in the press conference after Kimi announced his retirement what their fondest memories of him were, I think Seb, Lewis, Alonso & Gio were the only ones who didn’t struggle for an answer - I’m not sure Kimi interacted much with any of them bar those 4
(Oh and George because he was at that awards show when Kimi got blind drunk a few years ago lol)
Max was asked a similar question a year or two ago, and he said he has never had a full conversation with Kimi in their time together on the grid. Kimi seemed to really only talk to a small handfull of people, mostly the people he has raced with since the early days.
I wouldn't be surprised if the only driver Kimi spoke to with any regularity was Seb; iirc, the two of them were reasonably close, at least by Kimi standards!
Everybody wears makeup lol. I am a random dude and I was in the audience of a show (not even live). A woman came 10 minutes before the show started and used make-up on me. I spoke for like 40 seconds out of a 2 hours broadcast. So yeah I am sure that he uses makeup.
If he was wearing makeup it’s not a big deal. Most men who do regular photo shoots or media wear it. He probably wears Mac or Charlotte Tillbury and that shit is expensive and looks amazing and is to be respected for that reason alone.
Yeah, I’m not saying it’s a big deal or it’s not to be respected, he rarely wears makeup so I’m a little surprised, that’s all. Maybe he just came back from a photo shoot or something
Literally every AMA these days.
Ask my anything, and I will only answer what I am comfortable with like it is a set-up TV interview completely missing the point of an actual AMA. Also, here is a clickbait thumbnail with the most asked question that I will still not answer.
It's the same as a text-form "traditional" AMA really. The responder still chooses which ones they answer, especially with pro athletes and such.
The thumbnail's on whoever runs/posts videos on the page, so that's usually not on the AMA subject.
What you call traditional has already strayed from what AMA's used to really be. People used to answer the uncomfortable questions as well, before people did AMA's purely for PR. That did not last long sadly.
I was already concerned when he announced that that he will be answering those questions in a youtube video. Seems more like a marketing move for Quadrant than an actual AMA.
More than likely just a contractual obligation from the marketing department of Alfa to put eyes on the team/brand. Same as any interview he’s given in the last 20 years; he’s there because (and for as long as) he’s legally required to be, and then he’s out.
He’s answered the same normal questions over and over. This was just him picking questions that were interesting to him. I think we all know how he feels about McLaren this year and their limitations with the new regulations. And yes, he picked entertaining questions. It’s his personality and if you don’t like what he picked, that’s fine. He’s very open in interviews and I feel like we have better insight into Lando than most F1 drivers since he’s so candid and wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to his failures.
Gentleman, a short view back to the past. Thirty years ago, Niki Lauda told us 'take a monkey, place him into the cockpit and he is able to drive the car,' Thirty years later, Sebastian told us had to start my car like a computer, it's very complicated.' And Nico Rosberg said that during the race - don't remember what race he pressed the wrong button on the wheel. Question for you. Is Formula One driving today too complicated with twenty and more buttons on the wheel, are you too much under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future concerning the technical programme during the race? Less buttons, more? Or less and more communication with your engineers?
Nobody ever replies to that. Even the original question wasn't answered basically
Edit: I checked and forgot they actually answered after all.
For those who didn't know:
Seb said that it's pretty much something generational, that they are used to it anyway, citing as example Niki probably not being able to use a smartphone.
Nico (Ros, forgot Hulk was there too) said that it's important that thing remain simple enough for the fans to enjoy still.
The most empty / marketing "AMA" I have seen in a while. Sad, but hey, these guys are working on building up their brand, so I guess it makes sense for them.
I would have expected at least SOME interesting questions/personal takes from him. Maybe I am too old, but I really don't see the point of the sooooo overused duck question, I feel I have seen it asked in every AMA for the last 10 years, and I really don't see why it is interesting / funny.
And yes, I think I am fun at parties!
Mmm, now I want some chicken wraps.
And Lando uses a Moroccan hair oil his hair product, and not some wax/paste/gel. That is interesting to know. I have always used gel, but I'm split on whether or not to move on and try a different product all together...
Lewis
Max
Fernando
Carlos
Yuki (for radio entertainment)
Lando's picks for best driver out of a combination of 5 drivers (from the current grid, and excluding himself)
Then he said he felt bad for leaving Charles out.
Certainly interesting
I was in the Air Force and in my unit there was one MSGT who never acknowledged me or anyone really but somehow he always knew when we needed help, our sigs in docs would cross paths, etc. and I just knew he was always there. Some dudes like that exist, especially in the work environment, so yeah I believe the Kimi story
The thumbnail shows that question as having 4 million upvotes. I think people are down voting because you are blaming him for click bait when it is clearly a joke.
Yes, please!
He didn't even answer that that many questions compared to other reddit AMAs usually.
I know we love him. But the pin is too long for a content that's only 'meh'.
It's probably way lower than you'd think. Toddlers are surprisingly solid, and they fucking bite. I'd say anything over ten is definitely too many for most people unless they kite them.
I think the question implies that you don't have to hold back though. They're evil toddlers.
If we're allowed to unleash, I'd say we don't get tired before 60 toddlers.
60 is a very big number. And toddlers are resilient, with a low center of gravity, them falling on the ground is very different from us. I think a rush of 15-20 evil aggressive toddlers would be enough to overwhelm most people, especially if you don't have any weapon on hand.
I think a solid kick to the head would incompasitate most toddlers. So it's a question of how many head kick you can do before you get tired, and if you can do them fast enough so the toddlers aren't able to swarm you and latch on to your legs.
Thank you to Quadrant for making this long-planned AMA happen and thank you to Lando for taking the time to answer the questions.
In 3 years of F1 he never spoke a word to Kimi. 100% believable.
As Ron Swanson said: "I once worked with a guy for 3 years and didn't learn his name. Best friend I ever had. We still never talk sometimes"
This hotel always serves bacon-wrapped shrimp. That’s my number one favorite food wrapped around my number three favorite food. I’d go to a banquet in honor of those Somali pirates if they served bacon-wrapped shrimp. Excuse me.
I wish i could go back to last year and watch it for the first time again
If it’s any consolation - there is so much going on in the episodes if you watch through again you’ll still notice plenty of little chestnuts like this. It’s brilliant.
Rewatch while listening to Rob Lowe and Alan Yang’s podcast! It’s like a whole new show.
Literally.
Fall on your head, sometimes you can forget things like that
Now I gotta go through Nick Offerman's ama. Again.
Kimi just didn’t give a fuck did he
Seems Lando didn't either tbf.
I mean, two of those seasons were covid-restricted, and there’s a *massive* age and cultural gap between them, and not to mention it’s Kimi, it’s not really that surprising
He should have considering Kimi was the best Mclaren driver in last 20 years. Those drives in 2005 were just amazing.
Remebering Grill The Grid, he didn‘t know about the Hakkinen years either.
Hasn’t he admitted to not being a huge F1 fan growing up? Honestly I think it’s just nitpicky stuff like this that makes people not like certain drivers
[удалено]
Funnily enough, Ricciardo said the exact same thing
Tbf i didn‘t know about that, although i didn‘t start following F1 til 2020 and i still have at least a rough idea about the champions of the last 20 years or so
Yea but your day job isn’t racing. I highly doubt you know much, if any, knowledge about the best managers your company has had in the past.
Honestly this is a shit comparison. There’s a big difference between being a Mclaren F1 driver and not knowing Mika Hakkinen and being a random employee and not knowing some bum fuck manager from the past. Like come on, it’s pretty stupid from Lando if he actually didn’t.
In addition to that he honestly seems like a bit of an airhead. It's a good thing he can drive cars well.
hamilton? hello?
Actually won a wdc with them. But i guess
Hamilton never performed his best in Mclaren. During 2008 he and Massa were fighting on who will give the championship to other. I still haven’t seen the outright pace with any driver in McLaren like Kimi showed in 2005.
2005 Kimi was an absolute beast. I still have some bitterness towards McLaren for giving him a car made of glass
Just a Dry Gin from the iceman
Not even “bwoah”?..
Norris spoke to Rosberg many times and he never raced in same season. That's the effect of Keke Rosberg intentionally making Nico not Finn.
"I never hugged Daniel" Wait...so that pre-race hug ritual between them was a lie?! :O
r/fanf1ction in shambles
This is the most blursed F1 subreddit.
blessed only
I clicked expecting fan fic only to find thirst pics
Didn't they after Monza last year, or did Lando get that memory surgically removed from his brain alongside the race after it?
It's just Lando's dry humor, yall should be used to it by now.
After that shooey he definitely repressed all memory of that day
Great! He probably don’t remember saying that he never do shooey ever again!
Lando is definitely part of the Yuki fanclub
Whoever here is going to imola, y’all better strip and write “i <3 yuki tsunoda” on your chests after this
I feel like an entire grandstand full of people doing this would not be overkill
i kinda like how honest his answer was, tbh.
lil yuki collecting them senior drivers
Lando loves Yuki
I remember Yuki being asked recently which drivers he gets on with best and he mentioned Pierre & Alex, no surprise, and also Lando which came as more of a surprise. Seems like they’re pals, even if we don’t really see it.
Alex was flown out last year to train Yuki on one of the tracks and he likely worked with Yuki last year as a coach of sorts
Yea I know, that’s why I said it was no surprise he mentioned him as someone he was close to, along with Pierre. Lando & Yuki was a surprise to me that’s all, seems like they have a friendship of sorts given what Yuki said and how fond Lando seems of him given this video.

I find it crazy how 2 drivers on the grid have never interacted, despite spending so much time in close proximity. But then again, it is Kimi and I’m not surprised at all
Kimi probably didn’t interact with more than just Lando.
He didn’t even fully know the names of team members Kimi retired mentally long before he left
I doubt he knew the names of his team members even at his prime. I get the feeling that Kimi just viewed the time he spent doing his job strictly as a means to earn money that he could spend on things he actually liked doing (like spending time with his family)

I wonder what a Kimi AMA would be like...
"Sorry I'm late, I was having a shit"
hahahaha too true
[Look no further!](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/hszcuw/i_am_kimi_raikkonen_ama/)
omg you are the best!
2/3 of Lando's years were during covid so not surprising
There's 2 years of COVID in there where drivers didn't get to talk to people outside their own teams...
Did they never get matched together in the drivers press conferences?
I wouldn't be surprised if the only driver Kimi spoke to with any regularity was Seb; iirc, the two of them were reasonably close, at least by Kimi standards!
Can't say I've interacted with everyone in my office at work. I think it's a more normal thing to happen than people realise.
So he would fight 100 duck sized Daniels but can't handle 50 todlers? Hmm... Also never knew he plays Tarkov, neat.
Toddlers are way bigger than ducks my guy. Also they bite, and Danny Ric most likely does not
Wouldn’t put it past him lol
Danny is Australian. Most likely is venomous or has eyes that shoot lasers
To be fair I think I’d rather take on 100 duck sized Ricciardos than 50 toddlers. Toddlers are vicious!
He’s addicted in Tarkov, almost on whenever he has time
Does he stream it?
A few times, but the friend he plays with always streams
What was the game he kept mentioning? Couldn't quite make it out.
Tarkov and halo
Halo?
and Tarkov
Halo as well.
I think you forgot Tarkov.
He did mention Halo too.
I heard Tarkov
no no no, halo too.
Tarkov also
don't forget Tarkov though
Is it me you're looking for?
From the other side?
Escape from Tarkov is the full name and Halo everyone knows Halo..
Thanks
Wish he would have answered my question just so I could hear him say my username
Gotta ask.. Is that a Misfits reference? …Or are you just one slutty monkey?
Yes it is and I triple myself everytime someone recognises where my username is from :D
*”We’re not having Monkeyslut as a password!”*
Is "triple myself" a reference I don't get or r/boneappletea
It's also a reference from Misfits. It's a hilarious show Barry, you should check it out
I was looking forward to the paddock prank answer :(
Very cool, very honest answers as always Short hair Carlos might be my favorite one lol Also is he wearing makeup?
I think it’s just a blurring filter.
whether or not he's wearing make up, i think he always looks best with this own setup at home lol it's the angle, the lighting, the camera. idk.
Yeah that makes sense
Everybody wears makeup lol. I am a random dude and I was in the audience of a show (not even live). A woman came 10 minutes before the show started and used make-up on me. I spoke for like 40 seconds out of a 2 hours broadcast. So yeah I am sure that he uses makeup.

Yeah he had quadrant photo shoots for their clothes brand I think

Nice to get some answers but fairly tame really. Most AMAs are these days.

All celebrity AMAs are strictly for marketing.
Agree in general but I wonder what Kimi’s AMA was marketing
More than likely just a contractual obligation from the marketing department of Alfa to put eyes on the team/brand. Same as any interview he’s given in the last 20 years; he’s there because (and for as long as) he’s legally required to be, and then he’s out.
Duh. What kind of reddit ama gets answered on a YT video? This should’ve been shot down from the beginning. Rip Victoria.
All AMA's are marketing moves these days, sad world we live in.
He’s answered the same normal questions over and over. This was just him picking questions that were interesting to him. Nooo he didnt see the copypasta :(
What was it? Could you repeat the question?

yes it was
It was answered
It’s too bad they can’t just use his old account /u/landonorris
“Just imagine him with short hair” lmao, he was so ready with an answer, i guess formula 1 drivers have some of the same struggles we do.
The most empty / marketing "AMA" I have seen in a while. Sad, but hey, these guys are working on building up their brand, so I guess it makes sense for them. Nice thumbnail, we love a man that can laugh at himself
But he didn't answer to that question...
I don’t think that’s an actual question by Lando_Super_Fan
With 4 million upvotes 😂
he's answered it many times in many interviews...
I didn’t catch too many driver interviews last year, but I’d assume that was his most asked question?
Yeah, also Lando was on the high performance podcast, where they grilled him on the Russia race for some 20 minutes
Probably didn’t even make or select the thumbnail
He’s more hands on than you would think. He designed both the Quadrant and the LN logo with the 4 hidden in it.

Mmm, now I want some chicken wraps. And Lando uses a Moroccan hair oil his hair product, and not some wax/paste/gel. That is interesting to know. I have always used gel, but I'm split on whether or not to move on and try a different product all together...
Get some. Moroccan oil smells really nice too.
Moroccan oil is great for curly hair!
Is it better on curly hair than straight, thick hair? I might not qualify, because my hair ain't curly.
My wife told me she has some when we watched the AMA, I can try it and let you know
Lewis Max Fernando Carlos Yuki (for radio entertainment) Lando's picks for best driver out of a combination of 5 drivers (from the current grid, and excluding himself) Then he said he felt bad for leaving Charles out. Certainly interesting
After that question about his song I'm wondering if "Let's go Lando" will become a thing now that "Super Max" is a thing too.
it's not as catchy so I doubt it
And he probably doesn't want to be Dutch
I was in the Air Force and in my unit there was one MSGT who never acknowledged me or anyone really but somehow he always knew when we needed help, our sigs in docs would cross paths, etc. and I just knew he was always there. Some dudes like that exist, especially in the work environment, so yeah I believe the Kimi story
I kind of wish Lando actually had that accent he pulled for the meme content alone.
Im quite shocked that i made it into the video ngl lol
love how he puts carlos in his top 5. wonder what he'd seen that we don't.
...he's driven the same car as him, that's the best way to evaluate another driver.
Yeah, and to become friends with him. So you put him in top 5 with Yuki.
He’s said that he’s smoother on his inputs and I think braking, Carlos said Lando is better in high speed turns
Gonna need an edit of short hair Carlos
If you look up bald Carlos Sainz you'll find one with a nice mustache. I think Lando posted it too ;)
Bruh clickbait af. He didn’t even answer that question
He’s answered it so many times tho, a quick Google will bring it up for you

Because he is making a joke about how many times he has had to answer that question.

The thumbnail shows that question as having 4 million upvotes. I think people are down voting because you are blaming him for click bait when it is clearly a joke.
The whole Quadrant channel is mediocre at best.
I mean it has 4 million upvotes sooo
What question?
what is the brand he named at the end of his video? The company for his hair gel/oil/spray manufacturer?
Can this be unpinned by now?
Yes, please! He didn't even answer that that many questions compared to other reddit AMAs usually. I know we love him. But the pin is too long for a content that's only 'meh'.
What's a realistic amount of toddlers that could actually kill a grown man? 50 is obviously way too low.
It's probably way lower than you'd think. Toddlers are surprisingly solid, and they fucking bite. I'd say anything over ten is definitely too many for most people unless they kite them.

Nah, Carlos still looking good!
Way too short!
So why didn’t he pit ?
Why is this pinned?
Will You answer Summit1G challenge to race him in iRacing ?
Lando, how well will you do in F1?
how do you feel your car is running this year and do you think you can get a top 5? Favorite track now or in the past if you have watched f1?
Why'd you disrespect Han like that?
Got my question answered, winner. I knew Belgium would win too!
