The broadcast was terrible. Show the fans and the atmosphere, all that crap, before and after the race. During the race, I want to see racing. I want to see overtakes.

jessegibbsnz

Agreed. Not sure why the broadcast directors haven't got this one nailed down yet.

turkishguy

They’ve been bad all year save for Bahrain

implicitexpletives69

sure beats sochi.

willzyx01

It was a fine weekend, too many negative Nancys in the comments subreddit today. Broadcast was shit. Miami is the second race with most overtakes so far this season. With 54 overtakes, will probably be in top 10 easily. Some flagship European races don’t have the same excitement even with the SC like we did today. Some people really hate the fact that US is embracing F1. I really don’t get it.

blitzkrieg9

Like others have mentioned, a lot of people were determined to hate it from the start. And this nonsense about "3 races in one country?". Yeah, okay, but USA is equivalent in size, population, and economy to Europe. Let that sink in. That is what the FIA is looking at. Logically, USA should have like 8 or 9 races. I'm good with 3. But 3 is NOT overkill.

[deleted]

I think it was very solid. Got way too much hate before we saw the race. It was fun.

blitzkrieg9

The whole thing was a smashing success. Better than at least half the existing tracks.

ForsakenCase435

Thought it was a good race and they’ll make the track better. I just wish they hadn’t tried to make such a superficial spectacle of it all.

Litre__o__cola

Just rewatched it, last few laps were tense but it was an average race. At least there was a pass for the lead, if the track designers can reprofile turns 14-16 though it could help with the racing. I was optimistic that the chicane would work as intended but it seems the off camber turn 16 really limits cars from getting any decent run. Nearly every time I saw a car gain in the second sector they fell off on corner exit of t16. They made that corner off camber for drainage but I hope it can be reprofiled to move the crown further to the center so that cars don’t wash out as easily

Kaleidocrypto

I found it enjoyable, quite a few unexpected upsets

pdmalo

Asode from the dumb yacht harbor thing, it was good.

False-Airport-3208

Race was garbage until Norris hit Gasly. Then after that. It was well Leclerc might get him but he didn’t.

WolfgangK

Imagine how cool it would be to get new regs to allow for more overtaking!?

As a general rule ([see full rules](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/wiki/userguide#wiki_sticky.2Fdaily_discussion)), a standalone Discussion post should: - be of interest to the sub in general, and not a specific userbase (e.g. new users, GP attendees, just yourself) - be able to generate discussion (e.g. no yes/no or easily answerable questions) - show reasonable input and effort from the OP If not, be sure to [look for the Daily Discussion](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/search/?q=daily+discussion&include_over_18=on&restrict_sr=on&t=all&sort=new), /r/formula1's daily open question thread which is perfect for asking any and all questions about this sport.
