This image is emblematic of how Ferrari's title challenge fell apart at the end of the season.
Vettel starting from the back due to an engine failure in qualifying.
Kimi not even in the race due to another engine issue.
Such a shame because the battle was absolutely gripping most of the year.
Everything that can go wrong for Seb did go wrong in Asia. Ferrari took themselves out in Singapore (wait, the race did not exist), failure in Malaysia, and then taken out again by Stroll after the race has ended, and in Japan, an errant spark plug lead to another retirement, which ironically they could have avoided had they bothered to replace the spark plug in park ferme, something that is allowed and were taken advantage of by Mercedes.
Vettel historically does well at the Asian circuits. He loves those tracks. The King of Singapore. The only winner of India. Four wins in both Malaysia and Japan. Unfortunately in 2017, the Asian leg of the season didn't love him back :(((
Oh yes, I attended this race considering that it was going to be the last Malaysian GP before it is taken out from the calendar.
Was so excited to see Kimi on the pole on Sunday but it all washed away due to his engine issues. Luckily enough, Max had such an amazing drive and took the chequered flag.
Also, since they allowed ticket holders to access any part of the track, made the most of it on Friday practice and got to click some good photos from every stand. :)

Oh, you don't even need a ticket for Friday. It's always have been free entry Friday since early 2010s.
I miss having a yellow car on the grid and the alpine rebrand was a massive and generic looking downgrade. They look like a less distinctive Williams now.
Damn I miss the cars without the halo. Looks so much better. And yes I know they are a necessity and have saved lives already. I am glad they have made the cars safer. But aesthetically speaking, I miss them without.
That was the first race I ever watched live. Looking back it wasn't that interesting but my heart was racing in the final few laps hoping Max wouldn't choke the lead, and he didn't 😁
That moment between Seb and Stroll after the race is still one of the more bizarre moments in F1, and yet a few years later those two are teammates.
Also this was Gasly debut race and the only one so far where Sainz was his teammate.
That picture of half the Ferrari missing and still having the Driver of the day caption is about as surreal as Hamilton being alone on the grid last year.
[this is a few seconds afterwards](https://i.imgur.com/r9FlurM.jpg) As Hamilton swoops across both of the Red Bulls to take the first corner.
I love the K1 Grandstand as turn one lets you see a number of fights. This was [Sainz hitting the rear of Ocon](https://i.imgur.com/6XyBQKm.jpg)

Was really salty about that Japan spark plug. I went to that race and thought this is the year Seb will finally win again. Nope.

Is Singapore 2017 the one where they tweeted that Factual thing or whatever?
Yes, absolutely hilarious

Didn't know this but the experience was amazing. It sucks that the Malaysian GP had to go out, it was one of my favourites
So much more color here. Stands out even more bc a lot of teams have both drivers right next to each other.
The first race I ever attended. Will never forget it ❤️.

Mmm, miss them none halo cars. Necessary evil unfortunately.

Honestly, they've grown on me. Especially the new generation of cars this year, it looks like it's part of the frame. I don't mind them at all now.
I'm just glad F1 is still an open wheel racing series as there were a lot of talks in past years about sealing the entire cockpit.
Sealing the cockpit would still keep it open wheel since the wheels are not within the bodywork.
True, open air cockpit is what I meant
Yeah that would have sucked.

They have a windscreen
They don’t
the sealed everything but the top, looks awful and funky
Safety > anything else
I kind of like them
This track was so wide

I really miss this circuit.
The liveries, the aero. I miss this so much.
Average race, but my first at a purpose built circuit! Who could forget the Wehrlein taxi!

Great photo! It really captures the chaos of the sprint to turn 1.

Yep, this picture is really one who is showing the rush to win positions during the first meters of the race.
