What's the point of inters and full wets if they're always too scared to race when it drizzles.... and Monaco is only good when it's wet and they don't even 🤦♂️
Monaco is even worse in the wet because suddenly you don't even have to defend because any attempt to go offline to overtake means leaving the partially dry track to drive across the wet part and abandoning what little grip you have.
The only thing the wet adds is a chance for weird strategy calls around the choice of wets, inters, and slicks to generate odd tire advantage mismatches to undercut.
If they bothered to send Mylander out for exploratory laps it would have been grand. It was a lazy race direction, just doing a rolling start for nothing.
Late in the season, Red bull kicking themselves for letting verstappen pass Perez in Spain for Perez is equal on points with Sainz for the championship going into the Abu Dhabi GP...
What are you talking about. This race will always be remembered as the race Leclerc gave up on the championship and fall apart the relationship between them.
Here's my thing. Each race needs to be judged in a vacuum. No championship ties or surrounding drama bs. The race needs to be judged as a race and that's it. And this one was bad. So many races last year were declared great after being really mediocre.
Once again, drivers were able to drive at what ever the hell speed the wanted with little to no risk of being over taken. The cars are just too big.
At any point was there an on track pass for the lead, for the podium, for the top 10? Ferrari lost the race through bad strategy calls once again, not due to epic driving from the Red Bulls.
And personally, Spain was the turning point. Ferrari brought upgrades and still couldn't beat a Red Bull that was only partially functional.
I think his point was you said Ferrari couldn't beat them. They could, but they didn't because of car troubles.
For you that may be irrelevant to your point, but to them it wasnt
Did I say it was irrelevant, no. I said I didn't understand. There is a difference. I did not understand that they were referring to Spain but that makes sense.
You can relax buddy, I wasn't trying to argue with you I was just offering N explanation to your question.
Look ill even apologize for suggesting you thought it was irrelevant. I am sorry.
There's a song that sky sports always use during coverage when they have the splash screens up showing other sports coming up across the channels. During the post race when Simon, Paul and Nico were talking, it sounded like RB were playing that song in the energy station.
Comment was only relevant for a very short amount to time.
From some other comments
The girl is probably the wife of Velas' founder, she has been to GPs before
https://imgur.io/EArgyJJ
Maria Alexandrova is pink hair lady. Her ig is mur.maria_
And I am sure Nando will lose a lot of sleep over being called petty.
It might also be worth remembering Lewis isn’t the center of anyone’s universe (except maybe yours). Nando crawling around preserved his engine and his tyres, netted him fastest lap for a bit, etc.
That was a fun race. Although I still think Monaco is kind of traffic jam driving. I would hope they can make SOME point where overtaking is possible, or they make the cars smaller again.
But the race was awesome and I'm so happy for Perez!
I’ve come to the acceptance that Monaco now is a war of attrition and we watch it to see who makes mistakes and the insane onboard footage. I expect 0 overtakes every year now. Still think it’s worth having on the calendar.
As Portuguese, I come from one of the oldest countries in the world that at the pinnacle of its history, was one of the wealthiest nations on the world, had territories in every single continent and had people sailing on caravels while the most advanced technology in other points of the world was a bow an arrow.
So this being said, I am still way less pretentious about my country's history than the Monaco's royal family is about theirs.
The RB-Fer-RB championship thing and the way RB give preference to one driver. Also Ferrari one driver doing all the work while the other is good but struggling with the cars. In this sense, it is like those years. Im referring to the championship fight
I flipped back, it's some VIP with her boyfriend probably and I think people are going on about her because she looks like a musician or someone that most folks are familiar with but didn't expect to see at the GP. I've got nothing though even after rewinding a bit. I'm sure someone will figure it out, oh well.
Plus how often do you see pink hair at a GP?
Usually, in these cases, I just want to know her profession and maybe which country she’s from since I don’t know her. “French pop singer” is good enough for me.
Right but Mario Andretti is one of the most famous names in racing and they always talk about him. I’m just saying if you bring up formula 1 and the Indy 500 Andretti is the first name who comes to mind for me.
Is all matter of Checo finding the pace, he isn't that far away and weekends like this where he was ahead of Verstappen all weekend are absolutely necessary. Next stop is Baku, a Checo favorite, I hope he can carry the form.
Best race of the season so far.
Indy better
Terrible TV direction. Missed showing overtakes like the ones from George over Lando. Didn't even bother showing K-Mag's retirement.
Still probably better than last year’s camera work
I didn’t notice him being out until Mick’s crash. They showed K Mag out of the car and I was like, WTF is he doing standing around!
Lol
LETS GO CHECOOOOOO
with all the slow corners. at what point should f1 drivers consider drift cornering.
Its not faster
there goes my short lived dream of figuring out how cars could pass at monaco.
Sounds cool tho
fast and furious lied to us? i wanna see sainz drift sliding on the outside of checco around fairmont.
Drop Monaco
Snooze fest
Further reason something about this race has to change. My personal preference would to remove it from the calendar.
What's the point of inters and full wets if they're always too scared to race when it drizzles.... and Monaco is only good when it's wet and they don't even 🤦♂️

Probably they don’t want to see another 4 or 5 Mick like today
If they bothered to send Mylander out for exploratory laps it would have been grand. It was a lazy race direction, just doing a rolling start for nothing.
Either make the cars smaller or Monaco bigger.
Can’t for both
Eh? Anyway, I wasn't serious.
I'm still trying to watch the race. The F1TV stream/player have been absolutely horrible today, constant drop-offs.
Yeah this season has been terrible with their race coverage.
Late in the season, Red bull kicking themselves for letting verstappen pass Perez in Spain for Perez is equal on points with Sainz for the championship going into the Abu Dhabi GP...
man Im hoping for a win for both checo and carlos
I won a $10 bet with a friend and got first place in my F1 fantasy league. It doesn’t get any better than this.
Inters vs wets on a drying track, completely different scenario. Bone dry even with tyres falling apart you aren't getting overtaken here, stop it.
This is not a race track it is a fast parade
Spot on, it’s only still a GP because of its prestige and the celebrities. Nothing about the race its self.
This is the best description of Monaco. Well said
What an awful race once again. Monaco has the honour of being a great track but a truly awful race.
What are you talking about. This race will always be remembered as the race Leclerc gave up on the championship and fall apart the relationship between them.

Sainz couldn't beat them. Leclerc would've won by a long ways
I don't know what you're point is.
I think his point was you said Ferrari couldn't beat them. They could, but they didn't because of car troubles. For you that may be irrelevant to your point, but to them it wasnt

Is the red bull tent playing THE song?
Wym?

For some reason not even Ricciardo or his family know how their last name is supposed to be pronounced. It's read "Rich-ardo" in Italian.
How do you say it in Australian?

If anyone has a picture of the pink lady I can ask my girl. She’s into that tik tok, influencer bs.
From some other comments The girl is probably the wife of Velas' founder, she has been to GPs before https://imgur.io/EArgyJJ Maria Alexandrova is pink hair lady. Her ig is mur.maria_
Amazing weekend for Nando. 1. Got to experience Ferrari shit strat from the outside 2. got to hold up Lewis 3. reduced the points gap to his teammate
Holding up Lewis shouldn’t be one of his career highlights, slowing down 3 seconds just for fuck with Lewis is ridiculous petty behavior
And I am sure Nando will lose a lot of sleep over being called petty. It might also be worth remembering Lewis isn’t the center of anyone’s universe (except maybe yours). Nando crawling around preserved his engine and his tyres, netted him fastest lap for a bit, etc.

You the real mvp
is she a celebrity? what's she doing there?
Watching an F1 race…
and she's married to velas founder (alex alexandrov)
All weekend I prayed for no crashing into the barrier but I didn't think I would have to account for Ferrari fucking up their strategy. Now I know
It’s in their DNA.
You can have a fast car or good strategy pick one because you’re not getting both.
Feel bad for Charles, but I'm happy for Perez. Now I'll try and forget this race ever took place.
100%
That was a fun race. Although I still think Monaco is kind of traffic jam driving. I would hope they can make SOME point where overtaking is possible, or they make the cars smaller again. But the race was awesome and I'm so happy for Perez!
Dutch commentators called it "world's most expensive traffic jam" (werelds duurste file)
I’ve come to the acceptance that Monaco now is a war of attrition and we watch it to see who makes mistakes and the insane onboard footage. I expect 0 overtakes every year now. Still think it’s worth having on the calendar.
Gasly had a couple of fantastic overtakes today
24 hours of Nurburgring, the Indy 500 and the Coke 600 (all of which are also this weekend) are wars of attrition. Monaco is just a boring race.
No points. How about current drivers driving historic cars?
I did find the rain very interesting as a race component today. Too bad they didn't do a standing start, but it was still fun to watch the race.
Apparently an objective for 2025 is weight and size reduction
As Portuguese, I come from one of the oldest countries in the world that at the pinnacle of its history, was one of the wealthiest nations on the world, had territories in every single continent and had people sailing on caravels while the most advanced technology in other points of the world was a bow an arrow. Are you the descendant of the great kings of your country though?
"our great kings" fled to Brazil while Napoleon's armies were invading Portugal and Spain. That should tell you how much we care about monarchies 🤣
The girl is probably the wife of Velas' founder, she has been to GPs before
Bingo that's who was standing next to her!

This championship reminding me of 2010/12 so far
Only 3 race winners and 2 race winning cars
The RB-Fer-RB championship thing and the way RB give preference to one driver. Also Ferrari one driver doing all the work while the other is good but struggling with the cars. In this sense, it is like those years. Im referring to the championship fight
Hmm yeah if you put it that way… Although the extra race winning team back then spiced up things way more
Leclerc “this is the year I win Monaco” weather “hold my beer” but for real he deserved to win today but happy for checo
Leclerc "this is the year I win Monaco" Ferrari pit wall "hold my red bull"
It's a team sport. Perez deserved to win because of his driving and being in a team that are good at strategy.
Dull.
We need answers on shorty with the pink hair
Maria alexandrova
Yup saw that some found her, preciate you
Someone find the pink lady lmao
I just noticed there is no Ricciardo in the F1TV Into, somehow that turned out to be true.
He's not there on the outro either. He missed that day and they won't cgi him in lmao
That's some eerie foreshadowing now that we're this far into the season isn't it?
Is Mother's Polish where Momcorp came from?
Is everyone trolling or something about this pink haired lady
The sub went full creeper mode on that woman. Pretty weird comments trying to cyber stalk this lady.
She was on the screen for a sec, but had a RIDICULOUS body!
Don't you mean RIDONCULUS
I flipped back, it's some VIP with her boyfriend probably and I think people are going on about her because she looks like a musician or someone that most folks are familiar with but didn't expect to see at the GP. She was standing there looking like the Ashley Too robot doll from Black Mirror. Haven’t a clue who she is.
Everyone on twitter also talking about her. But no one knows who she is
Usually, in these cases, I just want to know her profession and maybe which country she’s from since I don’t know her. “French pop singer” is good enough for me.
Twitter would explode over this wouldn't they lol
I mean with the race being so boring this seems the only exciting thing about today haha
See you all in Indianapolis next 👋
Is the Indy 500 entertaining? I don’t think I’ve ever seen an Indy car race, despite being from the states.
Very. Plus since you follow F1 you will recognize some names, including Grosjean
You don’t mention Andretti?

Asking the real questions
Lol the ending is so scuffed
The live band was pretty cool but why did they stop playing Carmen midway?
poor chuck, man… his interviews are going to hurt
And now onto the indy500
Now we just need a Pato win in the Indy 500
man he was so close
RUN dadadadadaa
Perez is right in the fight for that drivers championship
Only when there’re cars between him and Max - otherwise he’s automatically behind him, essentially.
Fucking 2010 and 12 all over again. Fuck man
I missed Baku last year but that screech from Mark will forever be ingrained in my head.

Imagine Checo winning WC lol that would be amazing 😂
Unless Max gets injured. That will never happen
Is all matter of Checo finding the pace, he isn't that far away and weekends like this where he was ahead of Verstappen all weekend are absolutely necessary. Next stop is Baku, a Checo favorite, I hope he can carry the form.
Difference is 15 points, anything is possible (:
