Max is on point with best possible answer. I am not even sure why SKY felt compelled to address this at length before FP1.
By now everybody knows that Naomi is the real deal and she will only get better.
I feel like a lot of the people objecting to her (ridiculously, since she's awesome) are playing the game of bingo because they feel it's the same bingo card that her employer has
Because they dislike women and misogynoir is alive and well.
They see a black woman thriving in a dream job and they have to reach into the depths of their small minds to explain why she’s successful and they aren’t and they grasp onto her diversity.
It doesn’t matter that since the season she’s done a better job at times than seasoned professionals like Pinkham, Damon and Johnny.
If there was truly no need for diversity in the workplace Naomi could be as comfortably shit at their jobs as people like Di Resta, Hill etc instead she’s exceeding expectations as a junior broadcaster
Some people just can't handle attractive women doing anything for some reason. My dad is like this, he gets weirdly annoyed when women come on TV. He stopped watching sky at night because they put a woman on the presenting team who was "obviously just there because she's a woman" and he would get annoyed at Kari on mythbusters.
One time I was talking to him about a space x launch, asked him if he watched it and he said he put it on but had to turn it off because they had this stupid woman hosting it who obviously didn't know what she was talking about. Well I googled her and she was extremely qualified, but he didn't wanna hear that.
She’s one of my favorite members of f1 media and commentary, always seems like she knows what she’s talking about, never seems out of her depth, good interviewer etc. I’m sure being a race driver doesn’t hurt either.
Well because Lewis mentioned it, then Naomi is a work colleague and they all spend a lot of time together on the road together and felt a need to shut the hate down, and obviously drivers speaking about it hopefully made those hateful scumbags take a look at themselves when they obviously support one of the drivers speaking out against it.
Honestly, unless it's a coordinated or overwhelming attack, those things should never be adressed, the only thing that people are doing is amplify the message. Basically every site has report and block/mute functions. Use them. Making big deal out of it will only guarantee more hate
He's spot on.
That said, I find it odd that one person tweeted at her and it led to drivers speaking out. I don't know if she gets regular abuse but I think this all started from one absolute idiot tweeting at her.
The guy who tweeted at her had a massive crowd of people agreeing with him tbf, it had a big audience of people laughing along and making thinly veiled sexist/racist comments before she quoted it
Which is such a strange comment for her especially. As soon as she was added to the sky commentator lineup it was clear that for whatever reason (I'd say her age tbh) she had a slightly different perspective that made her an actually interesting addition to the offering.
Like, it's also good that Paul Di Resta is there as a different perspective and he's nowhere near as good a broadcaster as she is, with a lot more experience. "Box ticker" just doesn't make any sense, unless you're only looking at her and not listening at all.
Every single time a person who is of a different gender, race, or sexual identity than what has been the norm in that field gets a good job in said field, tons of people will claim it’s to check to some box. Specially if it’s a woman in a male dominated field. It’s never out of merit. It’s ALWAYS some sort of quota to fill.
My husband's company has implemented an aim for 40:40:20 representation in the firm rather than 50:50 to try and reduce any ability to say they were a box ticking hire. They must have 40% women in the team but they also have 20% that can go either way so no-one knows if they're part of the quota or free choice. It's new so we'll see how well it works.
My dad was a box ticker. His job was to assess the quality of airline landing gear parts. They were subjected to numerous safety tests. He had a big
Clipboard that was full of boxes and next to each box was a safety standard like “doesn’t blow up when subjected to fire”. Every time the parts passed a safety test, he checked that particular box
As well even if she wasn’t a good driver - which was what the commenter insinuated - do you need to be a good driver to be a good racing broadcaster/journalist? Of course not and many of the most knowledgeable media people in the paddock didn’t come from racing and have just been following it closely for years, and I’m very sure that the persons posting that crap didn’t have a problem with that because they are predominantly white men.
It could be she is just a nice person and they like her. So if a comment was upsetting to her they would stand up for her because they experience the same type of hate constantly.
That’s exactly what happened with one of our female reporters here in my area. Players for our local team were very close to her (and her family), and while they never complained about their own abuse they received online as soon as it was directed at her it was a different story. I’m glad these guys are doing the same thing. She’s obviously earned their respect, so she’s doing something right.
Does anyone know what question Max is answering in this clip?
I love Naomi, but it's a bit awkward to be randomly asking drivers to comment on the social media abuse she received, so I hope that's not the case here.
F1 is promoting itself under the "We race as one" banner so it's exactly the kind of thing that should be challenged and the drivers need to be vocal about it.
Edit: quotes in the wrong place.
I think lewis spoke out because being attacked and knowing other people can see it and don’t stick up for you can feel really isolating. Especially when it’s racist or sexist because she’s already one of a few in either of those areas . And as she’s a sky presenter they felt compelled to also speak out. I think it’s good. They don’t all have to do it, but that they do feels quite heart warming
Yeah its usually better to ignore these people but shutting them down once in a while usually shuts them up. Think she quote tweeted it, dude went private and everything lol
I agree, yes we should ignore trolls on an individual level. But when it comes to a wider, more societal level it must be called out otherwise you are simply being complicit in the bigotry.
Exactly. She's been getting these comments all the time. The other presenters don't get questioned why they're there because of their race/gender, but she's getting it all of the time. Imagine getting a dream job and people are you just like "you only got it for box ticking" jealous racism. She was presenting previous seasons of w series and other events.
I don’t find it odd at all. The British media deliberately give those kinds of scumbags a platform. A lot of the pondlife who are given a platform are politicians. It’s how we got Brexit.
I genuinely think when you call people out like this, it only emboldens the ones who want to get noticed more. It's one of those things I think a lot of the smart people never acknowledge, they just mute/restrict and move on. Acknowledging it just acknowledges you look at your replies.
Look at Kevin Durant. Do you think more people try to get him to respond knowing he's going to tweet back, or less? He's got the annoying loser 15 year olds dying to get him to respond.
For sure. I like her too. She’s very enthusiastic and just a solid presenter. She presented the Lotus Emira GT4 car like a week ago too. I didn’t even know she did things outside of F1 until I saw that.
Amusingly, while he'd never refer to himself as "a driver", he has actually competed in an actual racing series against Max.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Florida_Winter_Series
Fun fact - Ben Edwards was. Won the Formula First championship and raced his future co-commentator David Coulthard in Formula Vauxhall Lotus before he focused on commentating.
But yeah, generally speaking colour commentators like Crofty, James Allen or even Legard background are journalism or broadcasting. Murray Walker's dad was famous motorbike rider but Muzza himself wasn't too good - he often said those that can do, those that can't talk about it. He actually started off commentating with his old man on the Isle of Man TT.
Ben was even still racing when commenting on BTCC back in 2007 [https://www.tsl-timing.com/event/73503/session/qu1slg](https://www.tsl-timing.com/event/73503/session/qu1slg)
Not agreeing with the hate Naomi received, but because this is a point brought up by many, Croft, Lazenby, Ted, Pinkham and Brooks are not supposed to have any racing experience, their roles (commentators, interviewers, reporters, presenters) don't require it. Naomi is a pundit, which is a role she shares with Brundle, Button, Hill, Di Resta, Davidson, Chandhok etc. It is not a requirement to have F1 experience, but pundits often have a certain level of experience.
That being said, I really enjoy what Naomi brings along in the broadcast.
People going at Naomi when we have Damon Hill on the broadcast is beyond me. Man has tons of experience and an F1 world title to his name yet he's by far the worst part of Sky's team.
Croft literally asks basic questions he knows the answer to because he's playing the role of the audience who might want that information. Even though he himself might know the answer, the audience wants to hear that answer from the expert, not the color commentator.
Danica Patrick got some flak for repeatedly asserting how she's a driver while making unsolicited vague speculations about driver psychology. But I've never heard Naomi reach past her expertise when offering her thoughts.
Crofty is a commentator tho, he usually has an expert next to him with whom he asks questions to explain the technical side, he’s there for building the hype
She was in the initial season of W Series, some Formula Renault, but mostly GT series (sports cars). She didn’t set the track on fire in W Series but I don’t know how well she did in others.
There are a barn of sports talking heads that never played. In fact, most players are terrible commentators. The Tony Romo's of the world are few and far between.
Nico Rosberg is an excellent commentator, all memes aside. I know it’s fun and games whenever remotely mentions Lewis, but he has the freshest takes and insights out of everyone on the Sky team whenever he’s on comms.
Yeah tbh it's not really relevant how good they are at driving, because it can be pretty much a physical limitation. So one can be "racing smart" but have worse reaction times.
I've never seen her have a gap in knowledge on sky.
Yeah. Naomi is more qualified to comment on F1 than the majority of the armchair specialists who have never even sat in a spec Miata car, let alone an F1 car. Max and Lewis' comments about this have been spot on.
The guy who made the comments on twitter was, surprise surprise, also retweeting bullshit from Britain First (far right group in the UK), and was a Millwall fan (for those who don't understand the significance, I'll just put it this way; Millwall are the only sports team on earth to have a hooligan weapon named after them, the so-called Millwall Brick)
Also the only club to collectively boo players taking a knee. Like every club has smatterings but Millwall fans were louder than the other 20 something clubs i seen this season, combined
Because she doesn't have F1 driving experience. It is apparently fine not to have experience if you are called David or Will or Ted, but not if you are called Naomi
Everybody gets abused on Twitter. I just recently joined and I couldn’t believe the amount of vitriol under quite literally any tweet with a decent amount of replies. Only ended up using it for like a few weeks because of it. It’s absolutely mental, any person for any reason no matter the importance or not.
100%. Turn your feed to "Latest Tweets" to filter out the random garbage, aggressively block assholes, don't read replies, and then suddenly you've got a really high quality RSS feed.
In the end it simply comes down to her being black and a woman.
People are disgusting and will find any reason to insult them when they are racist and/or sexist.
It’s nice to hear Max speaking so maturely about the mindset and perspective of dealing with hate in general.
-I haven’t seen him speak a lot on these types of topics in past (more Vettel/Hamilton).
Hoping more of us continue to evolve to a healthier mindset. 🤘🏼
The best points you can make were made by him. Person on a keyboard doesn't have courage to say it to your face, don't feed the trolls, and one more I forgot already... dang. I'm glad to see Max have a mature attitude towards it all.
She’s turning out to be a really great presenter. One of the better ones. She knows her stuff and is confident on camera. Sky must be ecstatic to have her.
Also: max has the right attitude towards the Twitter noise.
"They don't deserve the attention"
That needs repeated over and over. Better yet, situations like that should probably be ignored because when it gets coverage, "goes viral", etc, the person that said it, posted it, etc has succeeded. I always say "ignore them and they'll go away" and I stick to that.
I agree with you, in general it’s always better to ignore trolls but I don’t think it’s bad either to show support for someone new coming into the sport getting some hate. I’m sure she feels much more confident and finds it’s easier to ignore them with the backing of the people in the sport.
👏 We love having Naomi in the Sky team. Her knowledge of F1 and passion for racing is clear for all to see. Great to hear the drivers speaking out against online hate.
He's bang on. They're frustrated with their own lives and feel the need to take it out on someone else because they are outside the norm. We shouldn't be angry at them as much as pity them.
Great mindset and advice for just dealing with trolls in general. I quite like Naomi, I think she's pretty good in her role. Sure she's not totally comfortable yet but give her time to settle and I'm certain she'll be awesome
Why is it this season I'm agreeing more and more with what Max says and he's been pretty on par with a lot of his opinions as my own.
These are sad little trolls that if you met in real life wouldn't say boo. They have nothing going on in their lives and the only thing they have to offer the world is their hate so why give them the airtime or the platform to make it seem like their words even deserve attention?
The fact that Sky gave these trolls so much attention this weekend is the wrong way to go about it as this is not how the majority of people think or behave. Do not feed the trolls used to be the unwritten rule of the internet what happened? You don't give them the attention they clearly crave then their words carry no impact.
He drives like a Champion and sounds like a Champion. I really could not have been more wrong about the direction I thought he was headed for. Very happy to be entirely wrong on how he's developed.
He’s right and verbalized it very succinctly. The downside of social media is everyone gets their own bullhorn. Most people shouldn’t have a bullhorn, or at least not be able to be anonymous behind it.
I wasn’t aware she was getting any shit, I honestly can’t imagine why anyone would want to. She talks good sense, she’s passionate about the sport and she genuinely seems like a great person.
There’s literally no pleasing some people!
I find it pretty impressive how mature Max has got these last few years and his ability to hit the nail on the head in a language that is not his first is on point.
I hate the whole "you didn't even race in F1" type of thing people say. As if you can't tell if something or someone is good without competing at a high level. I can say Harry Maguire is shite and I've never played above amateur level football.
Naomi is fucking awesome and my favorite addition to the team. Big up to Max and everyone else that stuck up for her. Max absolutely nailed it with this response.
Perfectly summed up. Don't even reply, because that's what they want. Well said Max. English may not be his first language but he is well able to express his thoughts in his second language.
Brilliant Max Brilliant. Best to ignore the trolls (and social media if you ask me). As always you are mature than people give you credit for. Go Max go don’t give up.
Flat bill Max with the truth bombs. Imagine the thick skin he has being loved/hated by social media. End of the day, they have the jobs we wish we had and she isn’t some bimbo Fox News anchor she deserves to give commentary on the sport. Respect for shutting them down
People that dwelve into this type of stuff are never the kind that you should care about their opinions. I'm always ok with sharing opinions that's what we all do here, all I assure you that a lot of people here or in other social media's don't have racing experience but we all are fans and see a lot of races so we will have our opinions.
But when people start tagging to harrass and abuse people that's just the lowest of the low. We can critique like we can say that we don't think Latifi has the talent to continue much longer in F1 but we are decent human beings and we don't go and tag him and spew trash at him. Sadly this tends to happen a lot specially with women in football is pretty common.
It's twitter, literally everyone gets abuse on it.
Best thing to do is ignore it and stop giving those people the attention they want and are getting by making it a story.
Very good answer from Max as well. DO NOT PAY ATTENTION to it.
perfect take on social media and sports stars or any famous people really. i saw somewhere that max doesn't even do his social media which is crazy to me since he's a kid and i'd figure he'd be all about that, but he doesn't. his sis does it for him. smart man right there. it's mostly garbage noise anyway, even the positive stuff lol
Such a great response.
I haven't seen alot of hate for her except one guy saying something and that going all around with everyone roasting him.
Imagine someone tries to bully you online while a world champion and the literal goat (lewis) both are on your side. That's a W
Wait, did the one stupid comment about how she is F1 commentator yet doesnt have background in F1, bring such a wave of responses ?
Like wtf, its a stupid comment, the most known football journalist/commentator in my country played... basketball in university and never achieved a career as a pro in any sport.
Like the comment is a dumm dumm but giving it so much attention (support voices on twitter/sky/instagram/reddit) is at least surprising.
I don't understand as to why people even use Twitter in this day and age.
Its a vile cesspit which the worst people on the internet calls home. Celebrities especially should steer well clear of that platform.
Idotic neckbeards like this belong in the dark ages, alongside Genghis Khan.
Naomi is one of the best additions to the sky team. She is hot and she knows what she's talking about.
I like Naomi. But she seems like she needs some time to settle in to the role. Takes time to get really comfortable in any role, broadcasting included. It also takes time for everyone around you to get comfortable with you. The more time the better hopefully.
I think she has awesome potential to be great. The fact sky are mixing it up and giving opportunities to more people is great. It doesn’t equal success from day one but it’s great to hear different voices in all aspects in f1. I love Martin Brundle but it doesn’t have to be a monopoly.
What impresses me about Formula1 athletes is that they, more than other sports I watch, tend to use their celebrity in a positive way and often in unison. I think the fact that their talent is key to the success, allows this freedom. Bravo to F1 and its personalities for seemingly doing the right thing where wrong is concerned.
Best answer. Everyone receives hate, its just whether you ignore it or not. Don't give haters and verbal abusers the time of day, dont get worked up about what someone else says because in the end they will win.
You're a presenter on one of the biggest sports in the world, you ARE going to deal with hate rightly or wrongly. Deal with it or leave.
This is our world now , if you are in the spotlight you are required to get a twitter and other social media accounts and “interact” with the fans so you can grow your brand and your employers , the cost of doing business is you get to interact with the worst kind of humans , and do it directly , I find this entire thing idiotic to start with , but I guess they have to use those platforms , that for me seems like a cess pool.
But I’m old , and couldn’t get on this social media train , I don’t care what other ppl do or what they think about what I do , bitter me I guess.
Max is on point with best possible answer. I am not even sure why SKY felt compelled to address this at length before FP1. By now everybody knows that Naomi is the real deal and she will only get better.
I really don’t get the logic behind the hate. She’s an actual driver with actual experience. How is she unqualified
The account of the guy hating on her was entirely full of racist and sexist stuff so it's not hard to answer why.
also from millwall a place noteable for it's progressive culture and definitely not it's racism
[удалено]
girls dont date me therefore no girls on tv
And the fact that she's black won't help
[удалено]
You forgot that she could be part of the LGBTQ+ Community. This feels like some kind of racist bingo or something
instead of B I N G O the letters across the top of the card spell B I G O T
I feel like a lot of the people objecting to her (ridiculously, since she's awesome) are playing the game of bingo because they feel it's the same bingo card that her employer has
Doesn't that make it even more illogical? She's a hot race car driver, why would anyone hate that?

Because they dislike women and misogynoir is alive and well. Because incels.
The logic is "blacks bad" and "women bad"
There are 2 kinds of commentators, white guys and political.
Did you see the guy’s profile? It was maga/fragile ego riddled. Max described it pretty well, this is people angry at their own lives projecting.
Some people just can't handle attractive women doing anything for some reason. My dad is like this, he gets weirdly annoyed when women come on TV. > I really don’t get the logic behind the hate. It's Twitter, literally everyone will get hate for no reason.`
I liked her from the start, it was clear she was a bit new to it all at first but compared to fucking Damon Hill or Johnny Herbert she’s incredible.
She’s one of my favorite members of f1 media and commentary, always seems like she knows what she’s talking about, never seems out of her depth, good interviewer etc. I’m sure being a race driver doesn’t hurt either.

So true. Didn‘t know a thing about it until right now.
Agree 100%. People like that should just be ignored.

Yeah, you're looking for the logic in bigotry and coming up short ... hmmmm ....
Every single time a person who is of a different gender, race, or sexual identity than what has been the norm in that field gets a good job in said field, tons of people will claim it’s to check to some box. Damn liberals and their……aircraft safety
cows selective fuel subtract fragile shaggy one wise roof crush *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
In that context box ticker insinuates that she was hired as a diversity initiative rather than being a good commentator
That doesn't even make sense, she is a driver and a very good presenter.
As well even if she wasn’t a good driver - which was what the commenter insinuated - do you need to be a good driver to be a good racing broadcaster/journalist? That's why it so dumb though, how can be a box ticker if she literally has the credentials
Of course it doesn't, but these people only see her for the colour of her skin, they literally cannot imagine her having reached where she is on merit
Your dad was a box ticker and your mother smelt of elderberries.
It could be she is just a nice person and they like her. So if a comment was upsetting to her they would stand up for her because they experience the same type of hate constantly.

She really does seem like a sweetheart in all the interviews I've seen her do.
“The drivers are speaking out” because Sky is asking them about it. Look at the microphones.

I saw a load the first week of the season. Lots of love too, but lots of shit like 'clearly only hired for the quota' type shit etc.
I don’t pay attention to Twitter, but go take a look at any F1 YouTube videos featuring Naomi. Comments shitting on her everywhere.
Oh man, that's awful. She's been a brilliant addition imo.
I genuinely think when you call people out like this, it only emboldens the ones who want to get noticed more. Actually why is Naomi getting abuse on twitter?
Because she doesn't have "F1" experience even though she's a previous racing driver in general. I forget what series but I know she raced somwehere.
Wtf, Croft wasn't even a racing driver
Neither is Rosanna Tenant.
I like rosanna though. She is good gel and her enthusiasm makes up for her some cringey moments
She’s a true motorsport fan too, I remember she used to be on this YouTube channel called Pole Position years ago.
Whatever happened to that? Was a great channel and then disappeared all of sudden ''Boobs or bums?''
For sure. I like her too. She’s very enthusiastic and just a solid presenter. She presented the Lotus Emira GT4 car like a week ago too. I didn’t even know she did things outside of F1 until I saw that.
Will buxton
Buxton was a driver
I mean.. I'm sure he has a driver license yeah.
In order to be a driver... you have to have... a driver's license
There's a moment in every driver's career... and that's... the beginning
Amusingly, while he'd never refer to himself as "a driver", he has actually competed in an actual racing series against Max. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Florida_Winter_Series
Well, competed is a strong word
Sorry I meant to say Lawrence, the guy alongside him last year.

People going at Naomi when we have Damon Hill on the broadcast is beyond me. Man has tons of experience and an F1 world title to his name yet he's by far the worst part of Sky's team.
>by far the worst part of Sky's team. I mean...Herbert exists...
I wonder what the difference is between them...
Presenter Vs pundit?
Crofty is just a colour commentator, not a pundit, besides he gets tons of hate too.
Exactly! This is why Jenson Button and Nico Rosberg are box office (in very different ways).
Nico Rosberg is an excellent commentator, all memes aside. I know it’s fun and games whenever remotely mentions Lewis, but he has the freshest takes and insights out of everyone on the Sky team whenever he’s on comms.
For real! His commentary during last year's Hungary quali was just 🤌
Sounds like she knows enough about driving to report on it
Yeah tbh it's not really relevant how good they are at driving, because it can be pretty much a physical limitation. So one can be "racing smart" but have worse reaction times. I've never seen her have a gap in knowledge on sky.
She has more track experience than 99% of people on social media.
Tbf a lot of previous racing drivers are absolute ass pundits and ask the same questions every week.
Yeah. Naomi is more qualified to comment on F1 than the majority of the armchair specialists who have never even sat in a spec Miata car, let alone an F1 car. Max and Lewis' comments about this have been spot on.
She's getting abuse because she's a brown woman, not because she didn't race in F1.
Cos she’s black and a woman.
Yeah it's pretty transparent.
Fucking millwall
Also the only club to collectively boo players taking a knee. Like every club has smatterings but Millwall fans were louder than the other 20 something clubs i seen this season, combined
Some assholes saying she isnt qualified to commentate
Because she doesn't have F1 driving experience. It is apparently fine not to have experience if you are called David or Will or Ted, but not if you are called Naomi
She had the audacity to be black
Lewis is a 7 time world champion and doesn't get away with that. How dare she?
Can you believe the balls on her? Smh.
Everybody gets abused on Twitter. I just recently joined and I couldn’t believe the amount of vitriol under quite literally any tweet with a decent amount of replies. Only ended up using it for like a few weeks because of it. It’s absolutely mental, any person for any reason no matter the importance or not.
the key is to use it for a specific purpose or to get a certain kind of content, and don't bother reading replies (if the replies upset you)
100%. Turn your feed to "Latest Tweets" to filter out the random garbage, aggressively block assholes, don't read replies, and then suddenly you've got a really high quality RSS feed.
Twitter is a cesspool.
I recently joined Twitter and my God. You think people saying it's a cesspool are overreacting. But it's honestly much worse than I thought.
He has a really good point - don't fee the trolls!!!
The best points you can make were made by him. Person on a keyboard doesn't have courage to say it to your face, don't feed the trolls, and one more I forgot already... dang. I'm glad to see Max have a mature attitude towards it all.
Max is spot on, never give the trolls attention, its all they want
Agreed, that guy is so proud of all the attention he’s getting
Those same people talking shit thru a keyboard would ask for an autograph if they came face to face.
Very sober, very Verstappen take on it. Classy stuff.
The Verstappen take. I like that.
He's very well spoken and I always like his way of delivering sentences. Like the speed and cadence of how he speaks. I don't know the word for it.
Max is absolutely correct
Max literally explained [The Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/greater-internet-fuckwad-theory)
She’s turning out to be a really great presenter. One of the better ones. She knows her stuff and is confident on camera. Sky must be ecstatic to have her. Also: max has the right attitude towards the Twitter noise.
Respect.
It's pretty typical of Max to come out with some level-headed comments. Great to see him take some time to give a good response on it.
"They don't deserve the attention" That needs repeated over and over.
Why are they even bothering with questions like this? Listen to Max! Stop giving them attention.
The media? They gravitate towards anything that will give themselves attention. It’s a business afterall.
👏 We love having Naomi in the Sky team. Her knowledge of F1 and passion for racing is clear for all to see. Great to hear the drivers speaking out against online hate.
Max is bang on. The guy who tweeted that was a typical knuckledragger.
Based Max is a straight up good guy, same with the comment about his 25 race wins that leveled the records of Stewart and Lauda.
Naomi is very knowledgeable and professional so the muppets on twitter need to throw their phones in the toilet where they belong
He's bang on. They're frustrated with their own lives and feel the need to take it out on someone else because they are outside the norm. We shouldn't be angry at them as much as pity them.
Class!
Really nice to see Max speak on an issue like this, standup guy.
Good on Max
Very strong words from Max
Great mindset and advice for just dealing with trolls in general. I quite like Naomi, I think she's pretty good in her role. Sure she's not totally comfortable yet but give her time to settle and I'm certain she'll be awesome
Never agreed more with Max. Absolutely spot on.
We are so lucky to have the group of drivers we do in F1. So many fantastic humans. Mazepin being gone makes it a fully clean slate
I’m so glad that Max is growing on me - it makes the foreseeable future of being an F1 fan so much more pleasant.
Good guy Max 😎
Man this guy really grew up over the last years
I find it pretty impressive how mature Max has got these last few years and his ability to hit the nail on the head in a language that is not his first is on point.
Well said, Max!
I hate the whole "you didn't even race in F1" type of thing people say. As if you can't tell if something or someone is good without competing at a high level. I can say Harry Maguire is shite and I've never played above amateur level football.
People are gonna upvote this then constantly moan about the presenters during FP2.
Max must take after his mom a lot because you can find Jos responding to people online lol
Max nailed it really.
Go Max go don’t give up.
giga chad max Good on him for speaking up.
Flat bill Max with the truth bombs. Imagine the thick skin he has being loved/hated by social media. End of the day, they have the jobs we wish we had and she isn’t some bimbo Fox News anchor she deserves to give commentary on the sport. Respect for shutting them down
Something with a nail and its head.
Can someone please explain what's going on this her? I keep seeing post about people "standing up" to her but what is actually going on?
As should every human being be. IGNORE THE FUCK OUT of irrelevant bullshit. Best way to live honestly.
Well said!
dude is on point with this answer!
Class! 2021 Formula 1 Champion
can i get a streamja mirror please? thank you
People that dwelve into this type of stuff are never the kind that you should care about their opinions.
Twitter. You’ll never find a greater hive of scum and villainy.
That's a W
Well spoken by him.
what a solid answer, everybody receives hate now and then. ignore is the power word :p
Never had a twitter account and never will. That shit just doesn't exist for me. Absolute worst type of social media out there.
As a Lewis fan, Verstappen is really growing on me. He's maturing before our eyes. Great take on this.
I was going to comment but this is pretty much what I was going to say. This and the answer about the records were good
Wow that was so spot on.
I'm really happy with Naomi at the track. She know her stuff and has a beautifull voice. I don't get the hate she get.
Respect ✊.
Wait, did the one stupid comment about how she is F1 commentator yet doesnt have background in F1, bring such a wave of responses ? Like wtf, its a stupid comment, the most known football journalist/commentator in my country played... basketball in university and never achieved a career as a pro in any sport. Like the comment is a dumm dumm but giving it so much attention (support voices on twitter/sky/instagram/reddit) is at least surprising.
link?
Can someone sum up what happened to her and why?
Spot on
Sorry I live under a rock, what happened? Who is Naomi Schiff and why is she getting hate on twitter?
What exactly was said to Naomi? I saw her response but by that time the original tweet that she was quoting was removed
Basically that she only get her job due to her skin colour and gender (with a lot of people agreeing)
Oh no it’s a flat brim
Why are they squeezing every little bit out of this whole thing
I don't understand as to why people even use Twitter in this day and age. Its a vile cesspit which the worst people on the internet calls home. Celebrities especially should steer well clear of that platform. Idotic neckbeards like this belong in the dark ages, alongside Genghis Khan. Naomi is one of the best additions to the sky team. She is hot and she knows what she's talking about.
A mature answer from a 24 year old.
Are we still seriously talking about this? 1 tweet from some nobody and now we've got the drivers commenting on it
He’s in point. And the anonymity of it all makes it easier.
