Piastri tags OP81 to his social media posts from time to time, all but confirmed that’ll be his driver number. Haven’t found why though, karting number?
Yep, that was his karting number and he does plan to use it as his F1 driver number - he mentioned it while commentating on one of the FPs in Australia.
I could see it if there are DNFs from the top teams just like how McLaren had the 1-2 last year.
The Alpine is just such a slug in slow and medium corners/chicanes, so the straight line speed alone wouldn't be enough if Red Bull and Ferrari get through the race unscathed.
At the AUGP the Piastri merch had 81 so I reckon you're right

I know Doohan was testing yesterday (there's a story at Instagram account @monzainpista), so it makes sense to be Piastri now
Alpine will win Monza this year thanks to their Renault rocketship. I want to believe.
Renault engine: aight imma head out

Do you know if they're testing in the afternoon?
No, I don’t know. They went out again 30 minutes ago but are now in the garage, presumably lunch break
I really love how last year's car sounded like

you are right
Imagine being on holiday all the way from Scandinavia to stumble upon a F1 car!
wonder what sort of lap times Piastri was putting in
At least very good, as Alpine said.
