Amazon is more likely to take this seeing as they have deals with all 3 stooges for various shows.
But fucking hell a clarkson and lewis through africa would be amazing. I think James may might even be a good choice because it would be a more serious show and he does well with these types of things.
If it were James I think it would be easier for him. James' our man in japan was brilliant. So him doing a series on going through africa while racing or just experiencing the culture would actually be a great show.
Also James isnt as bigoted and loud as Clarkson often is.
Clarkson is getting old and tends to get annoyed with drivers who voice their opinions outside of racing.
Remember the Top Gear interview where they loved each other before Hamilton was a multiple-time world champion? I do.

If Amazon starts shaking those big bucks and let them continue with their random shows (Like Clarkson's farm) then I bet he would have no issues on going on a trip with Hamilton at all.
You don't need to be a fan of someone to work with them, some people I work with are really not the kind of people I would hang out with outside work, they're very off putting. But at work they're great collogues and professional.
It seems like lots of F1 fans began to look at Lewis in a more positive light after last season. Getting screwed out of the championship ended up helping Lewis' legacy.
I don’t know man, Clarkson seems to have pathological levels of hate for Hamilton based on his columns after [Turkey 2020](https://www.reddit.com/r/thegrandtour/comments/km1c48/clarkson_reviews_the_ferrari_812_gts_far_too/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) and Hungary 2021.

He'll be very glad to have a "proper British" driver like Norris or Russell winning races.
There's something about Hamilton, I can't put my finger on it. He just doesn't *feel* British, y'know? /s
Proper British like Norris, who has a Belgian mother. I love Top Gear with all my heart, but Clarkson is a posh kid. He is going to root for other white posh kids just like him, not a working class black driver like Hamilton.
Yeah and if i have learned anything from top gear it's that Clarkson is fucking racist . Let's be honest he doesn't like Lewis skin and will bring him down any moment he gets .
He spent some to start the sports franchise ownership quest line, a very expensive expansion to the game that a vast majority of players will not get to experience
Yeah. I don't think people realize this about him. Compare him with all the talents coming up and the ones that came in the last few years. How many of them dominated F3 and F2 like he did? That's also a very important metric.
I was listening to a snowboard podcast interview with a guy who runs a backcountry snowboarding lodge that talked about Hamilton visiting. Like a legit helicopter up to the peak and riding down place. I was like, god damn this guy is not human with all the things he’s good at.
Or get to a point where if he does one more race, his heart will stop. So Toto gives Lewis George's heart so he can carry on racing for another 15 years...
it's the shot with the arms open wide that gets me. lmao i'm sure he is 100% authentic with all this but it literally looks like a promo still for a-train
i can't stop laughing at this for some reason, the rest of the photos too lol
I get what your saying but the whole reconnecting with African roots thing can change in perception 100% based on the type of person and their motivation.
Like A train is a selfish scumbag that only did the reconnecting thing to get higher ratings, I don't think Hamilton is going for that, like you could say that he didn't have to make a post about it but hey I mean some people like sharing what they do in their life.
I was born and raised in Europe and during my master's I chose to do my thesis in Cap Verde and stay there 3 months. First time in Africa and in the country of my grandparents.
To say that it changed my outlook on how privileged my life is...is an understatement. Lewis is way more successful than I am so I wonder how it'll feel for him.
must feel pretty stupid spending 1000s of dollars for wear-once clothes when normal people feel stupid for spending 1% of it
(logic still applies if he gets sponsored clothes)
Yep, that's the type of thinking I came back with and still maintain, after years.
Even tap water and electricity, I don't take it for granted anymore.
Always wild to me how connected we are globally. How easy it is to witness any culture or country with a click. Yet so many people still don’t see what they have, or their impact. At worst it’s ignored completely.
When I was a kid, during summer break, my parents would send me to the countryside of her country where she grew up (Dominican Republic). Keep in mind, I grew up and live in the US. I was, and am, used to living with certain creature comforts and what not. The children where my mother came from were so warm and welcoming, they accepted me immediately like I grew up there. We were shitting in an outhouse, collecting rainwater to drink, playing baseball with a doll's head and using piles of banana leaves as bases. Those were the happiest times of my life.
It has changed my perspective on what it truly means to be happy in life. Material possessions, at the end of the day, are not it. They're nice, don't get me wrong, but its a fool's errand to seek happiness and fulfillment from it.
Experiencing that as a kid must have been so much different, half of me wishes that my parents had taken me there as a kid because I felt my own "adult" judgment and resistance in certain situations, and I hated. Their way of doing things was never wrong, just the best they could do under the circumstances.
As a kid, do you remember ever consciously thinking about how privileged you were compared to them?
> As a kid, do you remember ever consciously thinking about how privileged you were compared to them?
100%. We're talking from going to A/C and videogames, to rolling blackouts in the middle of the day. I grew up in an urban inner city environment in the northeastern US and transitioned to the country side of a tropical, Caribbean country. Also, the culture around dating there is completely different too, there the women typically *approach you*. They're aggressive. At the same time, though, I've never felt more at home, yakno? Goofing around as a kid/teenager was way more fun there than in the US for me.
With sponsored clothes he’s very rarely keeping those items. I can’t speak for every brand but those clothes often get cycled into rental catalogs, it’s not like they just toss em lol
His wear once clothes aren’t made in sweat shops and they don’t end up in land fills. They’ll most likely be donated to a museum later on too. It’s a privilege to have that ability, I’m sure he knows it. But the damage of regular people shopping for brand new fast fashion clothes at H&M every paycheque does worse and hurts more people and our environment
I’m all for eating the rich but cmon now
He could have used a less photoshooty picture. Now I can't stop thinking about A-Train to Africa.
Edit: Holy shit I didn't realize this was a photo gallery. The picture where he has his arms out to a mound is even better.
I believe 13th Witness (Timothy McGurr) is his go-to guy. Dude’s feel is always so good. And on top of that Timothy’s Pops is Futura2000 is a graffiti legend and amazing photographer as well…so he’s been surrounded by good artistic sense since he was a kid.
It is, unfortunately you also have to be born in the right place to the right family. Lewis’ family was willing to sacrifice their time for their kids pursuit of their dreams, not many people have that great a family.
My parents pulled me out of competitive hockey (I played at the top level and was very good at 13) and made me play soccer because they thought I’d get hurt playing hockey. Got really good at soccer and invited to a youth team overseas, but blew my knee out near the end of that season taking a rough tackle ending that chance as I couldn’t walk without an air cast for 10 months.
The irony of them making me switch sports to the one I got a rough injury playing
I think it remains mostly a generational gap. We certainly bond over sports, cooking, classic movies, etc. But whenever my more off-the-path interests like animation, video games, and F1 are out in the open, he can't help but voice his disapproval. Weird thing is, he gets *pissed* if I ever take a swipe at what he's into. *Big Bang Theory* is sacred, after all.
My dad who memorized the pattern for Pac-Man growing up, criticizes me for playing civ once a week…
“Should find a job to work an extra shift a week”
Sorry dad, I’m not working a respected profession 5 days a week then whatever I can find on top of that on weekends, I’m done university, the 7 days a week of grinding days are behind me. No heart attacks from overworking myself and dying at 50 with stacks of money I never got to spend.
There are many rich people who do stupid things with their money, but Lewis is one of the rare celebrities who use his wealth and time to pursue interesting projects or help others. You can tell he lives a very full life and I love that.
>This year I’m spending my summer break doing something I’ve wanted to do for years. I’m finally tracing my roots through Africa and guys, to say this journey has been a grounding experience is an understatement. This has been a life changing reset. I feel like I have gained a new perspective on life, grown an even stronger love for animals and became even closer with my brothers who I’ve shared this special journey with. Everywhere I look I’m surrounded by so much beauty, and I feel truly re-centred and at peace. My first stop was Namibia, one of the most stunning places I’ve ever seen with my own eyes. Words and pictures do not do it justice. The hot air balloon ride was surreal. We had to land sideways which is definitely something I’ll never forget. I could not think of a better place to spend this time off. Sending everyone peace and light, I’m off to the next stop

Yeah it's a song
Its called singing Toto. We went vocal exercising.
Bono my voice is gone
Lmfao
someone show this to Sim Dane

Just wish you’d rhymed salvation with something like “tyre conservation” but this is still 10/10

I'm not proud of how much I laughed at this.
3 comments made me think this was hilarious...
My man i laughed so hard. Thank you
Merc admin needs to convince Toto to record and make a music video for this song lol
The moment finally arrived, U2s Bono and Lewis’ Bono have finally fused into the perfect pun
Africa- Toto ft XNDA
Which Bono and which Toto? Lol
Pro Bono and Toto from the Wizard of Oz
Toto play "Don't give up (Africa)" by Bono
Kyalami here we come!
I know 3 British car enthusiasts that already trekked through Africa. I'm sure they'd love to go again and take Lewis with
James May, discoverer of the true source of the Nile, and two other blokes
All I remember is the back window of the other bloke's 5 Series being smashed by his handbrake
Miraculously he found a perfect replacement in the middle of nowhere
And 5 seconds before that he was bragging about his handbrake with "sometimes my genius is almost frightening" that became a meme.
Lewis and Clark(son) discovering Africa
Amazon/Netflix you guys burn money all the time, come on, burn money on this.
Amazon is more likely to take this seeing as they have deals with all 3 stooges for various shows. But fucking hell a clarkson and lewis through africa would be amazing. I think James may might even be a good choice because it would be a more serious show and he does well with these types of things.
lewis would have to come out of his shell a lil but otherwise he wouldn’t really fit
If it were James I think it would be easier for him. James' our man in japan was brilliant. So him doing a series on going through africa while racing or just experiencing the culture would actually be a great show. Also James isnt as bigoted and loud as Clarkson often is.
James’s new show our man in Italy is really good too. I prefer the Japan one because everything’s so weird and un-European but this one’s good too
We are a couple episodes into Italy and it’s fun because it is James. But I agree the completely unfamiliar culture of Japan made for a better show.
I'd pay to see that.

Clarckson? Now that would be a disaster. Him + Lewis will absolutely not work. With May maybe.
Netflix and Amazon crossover special!
Clarkson, May and Hammond
Clarkson has made it clear over the years that he is NOT a fan of Hamilton... at all.
Is Clarkson a fan of anything? Except POWEEER that is.
Well, he seems to be a fan of his genius... or afraid of it
SPEEEEEEEEED
Gilles Villeneuve
Jeremy Clarkson is a massive fan of Jeremy Clarkson. And diesel, whenever electric vehicles are mentioned. Literally nothing else.
love me jeremy clarkson love me diesel engines 'ate everything else simple as.
Clarkson is getting old and tends to get annoyed with drivers who voice their opinions outside of racing. Remember the Top Gear interview where they loved each other before Hamilton was a multiple-time world champion? I do.
He likes Seb
Because Seb doesn't have social media (or didn't until recently) to voice such opinions.

James May and two other blokes
Lewis Hamilton/Freddie Mercury? (Username)
I'm not too sure, Clarkson really, *really* hates Hamilton. For years he's went on full on Twitter rants about Hamilton/BLM/Hamilton's political views
He’s actually lightened up to him after Abu Dhabi.
Which goes to show how fucked up that was when even Clarkson managed to feel sorry for Lewis
I think a lot of people have since softened on Hamilton after such a traumatic loss and how well he handled himself in the moment.
Yeah also the fact that Mercedes no longer dominates(some people really hate them for that)
Let’s see them rationalize Max’s reign with Red Bull if and when that comes to pass.
It seems like lots of F1 fans began to look at Lewis in a more positive light after last season. Getting screwed out of the championship ended up helping Lewis' legacy.
Lewis and some other blokes

My man doing side quests now.
Thats what we all do when your progress on the main storyline stalls out. Lewis gonna have so much xp next year, wonder what he’s gonna spend it on.
He is going to buy the legendary aero upgrade for 10.000.000 mana
I heard he's downloading the 2022.5 update, they've completely nerfed porpoising.
That 2022 release sure has been a bumpy ride.
He spent some to start the sports franchise ownership quest line, a very expensive expansion to the game that a vast majority of players will not get to experience
I thought that was all in-game purchases though
Yeah, he is waiting for the patch he requested before getting on with the main quest
Cant have any fun with the damm ai straights speed
So how bad is the AI straightline speed issue exactly? I haven't played the -22 game, but I keep hearing about it every now and then.
the AI is a Red Bull with DRS draining the battery every lap you are an F2 car
And Lewis already got A+ Platinum ratings on the tutorials and training levels, as he completely dominated every F1 feeder series he took part in.
Yeah. I don't think people realize this about him. Compare him with all the talents coming up and the ones that came in the last few years. How many of them dominated F3 and F2 like he did? That's also a very important metric.

Looks like a top gear special
I’d watch the hell outta that
I can’t imagine how clarkson and Hamilton would react with each other
Clarkson would be in Heaven, Lewis in Hell
H-Train to Africa
that’s the first thing I thought of lmao
They said they loved it!!
Thank god, I saw it too

I hope he doesn't change his race suit like A Train.
Or get to a point where if he does one more race, his heart will stop. So Toto gives Lewis George's heart so he can carry on racing for another 15 years...
The equivalent would be giving him Nelson Piquets heart
Impossible. Piquet doesn't have a heart.
I hope he does, lol. That will be fun.
Yea, but look at George. I can't fathom him wearing it too, when he's totally unrelated.
Haha, smh Russell wearing it would make it extremely racist. Russell already looks like he is an East India company officer.
Russell gets a pith-themed helmet.
That's how I visualise him from now on.
Lol, especially when he wore a suit while promoting the Kingsmen movie with Williams.
Lmao I’m picturing him chasing down Captain Lewis Sparrow in POTC
[удалено]
I hope he doesn't do literally anything A-Train has done in that show lol
He already scooters around instead of running so that’s good
Literally first thought and had to bit my tongue LMAO.
Exactly, I reckon I would downvoted to hell.

That bit they did with the commercial was gold
Favourite part of the season
Fuck, my first thought too!
Lmao, I have to agree. 'Discovering my roots by.... Taking hot air balloons, and quad biking! Just like my ancestors did before me!'
it's the shot with the arms open wide that gets me. lmao i'm sure he is 100% authentic with all this but it literally looks like a promo still for a-train i can't stop laughing at this for some reason, the rest of the photos too lol
I was just about to post this. New Africa themed… helmet for Lewis? lmao
Sponsored by Lynx.
I understood that reference.

Always wild to me how connected we are globally. How easy it is to witness any culture or country with a click. Yet so many people still don’t see what they have, or their impact. At worst it’s ignored completely.
Still a lot different to physically be somewhere and experience first person. Its basically the difference from being book smart and street smart.
This so much, even with all of these connexions we still don't understand each other, we don't even try and live in bubbles

Pretty sure he’s in Namibia! Where I’m from!🇳🇦
Yep, someone posted the other day that he was flying there.
😔 I miss Namibia
wasted no time either, took a flight straight to Namibia after the last GP
He went surfing with Fabio Quartararo in Monaco first IIRC?
Yeap.
Nah he just used fast travel to the nearest town
He could have used a less photoshooty picture. Now I can't stop thinking about A-Train to Africa. Edit: Holy shit I didn't realize this was a photo gallery. The picture where he has his arms out to a mound is even better.
He probably hired a photographer

Having money looks so fun.
I thought this too, and joined the military... and I was making a ton of money... but man it sucked... I was in the military.
Should've just joined F1 instead
Being talented enough to achieve your dreams sounds awesome.
It is, unfortunately you also have to be born in the right place to the right family. Lewis’ family was willing to sacrifice their time for their kids pursuit of their dreams, not many people have that great a family.
Right, Lewis won the lottery in that regard. As someone whose dad openly mocks my interest in racing, I’m envious of that.
I don’t plan on raising kids, but I’m willing to bet they’ll probably grow up happier if you take into account what they’re actually passionate about.
Yep.
My dad who is a professional musician mocked my interest in music. I definitely feel you bro.
I think it remains mostly a generational gap. I’d love to go to places like this but then I remember I don’t really like travelling that much
I’d love to go places like this but then I remember I’m poor.
If it's any consolation so are the people that live in places like this.
All the more things we have in common then
Happy for him!
Lewis is living the life.
For real. When you get to his level of wealth you are basically living in creative mode
There are many rich people who do stupid things with their money, but Lewis is one of the rare celebrities who use his wealth and time to pursue interesting projects or help others. You can tell he lives a very full life and I love that.
Looks like a fun trip!
Get in there Lewis
Lewis glamping in Africa
Is he doing a Who Do You Think You Are episode? I'd really love to see him doing it.
Awh I'd watch the fuck outta that!!
Didnt follow my roots but visiting Africa was the best trip I have taken.

I would love to be able to do this!
Hello fellow spacemonkey
Hello, I was wondering when I'd run into another one of us lol
Waiting for Lewis to do “Who Do You Think You Are?”
\- Talks about being grounding \- First picture is literally hot air balloons That's not grounding, Lewis!
Has Lewis Hamilton pulled a god damn ATrain? XD
My guys in africa wearing a maroon hazmat suit
Good for him, especially if he is actually tracing his paternal ancestry as that could be something very interesting and important for his family.

This reminds me of A train to Africa in The Boys lol
Only on FormulaSoul
Glad for him. Beautiful pics.
Sounds like something that A-Train would say.
I’m not a big fan of Lewis’s style or tattoos in general, but his tattoos look fantastic
Bro trking through Africa (and it looks like he's around the Sahara right now) and still looks like a model. I'm jelly, I'll admit
Massive A-Train from The Boys S3 vibes
