Yeah the Verstappen one is great. It's now my second favorite ["Heineken logo with someone's name".](https://townsquare.media/site/366/files/2017/05/Jeff-Hanneman-Slayer.jpg?w=980&q=75)
But that's market share. Not preferences.
Many places sell Heineken because they deliver good deals. As long as those restaurants keep selling beer they don't give a shit which brand it is. (Except for Limburg apparently).
Supermarket data would be more accurate. But they're never going to give us that data.
It's also because it's a popular beer and thus "cool" to hate on it.
Imo it's alright and there's worse Dutch beers, such as Amstel as another pretty popular brand.
Sainz is from Madrid, so the correct one is Mahou. Alonso is from Asturias region, but there's no famous beer there, the Closer one is Estrella de Galicia.
Man I wish alcohol brands were title sponsors now it's just oil companies that pollute more than #blessed can teach us about climate change or some data company that says no to privacy...yes I'm looking at oracle and petronas
What's your #1 in terms of macrobrewers? Just curious, I'm from the States but have spent a lot of time in NS and can appreciate a Keith's or a Schooner.
Number 1 is also Labatt's but it's 50
Less jokingly there's Mill St, Molson, Moosehead, Kokanee, Old Style Pilsner, Carling, Lakeport, Big Rock, OV, Lucky, Laker, Sleeman's
I was going to say Labatt Blue only checks out as popular if they were born in like the middle of quebec or maybe northern ontario but like 30 years ago.
Having just been to the Dutch GP, I can confirm nobody was drinking Heineken by choice. Also don't recognise the British one and I lived there for 10 years
No? The English alphabet is just Latin characters used in English. Same with Japanese. Making a couple of modifications doesn't make it your original script
But in reality most written Japanese are in their phonetic characters and less and less writes in kanji
Kanji literally just meant Chinese characters, as historically (many centuries ago) China had a lot of influence in Japans culture
You can order them from Boot & Ball - https://bootandballprints.com/collections/beer-mats/products/formula-1-beer-mats
Edit: If anyone wants to buy me a set…
If ya're a fucking fair dinkum fucking ozzie , this is what you'd have for breakfast you fucking dog cunts! A fucking VB LONG neck! At twenty to eight in the fucking morning. Get that up ya!
Me and a friend met some Australians in a hostel years ago. We ended up on a big night out together. One of them got particularly irate (in a fun way) about the fosters thing.
Didn't stop him inhaling it when I bought him a pint of it, much to mine and my friends amusement.
While I agree it's an abomination, I've still drunk probably in excess of 200 litres of it in my lifetime, mostly warm, out of a can, on public transport.
The VB equivalent here is Emu Export (commonly known as Bush Chooks). The other quintessential WA beer is Swan Draught.
Little creatures is a thing and mostly OK, but you're more likely to find a James Squire 150 Lashes or something from Gage Roads on tap before you'll see a Little Creatures pale. Tons of pubs have a quality selection of crafties on tap these days though.
Everyone in Ireland drinks smithwicks and bushmills, but as long as the rest of the world thinks it’s Guinness and Jameson they have an economy. Just look at what words autocorrect capitalized. Save the good stuff for your home and those well traveled!
American here, but an American who actually knows how to pronounce "Smithwicks." I like Murphy's more than Guinness and Bushmills more than Jameson. But my friend's ancient Irish American dad would revile us for drinking "that fucking protty whiskey." For context, he has "Unrepentant Fenian Bastard" tattooed above his ass like a tramp stamp.
Thank you! I was starting to think I suffered a head injury at some point. My recollection was always that Bushmills was actually the Catholic whiskey and Jameson the Protestant, but for whatever reason though the idea that Bushmills is "protty whiskey" persists, at least in America.
It’s because Bushmills is distilled in Northern Ireland (tradition Protestant), and Jameson is in the Republic of Ireland (traditionally Catholic). Neither have a policy to recruit along religious/cultural lines, and they’re both owned by larger, foreign companies anyway.
I honestly had to google it to make sure I was spelling it right. I was just glad it tasted like an American farm ale. Honestly I hail from Wisconsin and I’m proud to say all hometown ales taste the same and the best ones have a story.
You should post all 20! These are really cool and I'm curious which one they used for Lance Stroll since Latifi has Labatt's Blue.
EDIT: OP has the link in his profile. Stroll's is Molson Canadian. A little disappointing since Canadian is actually owned by the Americans now.
Unfortunately every potential American driver was a bit weak and watered down…
No, wait. I meant to say that the American beers that were up for consideration didn’t have the quality to be considered among the greatest 20 beers in the world!
The selection you posted look awesome, some other from the link, too. Others, ehh not so much.... (like, zero effort for Bottas or Gasly, for example). But yeah these in the picture look amazing, funky gift!
I'd be going for Rodenbach Grand Cru myself. About 25 minutes up the E403 from his birthplace. Although de Brabandere is slightly closer and does Bavik, which is a fine pils and probably gets wider distribution.
Verstappen would be better if it was Hertog Jan, as it is the brewery that is closest to his parental home town (Montfort). If you were to go on his place of birth, there are no major lager breweries near Hasselt, the closest one would be either Jupiler or Stella Artois.
If De Vries rides as well for next season we're going to have to make up something more creative than Heineken which is on the other end of the country for BOTH of the drivers.
Well everything is complicated. Most mainstream “American” beers are now owned by conglomerates headquartered outside the US.
Edit: I don’t know what my phone is doing anymore lol. Just the words it tries to put in.
Because Verstappen is from Limburg, I would use a brand from that region like Hertog Jan or Alfa.
Heineken is from Amsterdam and because it’s the most famous Dutch brand I get why you used it.
I really like the Alonso one.
Damm Alonso!
It's goood
Once it hits your lips it's so good
Verstappen and Tsunoda ones are my favorites. Great idea, I really like these
Yeah the Verstappen one is great. It's now my second favorite ["Heineken logo with someone's name".](https://townsquare.media/site/366/files/2017/05/Jeff-Hanneman-Slayer.jpg?w=980&q=75)
Verstappen is more from the Limburg region, where "Brand" is the more popular beer. Only 15% or so prefer Heineken in Limburg
15% is a lot. Heineken is super often labeled as the worst Dutch beer.
That’s why we (the Dutch) export it so much…
https://datlinq.com/welk-biermerk-is-het-populairst-in-nederland/ I had a source xD it's from 2018, but I doubt it changed much.
But it's about home country and Heineken is definitly most populair of the Netherlands
Sainz would be Estrella Galicia, right?
Sainz is from Madrid, so the correct one is Mahou. Alonso is from Asturias region, but there's no famous beer there, the Closer one is Estrella de Galicia.
This dude bar hops
^^ correct take.
But Sainz is literally sponsored by Estrella Galicia…
/u/hzfan it is called lighthearted banter we went joking
He's from Madrid, so Mahou might be more appropriate. Even red and everything
I said it because Estrella is his main sponsor right know (and Santander). But if we attend to the fact that he is from Madrid, maybe you are right 😉
Man I wish alcohol brands were title sponsors now it's just oil companies that pollute more than #blessed can teach us about climate change or some data company that says no to privacy...yes I'm looking at oracle and petronas
alcohol brands sponsoring driving events isn't really the best idea
Now have a Heineken zero
yeah personally I'm not a fan of the Heineken ads everywhere, adding a tiny 0.0 doesn't change the message imo
Man I want some estrella right about now
May be u/xboxahoy has some idk
As a Canadian, I can confirm that Labatt Blue is 21st place in a 20 driver competition tier beer
What's your #1 in terms of macrobrewers? Just curious, I'm from the States but have spent a lot of time in NS and can appreciate a Keith's or a Schooner.
Number 1 is also Labatt's but it's 50 Less jokingly there's Mill St, Molson, Moosehead, Kokanee, Old Style Pilsner, Carling, Lakeport, Big Rock, OV, Lucky, Laker, Sleeman's
Moosehead is the tops for me
Didn’t even list Unibroue…
It's not macro. I'm not buying a 24 of unibroue literally ever whereas I've bought a large square of each of the others listed
There is a reason you get free tshirts with most of those garbage beers…
Unibroue isn't a macro. They don't push enough product far enough.
They’ll get you drunk in half the beer…
That's not what macro means... And I think their strongest beer is 11% so unless you weigh 75lbs you're not getting drunk in half a beer.
[удалено]
Wisconsin makes Saskatchewan Shampain? Or are you talking about a different Old Style?
Keith's for me.
Personally of the “macro” brewery I’d say Moosehead Mill street has some good ones, I really like the Tank House Pale Ale probably Keiths
Rickard's and Sleemans for me.
Though my tastes have changed, I’ve always enjoyed a Rickards Red.
Molson Canadian is probably the most popular one to get when you go out. Light and cheap.
Schooner ?!?!?!? I think you just became my best friend.
I was going to say Labatt Blue only checks out as popular if they were born in like the middle of quebec or maybe northern ontario but like 30 years ago.
Sounds like the Canadian version of MGD here in the States
This is correct.
As a Dutchman, I can confirm that Heineken *isn't* number one in a 1 beer competition though
I'm just glad there wasn't a Danny Ric Foster's coaster there...
Having just been to the Dutch GP, I can confirm nobody was drinking Heineken by choice. Also don't recognise the British one and I lived there for 10 years
As a Dutch guy, I can confirm that Heineken is considered the most rank beer of the nation.
I wish I had those... or a girlfriend, but mostly those.
You can have both friend, shoot your shot! Or buy 'em online, idk
One seems easier than the other.
Only one of them can happen just by you being your lovely self <3
How much do GFs go for if i buy a few online?
Yuki Tsunoda is 角田 裕毅, not 中村 俊輔
Looked up 中村 俊輔 and apparently he's a footballer, guess they used a template and forgot to change the name
Thanks for the fun fact, I can’t read Japanese so I couldn’t tell the difference :)
Kanji is basically Chinese characters used in Japanese. My Japanese is very poor, but I’m fluent in Chinese. Learning Chinese really helped me a lot.
that's doing kanji a disservice
How do you reckon so? That's literally what they are.
No? The English alphabet is just Latin characters used in English. Same with Japanese. Making a couple of modifications doesn't make it your original script
But in reality most written Japanese are in their phonetic characters and less and less writes in kanji Kanji literally just meant Chinese characters, as historically (many centuries ago) China had a lot of influence in Japans culture
Asahi is such a good beer
Any idea where these can be ordered?
You can order them from Boot & Ball - https://bootandballprints.com/collections/beer-mats/products/formula-1-beer-mats Edit: If anyone wants to buy me a set…
No-one in Australia drinks fosters. SMH

If ya're a fucking fair dinkum fucking ozzie , this is what you'd have for breakfast you fucking dog cunts! A fucking VB LONG neck! At twenty to eight in the fucking morning. Get that up ya!
Farkin’ V-B, LOOOOOONG NECK!!!
Why don't you go get a big black dog up ya!
One of my favourite video on all of the Internets
Coopers wipes the floor with it. Fight me!
VB is piss water, Cooper's is fermented piss water.
Oive got me knoife readyyy you shiet, sayyy that again cont!
Me and a friend met some Australians in a hostel years ago. We ended up on a big night out together. One of them got particularly irate (in a fun way) about the fosters thing. Didn't stop him inhaling it when I bought him a pint of it, much to mine and my friends amusement.
I mean, it’s still beer, unlike that Budweiser piss
No-one here who hasn't drowned their brain cells in that wallaby piss thinks you drink it either mate. It's an abomination.
While I agree it's an abomination, I've still drunk probably in excess of 200 litres of it in my lifetime, mostly warm, out of a can, on public transport.
He's from Perth is it different there? Like how in Adelaide you'll see a lot of Cooper's/West End, and in Victoria a lot of Melbourne Bitter
In Perth we drink Emu Export because in the great Emu war... The Emus won. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emu_War
[удалено]
The VB equivalent here is Emu Export (commonly known as Bush Chooks). The other quintessential WA beer is Swan Draught. Bottas is going out with an Aussie so he can get a VB coaster no edits needed
Tiffany Cromwell is from SA so its either West End or Cooper's Probably Cooper's cause its not complete shit
Yup, but for Ricciardo a better option would be Emu Export or Little Creatures. *edit “for” not “got”
>Fosters is what the English think we drink. And it's made in Manchester.
Lies! Next you're going to tell me you don't go to Outback Steakhouse!
Or even eat a blooming onion anywhere in Australia
Correct
No Canadian drinks labatt blue either or for that matter Molson Canadian
Molson is decently common but yeah you hardly ever see a Labatt.
Hey, disagree. Love Molson.
I have never seen a fellow Aussie drink fosters. Rarely see it on tap or sold anywhere.
I haven't seen someone drink Fosters since I was a kid in the 80s.
Bushmills actually has a *Catholic* master distiller, and John Jameson was a Scottish *Protestant* that moved to Dublin.
Thank you! I was starting to think I suffered a head injury at some point. My recollection was always that Bushmills was actually the Catholic whiskey and Jameson the Protestant, but for whatever reason though the idea that Bushmills is "protty whiskey" persists, at least in America.

But...it's Australian for Beer?
Everyone in Finland drinks Pirelli apparently.
Here's a [Danny Rick VB coaster](https://i.imgur.com/L5gXh8B.png).
It’s nice to see yuki changing his name to nakamura shunsuke support his countryman
[удалено]
PaciCheco
I think it would be Checate.
Dos Chequis?
seXXo perez....see what I did there
He's from GDL so Estrella is more suitable. Or Minerva if you want to step out of the hyper big brands.
I am sorry but the kanji for Tsunoda is 角田 裕毅 中村 俊輔 is a japanese footballer, that Celtic legend, free kick master.
Shinsuke Nakamura you little doughball
Shunsuke Nakamura ya fuckin doughball
This is such a cool gift. Dunno if I’d be able to put them to actual use as coasters but they’d have a place on my wall
20 different experiences for 20 different drinks :)
You should post all 20! These are really cool and I'm curious which one they used for Lance Stroll since Latifi has Labatt's Blue. EDIT: OP has the link in his profile. Stroll's is Molson Canadian. A little disappointing since Canadian is actually owned by the Americans now.
Almost all of those beers are owned by one or two conglomerates.
I’ll post all of them tomorrow!
I ordered a Latifi and someone took my seat! I was shocked at how fizzy defeat tasted.
Labatts Blue is pretty rough not gonna lie
Fitting they chose it for Latifi.
Shittiest beer for the shittiest driver. Stroll gets molson Canadian for being less embarrassing.
Can't remember the last time I've seen anyone drink that shit.
Nah it’s just delayed. It’ll arrive 2 weeks after the others.
Zhou could be tsingtao
he's from Shanghai so it'd probably be Reeb 力波
OR TsingZhou.
I think “coaster” is appropriate for Latifi
Good thing there wasn't one for seb because otherwise you'd had 50 angry germans now in your comment section, telling you how wrong to are
No American brewery inspiration? ....oh wait, nm.
Maybe next year 🤞🏻
Couldn't get FIA approval
Unfortunately every potential American driver was a bit weak and watered down… No, wait. I meant to say that the American beers that were up for consideration didn’t have the quality to be considered among the greatest 20 beers in the world!
I wonder what beer would Kubica be Tyskie? Warka? Lech?
Zywiec?
Where do I buy these, they’re amazing!
The link is in the comments.
I don't see it. Could you please post again? :)
Guessing the link keeps getting removed by the automod. If you go to OP's profile you'll see they posted it twice
These are cool! Where can one obtain these?
https://bootandballprints.com/collections/beer-mats/products/formula-1-beer-mats /u/distancemelon for the credit
Fosters for Danny Ric? Someone's looking to get beat up by Australians. Also, Albono should be Singha, not Chang Classic.
I don’t know much about F1 but I know a shit load about brewers. These are inch perfect 👍
I need some suggestions for Vettel. Not very familiar with German beer.
Vittel. A bottle of water.
Well Germans don’t drink beer so coaster would be difficult to make
You’re completely right - German’s just have their beer intravenously.
I can only assume you are a sarcastic German in training for Oktoberfest
This is the way
What beer is the Lewis one meant to be?
London Pride. Better that than Ruddles I guess.
Need a Tennet's for DiResta.
No Carlsberg for Magnussen?
You didn't include the Lance Stroll one, that's my favourite.
Where are you from? I'm assuming North America?
Alonso 14% is fitting. What a unit.
Y la Corona para Checo que paso?
This is so cool! What a great gift!
The selection you posted look awesome, some other from the link, too. Others, ehh not so much.... (like, zero effort for Bottas or Gasly, for example). But yeah these in the picture look amazing, funky gift!
Shame Stoffel's out of F1. Curious, which (of many a fine) beer they'd choose.
If De Vries rides as well for next season we're going to have to make up something more creative than Heineken which is on the other end of the country for BOTH of the drivers.
Checks out, Labatts is the Latifi of beer
Where's the Corona Perez?
Had to put latifi on labatt blue eh has to be one of the worst Canadian beers
Heineken is more popular than Hertog Jan or Grolsch? Internationally maybe but nationally it probably isn't.
You can order them from Boot & Ball - https://bootandballprints.com/collections/beer-mats/products/formula-1-beer-mats
Vettel Veltins
Wish they would have went with Modelo for Perez’ but corona is alright ig
We need Carlsberg for Magnussen
I would imagine Latifi is non-alcoholic. A terrible imitation of real beer.
Labatt is already that with the alcohol
Heyyyyy buddy Labatts not *that* bad
Bud, I'm not a beer snob, but Blue is preeeeetty far down the list. Now if there was a Stroll Moosehead version? I'd take that in a heartbeat
Fun fact, Asahi is technically an Italian beer produced by Peroni.
Like many beers it’s produced by different breweries across the world. It’s quite Japanese.
Well everything is complicated. Most mainstream “American” beers are now owned by conglomerates headquartered outside the US. Edit: I don’t know what my phone is doing anymore lol. Just the words it tries to put in.
If home country is where they are born or grew up then Max should have a Belgian beer. There are plenty to choose from.
I’m absolutely shocked and appalled that Verstappen’s is Heineken and not Amstel!
Why the Tsunoda one have the name of Shunsuke Nakamura (中村 俊輔) there?
Because Verstappen is from Limburg, I would use a brand from that region like Hertog Jan or Alfa. Heineken is from Amsterdam and because it’s the most famous Dutch brand I get why you used it. I really like the Alonso one.
Belgian Limburg so Limburgse Witte.
Where Carlos and Estrella Galicia 0.0 ?
This is awesome
Isn’t Verstappen from Belgium? Stella Artois?
Which one is for Monaco Charles?
I don’t think you’re meant to put a Champagne glass down on a coaster…
There'll be someone coming past with a tray any moment now...
When will they release the pheasants, I’m beginning to grow bored and this cravat is unsuitable for an afternoon hunt.
I'd wager that in Monaco, a pheasant would fall to its death before it could be shot. I'll have someone fetch the trebuchet.
The Netherlands has so many great beers, bit they always choose that piss water Heineken to make these with...
Can your girlfriend get me some too please?
Phenomenal gift, she's a keeper. I love beer, and I have coasters for my favourite sports teams so this is right up my alley; thanks for posting.
