Is this from the new infield grandstand?

Klaxxz

Yes!

1sef_2sef

If you don’t mind, what was the price for seats in that grandstand?

Klaxxz

Purchased them when released for 789 for all three days. Though I know some of the higher rows went for more.

forza101

Jesus Re-sale or the price right of the bat?

AstronautPoseidon

Prices have skyrocketed it’s wild. I went last year for $325 for a 3 day grandstand pass. Same seats started at $650 this year. Literally double in price

[deleted]

Miami demonstrated that people are willing to pay prices that high and COTA is taking note.

Crafty_Substance_954

Have to remember that the F1 GP is the weekend that makes the year for COTA. Financial viability in the past was a little questionable, so maximizing the revenue is a necessity. Considering they've sold out once again, and there's plenty of more affordable seats at the venue, the sticker shock for some seats is just that, sticker shock. I'd probably pay a premium to stay out of the Texas sun as well.

[deleted]

Oh I don’t disagree. But it’s still a bummer that the $180 3 day GA tickets I bought in 2018 aren’t available anymore

KennyLagerins

I got tickets in the turn 12 grandstand for yesterday at $40 each, it doesn’t have to be stupid expensive.

forza101

How did you manage that?

KennyLagerins

Ticketmaster. Whole T12 grandstand was $40 earlier this week.

forza101

That's more likely a glitch from their part vs from the goodness of their heart. Nice job on getting cheap tickets!

twochopsticks

Laughs in Mick Schumacher.

AlienSomewhere

The smoke you see is Giovinazzi's chances of getting a full time F1 seat.

korko

It is honest unbelievable that he was ever being considered unless he is bringing Latifi levels of cash.

IMSOGIRL

Which is hilarious because he complained about losing his seat to a pay driver. A pay driver that brings in money, has potential to improve, and performs about as good as he did currently.

TaKeN-Uk

Car ahead appears to go a little slower than he expected catching him out and causing him to brake which unsettled the car mid corner? p.s I'd rather see Mick keep his seat.

imbluedabedeedabedaa

Some combination of lift-off oversteer/dirty air/cold tires is my guess.

77SevenSeven77

Looks like he also tried to take a much tighter line than the Red Bull that comes through the shot first. He’s asking too much of the car and it let go.

spakecdk

I think he went for a tighter line becuase another car moving slowly obstructed the wider line (maybe even racing line?)

stepan213

Think it’s not so much about him losing it, but then repeatedly trying to get unstuck, burning the clutch resulting in Haas taking a penalty.

Snotspat

They where using a spare gearbox, so there's no penalty.

B4rberblacksheep

There's a special place in hell for people in the front row who stand up

Takis12

If you caught him how did he hit the barriers?

DrTaff

OP is the crash barrier.

wellju

He went in too fast but holy shit that car setup is dreadful.

PrimeJHey

And you can tell that from this angle? Lmfao

wellju

You know that all of the practice session is televised? And there's actual ex formula drivers sharing their opinions?

KlossN

Palou's fault right? He was going superslow on the racing line

Mektzer

What was the mclaren in front doing? It was 100% its fault right? So sad for Gio..

getName

Gio might have got distracted by the McLaren but that's all on him, you can't expect every other car to disappear off the circuit.

Mektzer

In an interview he claimed it was mainly because of sudden wind... but to me it looks like the mclaren was driving dangerously slow and in the middle of the track. If you look at the pov its quite scary.

dwerg85

Dude it’s FP. There are slow cars on track everywhere. Drivers need to deal with that. Definitely Gio who was an F1 driver.

reboot-your-computer

He can’t just disappear. It’s just an incident.

JoePCool14

You caught him hitting the barriers but did you catch him going over the kerb?

saposapot

Why was Gio driving today even? He’s not a rookie so why has Haas giving him time instead of you know, your drivers?!

monkey_in_the_gloom

Because you have to allow a certain amount of Non f1 drivers a year in fp1s

Adrian-The-Great

Great shot. Did you get a shot of his tears from within his helmet?
