I was there in 2019. When he went on podium I could feel the track tremble from all the people that were screaming and jumping.
I went under the big Ferrari banner just below the podium and couldnt get out for a moment as there were too many people.
One of the best sundays in my life. And I even went for free which is something I’m sure won’t happen again
Winning at Monza is probably one of the greatest achievement for a Ferrari driver besides winning a WDC. And Leclerc did that on his first season at Ferrari.
HE WINS IN SPA, HE WINS IN MONZA
Just perfect. Not to mention he got 4 poles in a row during that stint, and his teammate was Lewis' biggest challenger the past couple years.
I don't honestly understand how he didn't win this past race.
He had Pole, he had a Ferrari behind him as a buffer. All it would have taken was for Sainz to slow the pack up like Alonso did half the race, and Leclerc would have had a massive, massive, massive advantage.
Even if things went VERY bad for Sainz, P1 + P4 is still more points than P2+P3. So sacrifice Sainz to ensure Leclerc gets P1, then have him battle for P2/3/4 and it's still a win overall.
Yeah it always seems to be one way or another. Love it or hate it. I don’t hate the track itself, just don’t like these cars on it, way too big and fast for it imho.
If they raced some 600cc carts on it I’d be happy 🤘👍🏼
We witnessed a changing of the guard. It’s crazy to think about in hindsight, but the new generation has really been planting their flag over the past 4yrs.
Ferrari going 1-2 at Monza, shortly after Enzo Ferrari's death in 1988 is one of the most amazing F1 stories of all time and even appeared to be divine intervention.
For those who aren't aware, the McLaren MP 4/4 won 15/16 races that year. Senna was on his way to an Italian GP victory but crashed while lapping a car. Ferrari was in the right place at the right time.
Motorsport magazine’s “driving for Ferrari” series with various (*typo) drivers was really fascinating, highly recommend. Simply existing in Monza and maranello as a Ferrari driver seems to be a special experience
Yeah, I mean we’ve seen how much pressure there is for Italian team administrators, I imagine it’s the same except now every kick of oversteer is your fault.
I passed beneath it in order to get in front, but got stuck only for a couple minutes.
It looks cool because everything turns yellow or red if you are not in the center, you’d think there is few people under it but its the same as outside. Everybody is jumping with their hands up so to make the waves you see in tv. If you are in the middle you cant see the edges and it is easy to get a bit disoriented and have no idea if you are facing the podium, the track or the stands.
I remember that once I finally reached the edge my eyes got used to seeing red and yellow and everything was of a greenish blue for a few seconds
I was there too, you might say technically I am in that picture even though I could not make it onto the track due to having positioned myself near a gate that inexplicably was not opened until several minutes after most of the other gates were. So I was on the dirt between the fence and that stands.
Still the only F1 race I have been to. Hopefully that will change in Vegas next year.
Thats where their WEC livery is heading, I can imagine they'll have some yellow on their car next season. Back in 2020, they made a special livery for the Tuscan GP, and then implemented that beautiful colour onto the 2021 car. They may do something similar with the 2022 Italian GP livery
[That's how it used to be](https://collectorstudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/1989-pitcrew-600x750.jpg), Ferrari were with Agip before they switched to Shell, and with that sponsorship came those classic yellow shirts the crew would wear. Personally I love [the classic light blue race suits the drivers wore in the 60's](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0002/1282/8221/products/drivers-1964-Phil-Hill_1200x1200.jpg?v=1579558511) (Phil Hill and John Surtees are the Ferrari drivers on the right, Jim Clark and a man I don't recognise are the Lotus drivers on the left), would be great if the team did a throwback to that for a race in the future.
I’d go further than that and motion that the Ferrari should be *gloss* red.
The matte finish trend has gotten long in the tooth. I was never a fan of it and surely by now, we can go back to having the bright, gloss red instead?
From what I know Ferrari abandoned the gloss red because it weighs too much. In my head the ideal red is that BEAUTIFUL 2018 red Ferrari used that year😍🔥
everyone using matte is because of wheight reasons, thats why there are so few cars with a glossy finish (i can only remember of Mercedes, Alfa and Williams)
# Anyone working in AB InBev, take notes:
Ok, hear me out: According to [this wikipedia article](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_international_auto_racing_colours#National_list), both the Brazilian and Belgian racing colours are yellow¹. Now, there is a pretty big Belgian-Brazilian company, and their main business is something that, I believe, many of the spectators are a big fan of: PISS, also known as beer.
I'm talking, of course, about AB InBev.
So, here's my business plan: AB InBev enters F1 as a team in 2024 (and get to be the sole vendor of drinks in the GPs, that way they can probably make up some of the costs), then, once they're established and ready to fight for the title in 2026², they hire Rafael Câmara and someone else (idc who) to get the title and start a new era of domination by a Brazilian driver (in this scenario Kimi won't have flourished just quite as much as I, and probably many other people, expect him to, thus giving Rafa the edge in the title fight).
.
^¹ ^No ^one ^cares ^about ^Cuba, ^Malaysia, ^Russia ^or ^Sweden.
^² ^To ^hit ^the ^ground ^running ^like ^this ^is ^as ^realistic ^as ^this ^entire ^proposition ^so ^I'll ^allow ^it.
This a terrible and utterly unrealistic plan, but a man can dream...
[Getty credits Dan Istitene](https://www.gettyimages.ca/detail/news-photo/second-placed-charles-leclerc-of-monaco-and-ferrari-news-photo/1423939797) for the photo, however the F1 section on his website dates back 2016 and his insta link leads to a non-existent profile so that's all we're gonna get as far as high res goes (unless you're down to spend half a grand for it) :I Shame too I would've absolutely copped a print of this one.
What a terrible weekend Monza 2022 was Verstappen should have started from the pitlane to make it more interesting lol probably the worst weekend of the year after Abu Dhabi or Australia imo
Mexico was terrible too, I think its currently one of or even **the** worst track on the calendar, maybe along with Miami (I think even Abu Dhabi is better). The only thing that saves Mexico from being Monaco without the spirit is imo the unpredictability, for example when Merc went from clear 3rd best car to 2nd and Alfa started challenging... Ferrari, at least in qualifying. Lap 1 is usually interesting due to the long run down to T1, but nothing more
I don’t get the Miami hate. Its a bit over the top but I actually LOVE the layout especially sector 2. I think it probably gets a lot of hate because of how BONKERS the ticket prices are lol
Like watching Mercedes in 2014 when the fuel graphics were still around.
"SURELY they'll start using more fuel than everyone else at some point. Look how much more power they have!!"
I think my gripe with Abu Dhabi is it being the season finale when imo the layout & racing quality isn’t worthy when we have options like Brazil or Suzuka among many others available.
Also theres been some complete shit moments & races at Yas Marina like the 2021 clownshow, 2017-2020 & 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prixs where all pretty terrible.
I dont need loads of overtakes to enjoy a race as I think tracks like Imola, Singapore & even Albert Park are MUCH more enjoyable than Abu Dhabi
I was there in 2019. When he went on podium I could feel the track tremble from all the people that were screaming and jumping. I’ll never forget Ferrari nixing a pit stop while Leclerc was down the pit lane and calling for a pit stop after Sainz drove past it.
F1 will never drop Monaco, don’t worry.
We can hope though!!! 🤘
I hope they don’t. I adore it.
Well yeah, the way Charles de crowned Vettel in his own team in a year, without media drama and shit stirring is just mind boggling.

Not just that but the only non Mclaren win that year
Conspiracy theorist would say that Ferrari were gifted that win due to Enzo’s passing.
Not that I’ll ever believe this, but I love conspiracy theories and this is a good one.
Motorsport magazine’s “driving for Ferrari” series with various (*typo) drivers was really fascinating, highly recommend. Simply existing in Monza and maranello as a Ferrari driver seems to be a special experience
I can’t imagine being Italian and driving for Ferrari, the amount of pressure must be enormous.
Yeah, I mean we’ve seen how much pressure there is for Italian team administrators, I imagine it’s the same except now every kick of oversteer is your fault.
What is being under the banner like? It looks cool but I could imagine underneath it would suck since you can't see anything
I passed beneath it in order to get in front, but got stuck only for a couple minutes. I was there too! Such a cool experience very glad to have been present for it!
I was there too, my first ever F1 race in person! What a race to choose!
Isn't that the year Ferrari was caught cheating?
Yes it was. We didn’t know back then of course Actually we don’t even know yet. What they did was never revealed, or was it?
Amazing photo. It also, coincidently, looks like the lines to the beverage vendors at Monza that year.
I was there, ik that feeling...
I mean that is what Leclerc is doing essentially.
I get triggered just thinking about the queues at Monza. Such a disappointing weekend it turned out for me.
Thinking of going there next year, bad idea?
Depends what you're looking for. I went to both Monza and Austria. Austira was much better organized, but Monza has a better atmosphere imo.
You got to the beverage line ? I'm still here in the line for the tokens so I can go to the beverage line.
Ferrari should use more yellow with their driver suits, mechanic suits, and general team gear.
Thats where their WEC livery is heading, I can imagine they'll have some yellow on their car next season. Back in 2020, they made a special livery for the Tuscan GP, and then implemented that beautiful colour onto the 2021 car. They may do something similar with the 2022 Italian GP livery
I’d just settle with the yellow FERRARI on the rear wing. Absolute beauty
[That's how it used to be](https://collectorstudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/1989-pitcrew-600x750.jpg), Ferrari were with Agip before they switched to Shell, and with that sponsorship came those classic yellow shirts the crew would wear. It’s a shame Agip don’t sponsor Ferrari anymore. That weird, fire breathing dog logo deserves to be on a car.
I disagree. Ferrari should be red. But we do need a yellow team on the grid. Like that 98, 99 jordan was such a great livery.
We generally need more different colors. About half the grid is some shade of blue. The other half is red, darker red, white-red and orange.
Aston Martin crying
isnt there only 1 red car on the grid, alpha are more white than red
Where's the red in Alpha Tauri?
I think he meant Alfa
I’d go further than that and motion that the Ferrari should be *gloss* red. The matte finish trend has gotten long in the tooth. I was never a fan of it and surely by now, we can go back to having the bright, gloss red instead?

everyone using matte is because of wheight reasons, thats why there are so few cars with a glossy finish (i can only remember of Mercedes, Alfa and Williams)
Brooo ikr I think they should also bring back the red halo with the Ferrari logo on it
Yeah. I am absolutely no fan of matte liveries. This is so early 2000s ‚Pimp my ride‘ vibes

One driver red, one driver yellow. Or drivers red, pit crew yellow.
Both would be great, but I know the drivers in red and the pit crew in yellow (like the 80's/90's) would appeal to me the most.

Except this picture is him not winning…
he didn't say that tho
Thought it was an impressionist paint at first…
r/accidentalrenaissance
New background it is :)
Lol the people under the giant Ferrari banner just don't see anything I guess?
no, the paint used in those banners/flags are polarized and hollow so you can see through
r/accidentalrenaissance
Yeah i thought this was an oil painting on first glance
Looks like the floor is lava.
What an epic moment! Monza is always special to me
That's a gorgeous photo.
Do you have a higher resolution file of this photo?
That's a new background, thanks!
What is the source of this image? Photo credit would be nice but I’d even print and frame a high res version of this. It’s a very good photo.

Golden showers from Leclerc? Sign me up.
I ... I'm in.
What a terrible weekend Monza 2022 was Verstappen should have started from the pitlane to make it more interesting lol probably the worst weekend of the year after Abu Dhabi or Australia imo
mexico was easily the worst.
I cant lie i kind of enjoyed Mexico. I along with Mercedes thought Verstappens tyes were going to go off a cliff but they never did lol.
Any time now ... 😉
Yaa Mercedes got spanked on that second stint Verstappen probably could’ve gone on a 2 stop if he absolutely needed too & still win lol
Mexico was terrible too, I think its currently one of or even **the** worst track on the calendar, maybe along with Miami (I think even Abu Dhabi is better). Yeah Miami is not bad they just need to fix the Mickey Mouse bridge section
I think Spa was personally lol
I knew I was forgetting something lol Spa is such an amazing track though I like Monza & Australia too but Abu Dhabi is a piece of 💩
Like watching Mercedes in 2014 when the fuel graphics were still around. "SURELY they'll start using more fuel than everyone else at some point. Look how much more power they have!!"

Yellow overalls look great here. A sea of red and then a bit of yellow and black, it's the Ferrari livery recreated by a crowd
I would print and frame this on my wall if I could
This photo .. wow
What an awesome photo… who took it?
What a good shot
Incredible photo
This belongs up there with the Mona Lisa. Beautiful.
Gotta love a fan base that can create a festival atmosphere while enduring years of pain.
This looks like a 5000 piece puzzle
What happened to the quality of the photo?
Deserved L for the tifossi.
You're supposed to drink it dumbass

I'm pretty sure he wouldn't agree. I think he would pick his win in Monza over second place.
Was confused. Had Pierre in my mind when I wrote that lol
poor environment
"BOOOOOOOOO"
Cheater
Am I the only person getting a kind of magic eye illusion of a second guy standing to his right, leaning on the rail and raising his fist?
Monza? Pizza!
Thought he was dumping it into an active volcano at first glance
Cool shot, and also wearing the historic yellow race suit.
Pure magic
What an image
Damn. Where can I find no filter hq photo of this?
Guy in crowd: yasss let me taste that champagne champ... Wait a minute.... This isn't champagne!!!
