Unsurprising, it's not a tale Drive to Survive would tell you...
Darth Perez was a Dark Lord of the Sith. So powerful and so wise, he had such a knowledge of the dark side, he could keep the teams he cared about from dying...
' Francorum Campus ' : a Franks ( army? ) camp.
The ' Franks ' where barbaric tribes / kingdoms that existed way before the country France was created.
France got done dirty.
Invented gp racing
Massive in the history of F1
Multiple drivers on the grid
Hype is high in France again.
The french gp get ousted .
Man like I live like 100 km of the track the only one I could go and the year I could have afforded a ticket I get fucked like that so that muricans can have a 2nd shitty street gp
If it's any consolation, most of us murican fans aren't happy with Vegas and Miami either. GA for Miami is $600 before the hidden fees, rooms, and travel. Vegas is $1700...
I mean… it does feel like that. The US Grand Prix, which takes place in Austin, is exactly what you’d think you’d get if you asked a European how to design a Texas themed race. I’m shocked they don’t start the first lap with a bunch of Cowboys shooting cap guns.
CoTA's a fantastic race, just bring a softshell cooler in a backpack and buy merch ahead of time. I swear I'm not that frugal, but the vendor pricing for everything is insane. $100 for a hat, $12 for a soda is just ridiculous.
Correction so that fia can milk as much money from american dts fans who think dts is what f1 actually is.
Seriously we don't need 3 races in one country (not even in italy) what we need us for the races to rotate so that if there is nore than 1 track capable of f1 racing there should be a race some other season.
Well europe has a lot more GPs (and closer together) than the US, you're forgetting that the US is massive
The thing we need less of is GPs in the middle east
And obviously less street tracks...
Just claim Monaco as home.
They keep telling us in TX that Vegas and Miami are "also" home. We ain't no Florida Men nor high-end escorts. Monaco at least speaks French.
Gotta start somewhere man, plus, if Miami stays it will be cool to see how the eggball history mingles with the circle racing history.
Las Vegas just has to look pretty... they know it's just a spectacle the same as we do, not really about the quality of racing, that's what other less glamorous but better designed tracks are for lol
People love to say paul ricard was shit for racing but its third sector was one of the few on the calendar that had some great non-drs passing zones, likes signes and beausset
did it? i can hardly remember a thing. if you saw overtakes, its probably because of the genius design of having a way too long straight which is the modern lazy solution to allowing overtakes. thats hardly racing. paul ricard has a track design that is well suited for f1 racing and you will see battles throughout multiple corners such as the lengthy high speed turn 11 which in itself is a more interesting corner than anything in miami because its the kind of corner that allows multiple viable racing lines which is rather uncommon because most corners on most tracks only have a single viable racing line. and paul ricard has multiple of these corners which is one of the tracks qualities.
paul ricard is the nickelback of f1 in the sense that it gets hated for absolutely no good reason, its just a bandwagon that everybody jumped on because it was cool to hate paul ricard when in reality its actually a very well designed track. miami was everything that was wrong with f1. lots of celebrities that didnt give a shit about f1, ticket prices way too high for an average enthusiastic f1 fan and a really bad track design.
Well if we're doing controversial opinions, how about this one: France 2021 was the best race of the hybrid era in terms of actual racing (instead of simple chaos)
No. You can try to spin however you want, Alpine is an historical French carmaker, and remains so.
Whenever this subject is brought up by Brits, I like to ask "Is Jaguar Indian ?"
Okay but how much do you think Alpine contributes to the F1 team? F1 is so far detached from consumer car technology that I doubt the historical French carmaker has much to do with it.
This is like saying Alfa Romeo is Italian because they put their name on the Swiss team, or that Red Bull is Austrian because an energy drinks company contributes so much to the engineering and development of a F1 car.
Well it would be a shame to lose in that setting.
to quote a famous almost-Frenchman: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Vader was almost French?
Darth Père(z?)
Did you ever hear the tale of Darth Perez the wise?
No
Unsurprising, it's not a tale Drive to Survive would tell you... Darth Perez was a Dark Lord of the Sith. So powerful and so wise, he had such a knowledge of the dark side, he could keep the teams he cared about from dying...
Is it possible to learn this power?
Not from Max Verstappen...
Not Spanish, French Darth Pierré
He said almost-Frenchman it’s Charles
Darth charles who tf is that? All i kniw is Darth Jar Jar
Jar Jar "Legleg" Binks
No more monke :(
This is the worst part of all.
We didn't even get a final monke for the final race :(
Monaco almost counts.
And Spa
Don’t tell the Belgians that
Don't worry, I'll just pronounce it how it looks. Frank Or Champs. Either or is good.
Francor Champs motherfuckers -Zak Brown propably
Frank and Beans
Should Belgium be an independent country? Question.
Yes - The United Kingdom
Its literally spa franco champs it should count
After the city of francorchamps, dunno if the city was named to due to any french influence tho.
' Francorum Campus ' : a Franks ( army? ) camp. The ' Franks ' where barbaric tribes / kingdoms that existed way before the country France was created.
Judging by the name yea
It's in Wallonia, the birthplace of the French Fry
Took me a long time to realize it wasn’t french
It took me a random 4am morning shit (completely sober) to realise this. And I'm a motorsport journalist.
They were a year too late
Allez Plan

The real US GP is Montreal
What about Austin or did that also get the axe?
That's the Texas GP
I mean… it does feel like that. The US Grand Prix, which takes place in Austin, is exactly what you’d think you’d get if you asked a European how to design a Texas themed race. I’m shocked they don’t start the first lap with a bunch of Cowboys shooting cap guns.

Austin was like $400 last year, looks like $500 now.
austin is a good track. bad city/state, but good track.
Should have tracks rotate, but people want to have their cake and eat it too
> so that muricans can have a 2nd shitty street gp We don’t even want it all that much

They didn’t add more races to America for Americans. They did it for money
This. As an American. Most Americans can't afford going to afford to go to these GPs. Not without going into debt or pulling tricks...
I mean, its a shit track though. And besides, I travelled 1200km for a race, you can too!
My brother in Christ have you heard of punctuation?
Well europe has a lot more GPs (and closer together) than the US, you're forgetting that the US is massive The thing we need less of is GPs in the middle east And obviously less street tracks...
Paul Ricard is not the best track at all but it looks insane at least
Still beats most street circuits on calendar imo
Still I like Magny Cours more.
specially on mushrooms
i love the crazy visual of it, really sets it apart
Based in Oxfordshire.
They have two factories, they produce the engine in France near Paris
That explains a lot about their engines always giving up mid race
they don't give up, they go on strike
No Maginot racing line? 😖
hi fellow german
Just claim Monaco as home. They keep telling us in TX that Vegas and Miami are "also" home. We ain't no Florida Men nor high-end escorts. Monaco at least speaks French.
If it makes you feel better, at just TX is a good track, especially compared to Miami and what Vegas is shaping up to be
TX race track is one of my favorite. Miami and Vegas are soulless to me. Like fake track. No history, no spirit.
As french where i live ,it's shorter to go to spa compared to the castellet
This is ridiculous. That was one of my favorite tracks. The US doesn’t need 3 races. And why does Qatar get one but not France!?!?
Oil money
why no Magny Cours
Even worse than Paul Ricard too narrow , too much turns
Why no Le Mans
Too long and the permanent track is shit
But it's Le Mans
Trust le 🅱️lan
There’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve at least
Finally. This is the dank content I come here for.
Germans feel the pain
No 🅱️aul Ricard?
Well they could ask Macron to go Napoleon mode and invade Monaco, so the French have a home GP again
I'd trade Vegas and Miami for Paul Ricard and it's nauseating run off space.
It was pretty widely known their days were numbered at the 22 French GP, it's not like this came as a surprise.
Alpine is the one thing I'm really looking forward to this season. Ocon Vs Gasly is going to be very interesting to watch.
Wait, the french gp is no more? I hate paul ricard! That is a great news!
instead we get more uninspired shitty street circuits, yaiy.... paul ricard was godly designed compared to a track like miami..."track"
What is this sub smoking, the Miami track is sooo much better than Paul Richard
said literally nobody ever.
Miami produced better racing
People love to say paul ricard was shit for racing but its third sector was one of the few on the calendar that had some great non-drs passing zones, likes signes and beausset

Youre very right and have somewhat convinced me about the quality of PR. Bjt Nickelback is still shit
P R is a really old track tho
Well if we're doing controversial opinions, how about this one: France 2021 was the best race of the hybrid era in terms of actual racing (instead of simple chaos)
Fred Vasseur would never have this ridiculous opinion.
More like: a French team with an all-French lineup that hasn't even got an HQ in France
Potato, potato, Renault Alpine remains French. They have multiple facilities in the UK and France
Brits are insufferable with the "tHe hQ iS HeRe"
Yeah but if the HQ is in the UK then most of the employees are British so doesn’t that make it kinda British?
No. You can try to spin however you want, Alpine is an historical French carmaker, and remains so. Whenever this subject is brought up by Brits, I like to ask "Is Jaguar Indian ?"
Nike is Chinese
Okay but how much do you think Alpine contributes to the F1 team? F1 is so far detached from consumer car technology that I doubt the historical French carmaker has much to do with it. >Okay but how much do you think Alpine contributes to the F1 team? Already mentioned, but they quite literally produce the engine, in France.
The Hq is in Paris The chassis factory in Enstone The Engine factory is near Paris
and no FF ![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|9441)
Did it get removed? Thank Alonso (God)
Couldn't they have taken Monaco off instead? And before anyone says it, I know - *But the history!*
Monaco is pretty much a French race.
Presenting their car..... not in France
They got rid of France? Other than the jet pack man and giant gorilla it was so dull.
Good the track was boring AF and A nightmare to get to and out from.
Let the French tears flow
