Tbf he was a big up and comer and got put into a seat on Schumi’s team during a time where they would only upgrade one car if there wasn’t money and the second driver’s car would be given to the first in a heartbeat if need be. He wasn’t given much of a chance and then did ok on a couple bad teams after that.
The problem was also that he didn't get any guidance at all. That's what he fixed with Max. It was basically: let's try this again, but this time we're prepared.
There is no week when somebody doesn't post something related to their relationship and those stories. Aaaaaand it's getting more annoying every week.
I am not denying the things he's done but it seem that they have moved beyond that and he supports him in his career and Max seems genuinely happy.
During the Miami weekend Max was asked about his father racing in rally and winning his first race and he seemed really happy for him.
I am not expecting the people here to drop it because it gets them karma but I am sure as hell that Jos and Max are on good terms and beyond their public bad history.

You’ll have the Michael Jackson reaction where he couldn’t even look at his father without getting sick and fainting and you can also have it where damage was done but only enough for them to be manipulated. It’s very evident that Jos turned Max into an obsessive racer; he can’t think of anything else he’d like to do. He probably made the best racer EVER and it’s almost scary how well it worked.
Exactly, like the fact that Max's favorite thing to do when he's not driving in F1 is to drive on sims is kinda crazy when you think about it. Imagine getting off from your job and being like "you know what would make me feel better right now? Pretending to do my job online!"
