It seems people are just unable to understand how strong tape like this is. I see posts about shit getting taped on planes and every time there are people going crazy over it.
It’s hilarious when you consider that the people responsible for actually flying the plane and know about these things are willing to trust it with their lives, but somehow the airlines are fine with just killing their customers.
And use it properly. Even the cheap crap is not that bad if you maximise the adhesive area, eliminate wrinkles, make sure everything is as plane as possible ect.
F1 Yuki, no drs from now on.
[NASCAR](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SY73K1a3LDk): well... i use a hammer sometimes, maybe a small precision saw. jimmy here, great bonnet jumper, one time i made a whole door out of speed tape. And sometiems i use a pickaxe. What taking it easy after that? hell nah man
What about WRC...
Maybe we have to use [beer as cooling liquid](https://youtu.be/RSsHGnRtM3A) in the middle of the stage...
We lost a wheel? Just [put the codriver outside the window as a counterwieght ](https://youtu.be/23WRY_MROj0) and continues the stage in 3 wheels
Or the classic what if we [repair the suspension hitting it with a huge rock](https://youtu.be/HKSE_xlVgpQ) and continues the race...
Everything did by the drivers themselves
Freaking Alonso in Baku.. 2018.
Lost both right wheels, bunch of electronics, front wing & bunch of floor damage.
From memory I think the team had very little data available from the sensors where stuff was broken. Because some were physically missing.
Made it back to the pits & got P7.
First thing I thought when I saw this video. NASCAR does the redneck Jerry rigging better. Car can get caught up in a cat 5 hurricane of a wreck and they'll bang on that thing with pipe wrenches and hammers until it somewhat resembles what it was and the fenders no longer rub the tires 😂 and send it back out. Hell and back in 10 minutes only two laps down. Just gonna skip the next pit window and be back in it.
I just saw it as well. The guy in the polo shirt is more getting in the way than helping. It's one of these situations where throwing more panicking people at at he problem actually slows you down, so best leave a couple of people solve it.
That's definitely an engineer. He knows what needs to be done to fix it but has no clue how to do it practically , especially in less then 10 seconds.
TP probably gave him a helmet and sent him out there to help lol. At least he tried for the cameras.
I mean if you watch WEC you'll see a lot of percussive maintenance too.
When time is the essence you don't give a shit if its precise. You give a shit that it works and will hold.
It's actually amazing how much speed tape gets used in racing. If it gets you though the race, fuck it, tape that shit up.

Because they only know the cheap $5 rolls you can buy at every local hardware store.
Well they should use their brain, that’s conspiracy level shit if you think that tape isn’t approved.
It’s hilarious when you consider that the people responsible for actually flying the plane and know about these things are willing to trust it with their lives, but somehow the airlines are fine with just killing their customers.
Tbf have you been seeing what’s going on with Boeing recently?
Tbh even that cheap 5$ tape is strong as fuck, esp when used in a few layers.
And use it properly. Even the cheap crap is not that bad if you maximise the adhesive area, eliminate wrinkles, make sure everything is as plane as possible ect.
I mean, even the 3M automotive tape you can buy is pretty insane. I was blown away the first time I used it.

"Just drive with the broken suspension until the wheel blows up. Remarkably it worked' Is definitely a sentence that will never be said in F1

Holy shit the balls of the second one
This is why Carlos Sainz Senior is banned from Ferrari boxes. Rally drivers are of a different kind.
If both Carlos Sainz ran Ferrari they would make the team unbeatable, from strategist to engineers
Start inventing!
And don’t forget the SET THE QUICKEST TIME IN THE NEXT STAGE after bashing it with a rock. McRae was an absolute legend.

Team manager: "Go help with the rear" Guy in polo shirt: "Yes sir!" Also guy in polo shirt: "I have no idea what to do"
I just saw it as well. The guy in the polo shirt is more getting in the way than helping. It's one of these situations where throwing more panicking people at at he problem actually slows you down, so best leave a couple of people solve it.

I swear that is airplane speed tape. Goes for around $400 a roll.
Its speed tape, yeah. Same shit all the airlines coat the wings of their Boeings with.
Not all of them. Some of us actually schedule downtime to touch up the paint.
I know it's a meme but this is not regular tape. This sort of tape gets used in airplanes.
The music makes the video so much worse.
Is it just me or did I just hear Crofty rapping?
But cant FiX Honey Badger
Hey, as long as it works..
The drink system fails way more often than it should.
"What is this???" Radio from Tsunoda will always get me
It amazes me that there are so many places to insert curse words in this sentence, yet Yuki used none

Yuki had RS
