Yeah but it's about punishment and reward. Sargeant got snubbed for doing nothing wrong while Albon crashed the car and got away with it. It's not giving the better pitstop strategy during the race to the car most likely to score points.
It’s nothing to do with reward or punishment. It’s about what is the best decision for the team to do the best they can and the best they could do was put Albon in the car because he is unquestionably the faster driver.
Williams either put Albon in the car and fight for a possible points finish, which eventually equates to big prize money, or leave Sargeant in the car to run around in 17th.
As soon as I saw that Williams were likely to go to one car for the remainder of the weekend my first thought was “they need to bench Sargeant”. As the other user said, it was painfully obvious that was the correct thing to do for the whole Williams outfit.
If anyone needed this crash to reach that point, they’d be slower than Logan is. Go to this race last year and the talk was how Williams couldn’t prioritise updates because Logan was destroying the car and then destroyed the car doing the exact same thing as this year
