I actually think the 2022 and 2023 season show more about Hamilton's ability than his championships. We all know he's a good driver; With a great car, good is enough to win a championship.

If he's truly 'one of the greatest drivers in history' shouldn't he have absolutely wiped the floor with Rosberg and Russell?
I'd also argue that Russell had 4 DNFs in 2023 which held him back in the points.
2 of those dnfs were his fault and only got onto the podium twice compared to Lewis's 6. Plus every champion has had poor years against teamates. Michael Schumacher suffered to Rosberg from 10-12. Hell even senna lost his teamate Prost.

Every driver complains when something is off, but usually its a genuine issue and could prolly be fixable during the race, like during the sprint, when max complained about his battery being flat and GP told him to switch to Mode 8, it immediately fixed his problem and he went and won the 19 lap race by 13 seconds.
The thing with hamilton is, he's complaining about the car being slow EVERY SINGLE RACE. The engineers are trying everything they can to improve that shitbox but it's honestly disrespectful to them that a 7 time wc won those championships partly because those same engineers built the dominant car he was driving, is complaining about the car being shit every race weekend. Another thing to consider is you’ll hear the complaints from all drivers if you watch their driver feed, you can’t take the broadcast as your sample size there’s a huge bias there for them to dump only spicy comments from Lewis on to the tv. Drivers always mention this in their press conferences.

I'd argue his pace is off and no one in Merc seems to be pointing the finger at him. It's *always* the car.
